Chapter 14

Star

I knocked on Scott's bedroom door to have him answer with his book bag on his back “hey” I said putting a smile on my face. “Is there any chance I could maybe stay with you, I hate doing this to you. I promise I'll get an apartment or something soon” I said. Scott laughed “its fine Star, guest room is always open for you” Scott said making me smile “thanks”. Things between Scott and I have been a little awkward at times, we haven't told anyone about the kiss.

Right now Scott and I are just friends, I don't want to hurt Kira. I set my bag on the bed, quickly getting dressed and ready for school. I walked into school, holding my book bag strap. “Hey, Liam” I said walking up to him as he looked around a little on edge “you okay” I asked him a little confused. Liam shook his head “yeah, I'm, I'm fine, how are you doing” Liam asked me?

“Fine, I'll see you later” I said before starting to walk away. I heard Scott walk up to Liam “another thing you should know about you're sister is that she hides her feelings, a lot” Scott said. “I can tell” Liam said with a sigh before they headed to the boys locker room.

Scott

“All right, now I know the start of season bonfire, it's a big deal for you guys. I also know it gets out-of-hand sometimes, the alumni show up, there's other teams, and alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol” Couch says to everyone on the team. Everyone cheers “all right” Couch says as everyone continues to cheer “shut up”, everyone drew silent. “Now, what I don't understand is why anybody would ever want to get stumbling down drunk in front of a massive open fire. I'm also resigned to not being able to stop you guys”.

Everyone cheers again “I also remind you, your team captain, McCall, will be there. And I can count on him to narc on any and every one of these little bastards, get back to class” Couch said to everyone. Everyone left the room and headed separate ways. Star and I started to walk and saw Liam sitting on the stairs. We both sat on ether side of him “hey, you okay” Scott asked him?

Star

Liam was silent “hey, whats wrong” I nudged Liam making him sigh “last night my printer went off by itself. I couldn't turn it off, I hit the cancel button, but it just kept printing” Liam said. “Printing what” Scott asked? Liam handed Scott a paper when suddenly Couch yelled “what the hell's this”. Scott, Liam, and I quickly got up, walking to his room to see the printer shooting out paper.

A lot of paper is scattered to the floor. Scott and I both pick one up, seeing that its the dead pool list. I dropped the paper as Liam pushed Scott and I to the side, taking out his own paper. “You see the difference” Liam said to us “Derek's not on the list anymore” Scott said. “Derek and I don't have a star next to our names, and I think I went up a million” I said studding the paper. “And I'm not worth three million, it's 18 now, $18 million” Liam said making us all look at each other.

Night rolled around witch meant that the bonfire was going on. I wasn't going to go, but decided against it and got dressed to go. I changed into some dark jeans and a black tank top before leaving. The fire had already started and the music was pouring out of the speaker. Everyone was dancing and drinking. I walked over getting myself something to drink. Scott came up to me as I walked around “what are you doing here, I thought you were going to stay home” Scott asked me?

“Well if I sat at home I would think about ways to kill Derek, then I'd think about it even more and sooner or later I would actually do it. At least here I can drink and try and get my mind off of it” I said taking another sip of my drink. Scott laughed at me before looking behind me and his smile faded and looked behind me. I looked at him confused before fallowing his gaze to see Malia.

I fallowed Scott over to where she was dancing and drinking “hey” Scott said to Malia, making her look at us “what are you doing here” Scott asked her “getting drunk. What are you doing” Malia asked us, still jumping up and down. “Same” I said holding up my drink before taking another sip. “Me, I'm trying to make sure no one gets hurt” Scott said over the music.

“That sounds fun too” Malia said taking another drink. “I don't want to ruin your night or anything, but we kind of can't get drunk” Scott said. “What” Malia asked confused and surprised “I think it has something to do with our healing, but, trust me, I've tried. You're not gonna feel anything” Scott said “maybe you should tell him that” Malia said pointing over to Liam who was drinking a lot.

I sighed “great” I said “I just want to talk” Scott said to Malia “well, I just want to dance” Malia yelled over the music. “We had our reasons, we didn't tell you about Peter” Scott started to say while I kept my eyes on Liam, but still listening to Scott. “To protect me, that's what Peter said you would say, and guess what he said next? That you were right, does that surprise you” Malia said to us.

