Chapter 21

Stiles

“Okay, I know there's the whole 72 hour thing but I'd really need to use the phone” I said to the nurse as I particle chased after her and Star right behind me. “The accident that occurred is being taken care of” the nurse said acting like she didn't just see someone hang them self. “You're seriously referring to that as an accident” Star said not believing what she was hearing too. “Ok, incident” the nurse said “slightly better, still need to use the phone, just five minutes. Three minutes, please, a three minute call” I begged.

We stood outside of a room “Stiles, this is your room” the nurse said “wait what about Star” I asked. “Her room is in a different area” the nurse said as she opened the door and I walked in “sleep tight” the nurse said and closed the door as I quick turned around “hey, wait, wait, wait”. I take a deep breath and turned around to see a boy around my age laying, strapped to the bed. “I'm Oliver” the boy said “Stiles” I said.

“There was a suicide, huh” “yeah” I said a little confused how he knew “is it Monday? There's a much higher rate of suicide on Mondays” Oliver said “okay then” I said and went back to the door “um, hey, can someone just please let me out of here, someone, anyone, Star” I called out but nothing. “I heard it by the way, it happened in the stairwell, right” “yeah, how'd you know that” I asked confused “I heard the echo” “what do you mean” “it's this place. Something about the way that it was built everything echoes, eventually. That's why they call it Echo House” Oliver said “oh” I said not really putting it together until now.

“Do you like to wish on stars or something” Oliver asked “not really, why” I asked and sat on my bed. “Well you called out star” Oliver said “its a girl, its her name, she's... my sister” “your sister” Oliver asked “ya” I said remembering I had to call her my sister witch was wired. “Well, night” Oliver said and fell asleep instantly; this is going to be a long night.

Star

I walked down the hallway behind the nurse and stopped in front of another door and the nurse unlocked it. “Mind if I try and call” I asked with a smile as the nurse gave me a look of announce and my smile disappeared “worth a try”. I walked in the room as the nurse closed and locked the door behind me and I sighed and turned around to see a girl sitting on her bed.

I looked at her, she seemed familiar but I didn't know how, she looked up at me and she seem surprised and I knew who she was “Malia” I asked. “Hi Star” she said almost mad “I thought I'd see you in here” Malia said as my smile disappeared “same old Malia”. I sat on the bed and look out the small window above us “so you still a wolf” Malia asked as my eyes moved to look at her but changed to a red.

“Ya you are” Malia said and looked out the window for a minuet “Stiles is in here too” I said “really” Malia asked. “I'm actually in here to make sure Stiles doesn't get hurt” I said “same old Star, saving everyone except herself” Malia said and I looked at her mad. “What is that suppose to mean” “it means you don't care if you die, you want to win everyone's love” Malia said and laid down on the bed.

“Unlike you who sits here and acts like shes nothing when you could out in the real world going on with your life” I said mad. As she turned her head to face me and smiled “well at least I'm not hiding something” she said nodding her head toward my arm that still didn't heal for some reason. I looked at it and polled my white, short sleeve shirt down.

Stiles

“Have you been awake all night” Oliver asked opening his eyes and turning his head to face me as I continued to stair up at the window all night. “Yeah, I can't sleep without my pillow” I practically whispered it as it was silent for a moment. “You don't have any idea when they unlock the doors, do you” I asked Oliver as someone unlocked the door and walked away. “Now” Oliver said as we untied Oliver and we walked outside to a small area where I saw Star at.

“Hey” I said “you won't believe who's here” I said “hold on, we have to find a phone” I said as we fallowed Oliver. “Hey, how come you want to use the phone already” Oliver asked me “cause after one night, I've changed my mind about this place being safe for me, or anyone, ever” I said as we headed to a phone where a girl a little older then us stood talking on the phone. “No, no, I think you're wrong, I really think I should tell them. They're going to want to know the story, the whole story, I really think they should know. Yes, I do, two of them are standing right behind me” the girl said as Star and I looked at each at each other confused.

“Who was that” I asked “that's Meredith, she's a little weird” “no I'm a little weird, she's a lot weird” Star said as I tried the phone out. “It's dead” I said and hung up the phone “yeah, they turn off all the phones for 24 hours after a suicide” “wow, there must be a lot of deaths if they have a law for that” Star said as I sighed. “Why didn't you tell me that before” I asked Oliver “why didn't you ask, what are you going to do now” Oliver asked me as Star and I started to walk away. “I'm getting out of this nuthouse” I said.

“Stiles we really need to talk” Star said to me as I stopped in my tracts “Malia” I said and ran over to her “Stiles that's not a good idea” Star said “hey, it's Stiles. Do you remember me, we were the ones who helped you out with” I started but was stopped when she hot my face and I fell to the ground. Before I knew it Star punched Malia in the jaw as well “Star, stop” I yelled and she put her hand down and bent down next to me “told you not to go up to her” Star whispered to me as guards came and took Malia away and grabbed Star and I “wait I didn't do anything” I yelled.

I looked below me and saw the basement to the building, recognizing it as where I got captured. “Enough, enough” a lady said and bent down to me and I looked up to see Morrell. “Star” I said as she looked up at the guards holding Star “let her go” “she punched” the guard started “let her go” Morrell said as the guards let Star go. “You saw something, didn't you” Star asked me bending down to me “that basement. I've been down there before” I said.
