Author's Pov:

"You seem so happy since your engagement with Jiwoo is announced", Haeun said. "Yeah, I am", Joshua answered.

Haeun smirked, "So you like Jiwoo?". Joshua shook his head. Haeun frowned, "You do, like when I saw you in the restaurant along with Jiwoo, you looked so happy. I would be happy to know you have crush on her".

"I don't, Haeun".

"But what if you are lying? Hiding from your own feelings"

"Then it's not me, it's you".

Haeun stared at him, "I don't".

Joshua smirked, "You wouldn't have leaned in when I was about to kiss you", he whispered. Haeun blinked. "I could say the same thing about you. As much as I remember you were the one who leaned in first, you were the one who initiated the kiss, not me".

Joshua's smirked faded. Haeun stressed on the every 'you' she said. Joshua cleared his throat, "Let's study". Haeun smiled, "Now someone's changing the topic".

"Right, I need to change the topic. Everytime we talk about the kiss, a weird feeling creeps in. I don't know what it is", he whispered.

"Love, I call it love", Haeun teased. Joshua smirked, "Love? Maybe".

"Study my dear students", The librarian said. Joshua poked her trying to get her attention, leaned in, "I am not happy because of our engagement but because I have no one to stop me right now". Haeun frowned, "Means?"

"Tell me all the wars in chronological order", Joshua said. Haeun groaned, "Not again".

Haeun told him all the wars in chronological order, along with cause and results of the wars. Joshua looked at her, stunned, "When did you study all this?"

Haeun smirked, "Now tell me any 20 mathematical formulas". Joshua's smile faded, "S-Someone's calling me. Let me go". As he stood, Haeun pulled him down. "Sometimes I can be dumb but I am not this dumb", she said holding his shirt.

"Now tell me", she raised her eye brow, "Okay, if you don't want to tell then write the 20 formulas in 1 minute"

"But how can-"

"You can write, me and Soonyoung have done that a lot of times. The shortest time we took was something 45 seconds. I am just giving you 15 seconds extra".

Joshua closed his eyes, trying to remember the formulas. "And. Your. Time. Starts. Now", Haeun said. Joshua tightly held the pen in his hand and started writing the formulas, as much as he remembered.

"Anddd the times up", Haeun said taking away his pen. Joshua sighed, "I don't know how much are correct".

Haeun checked the paper and frowned, she looked at Joshua who was fidgeting his fingers. "Hmm, Joshua. I didn't expect this from you" . Joshua gulped.

Haeun chuckled ruffling his hair, "Everything is correct, not even a single mistake. Just show more confidence, it will look good".

Joshua smiled, "See, I have always been intelligent. You just always underestimate me". Haeun rolled her eyes, "Sometimes I am scared to appreciate you".

Joshua chuckled, "But still you do". Haeun hummed. She looked at librarian and pouted, "Please". The librarian shook her head, "15 minutes more".

Haeun joined her hands, "We are here for 3 hours, please". But the librarian was too stern. "It's just 15 minutes, it will pass quickly. I am now going to do some work. No other business other than studying", she got up and went.

Haeun kept reading the same page until Joshua's phone vibrated.

"Jiwoo"

Haeun smirked, "Aww, sister in law in calling". Joshua kept the phone aside, "Did you just indirectly call me brother?". Haeun tilted her head, "Yeah, I think".

"Time's up. You can go. Some urgent work, need to do it", the librarian said. Haeun smiled packing up her bag. "You always get what you want", Joshua whispered. Haeun nodded, "That's my luck".

As they walked out the school, Jiwoo called him again. "Oh, sister in law is calling", Haeun teased him again, "Why don't you pick it up?".

Joshua shook his head, "She doesn't want me to pick up". Haeun frowned, "And how did you know that?". Joshua chuckled, "She messaged me earlier".

Haeun smirked, "Aww, admit it brother, admit it you like her". Joshua scowled, "Stop with that brother thing". Haeun smirked, "Brother".

"Brother huh?", he murmured, Haeun who was still in a mood to tease him nodded. Joshua pulled her, gently trapping her between him and his bike. He still kept some distance.

"I am not your brother, remember that. We can be anything but not brother and sister, get that in your mind", Joshua said, his eyes darken. Haeun stared at him, scared, "You are scaring me. Did you just get possessed-"

"I have a question, it has been troubling me for days", he whispered taking a step forward.

"I'll tell you the answer-"

Haeun's words were cut short as Joshua, driven by a moment of impulse, closed the distance between them with a kiss. It was gentle. Haeun stood frozen, her hands tightly clenched into her fists at her sides, her nails digging into her palms.

While Joshua's lips were firm against her, his hand gently cupping her cheeks. His eyes closed as his other hand circled around her waist.

"Joshua"

"Joshua?"

"Open your eyes"

Joshua kept his eyes closed until he felt a stinging pain on his cheek. He quickly opened his eyes to see Haeun staring at him, "Are you fine? You suddenly closed your eyes and hugged someone in the air? Were you kissing an imaginary person?".

Joshua frowned, "Huh?"

"You said you had a question which has been troubling you since days, when I asked you what is the question, you suddenly closed you eyes, hugged someone and kissed the air", Haeun said.

Joshua tightly closed his eyes, "Was I just dreaming the kiss?", he whispered, his mind was racing to make the sense of the situation. He was still traping Haeun between the bike and him.

Joshua stepped back, "Uh... I just don't know what happened", he whispered. Haeun sighed, "You need some rest, I think. Take some rest, I'll go".

"Umm sorry for slapping you. I didn't mean to but I called you a lot of times and you didn't even open your eyes so I had to. Sorry. Your cheeks are slightly pink, maybe you should apply some ice", Haeun politely said.

Joshua touched his cheeks and hummed. Haeun glanced at him once before going.

Joshua sat on bike and looked into the mirror, "Ah, what was I thinking? I should have slapped myself but she already did. I deserved it. Eww, no one will like to kiss her".

But somewhere his mind and heart said,

"You just did, twice".

Joshua groaned, "Ugrhh, I need to cleanse my mind". He took his phone and messaged Haeun,

'Sorry for scaring you'

And she instantly replied,

It's fine.
Just take some rest.
And
You are not my brother,
I understand it.

You have fallen for me, Joshua
accept it 😁

Joshua rolled his, "Me? And loving you? That's never possible. Never. Never. Never and Never", he scoffed staring at his phone, "I am going crazy".

"I am going crazy", he shouted. "Bro, you okay? Your face is red as hell and why are you shouting? Is everything fine?", his classmate asked. Joshua stared at him, "No, I am not fine. I'm going crazy, my brain is not working properly. I am going home, bye".

His classmate stood there as Joshua went away, "He is weird", he muttered going back to his practice.

Joshua went back to his house. He ran to his room and fell on the bed, "I need to get that out of my mind". Just then one of the servant came, "Is anything wrong?".

Joshua nodded, "I want some things to get out of my mind". The servant smiled, "You have your guitar. I'll make sure no one tells your father about this. It's been a long time since we all heard you playing the guitar".

Joshua smiled widely, "I'll freshen up and then we will all sit together and sing". The servant nodded, "I'll tell others to gather".

Joshua smiled, "Yeah, It will be after a long time".

After some time, all the the maids and servants gathered around. Joshua sat between them. As he played the guitar, he forgot all the things happened today and his all focus was on the guitar.