“No, it makes me wonder what he wants, Malia, we need to stay together, you, me, Star, Stiles” Scott starts. “I don't want to talk about Stiles, I just want to dance, and get drunk” Malia said looking like and acting like she was drunk. “You are drunk” Scott said not believing it. “Yep” Malia said while laughing “I thought you said we can't get drunk” I said to Scott.

“We're not suppose to” Scott said as we both looked at Liam and saw that he was acting drunk as well. “Is this what drunk feels like, it doesn't feel as good as I hoped” Malia said “I don't think it's supposed to” Scott said. I quickly headed over to Liam while Scott helped Malia over. Malia was drinking water while Liam looked out of it “Malia” Scott said. “How much has he had to drink” I asked Liam's friend “not enough to get him like this” his friend said.

“Something's happening, we need to get them out of here” Scott said looking at his hand. “Scott” I said looking at Scott “I think we're gonna have to, um” Scott said, looking like he wanted to pass out. “How much did you drink” Liam's friend asked “nothing. Not even a sip” Scott said “I don't think its the drinks” I said as Scott looked around and looked at the music.

“It's not the drinks, it's the music” Scott said before looking at me “how come you're not effected” Scott asked me. “Probable because I haven't been listening to it, my mind just keeps going back to Derek” I said. “We have to, we have to turn off the music” Scott said. “Don't let them out of your sight” Scott said to Liam's friend before walking off “Scott maybe you should stay back there” I said to him. “No” Scott said before continue to walk.

I stood there and sighed before reaching into my pocket and pulling out my headphones and playing my music so I wouldn't listen to theirs. I looked up to see security taking Scott away. I quickly looked behind me to see the same thing happen with Liam and Malia. I fallowed them into the school and watch them throw Scott onto the ground by Malia and Liam, next to the lockers in the school.

One of the guys smiled “hey” I called as the school doors closed behind me. I took out my headphones “you know, I was having a really bad day, why not make it worst” I said letting my claws grown and my fangs. I charged for the security, fighting a few of them. I threw one against the lockers, but before I could feel anything else I felt something go right threw my stomach and saw a lacrosse stick threw me.

I changed back, falling to the ground as a security guard grabbed me and threw me by everyone. They started pouring stuff on us as I tried to get the stick out but didn't have enough strength as I started to hear the music. “What is that, what are you doing” Scott asked “it's gasoline Haigh says we gotta burn you” one of the security guards said as he continued to pour it on us.

The guard held up a lighter, tempting to drop it until the music stopped, making Scott and my eyes turn red. Scott grabbed the guys hand, making him throw the lighter and broke his hand. I quickly got the strength I needed and pulled the stick out just as someone came and knocked the security guy out.

I looked up to see Derek and Braeden fighting the guards, just like that they were all dead. “What happened to the gun” Scott asked Derek “you're covered in gasoline” Derek said confused. “Oh, yeah” Scott said as Derek helped him up. I stood up, holding my stomach as I limped my way over to Braeden. “You're a hunter right” I asked her and she nodded “yeah”. “Good” I said before slapping her “hope you felt that” I said before walking away and leaving the school.

Scott

I put my jacket on, grabbing my helmet before peeking into Star's room “hey, Kira found Brett” I said. Star was sitting in her room for the best two days on her bed, not talking to many people. “Star” I said but she didn't move a muscle, she was still upset about Derek. I sighed before going down the stairs. “Kira, found Brett, they're fine but we've got to go” I said to Liam who stood up from the couch. I set my extra bike helmet on the table in front of him.

I stopped when I reached the door and turned around to see Liam looking at the helmet and not fallowing me. “More assassins” Liam asked me and I sighed “maybe a lot more” “different than the ones who just tried to set us on fire” Liam asked “I think so, yeah” I said and Liam looked down at the helmet again “how about I take you home” I asked “I'm not like you” Liam said to me “not yet” I said.

“I don't mean I'm not strong or I'm never gonna learn how to be in control. I mean everything else, you and your friends try to protect everyone. I mean, how are you all still alive” Liam asked me “not all of us are” I stated and Liam looked down as I sighed. “Let me at least take you home” I said and Liam nodded before walking out with me.

I quickly ran into the pet clinic and saw Kira. I smiled and ran over to her, happy to see her. I ran over to her and kissed as she kissed me back “is your mom” I started after pulling away. “She's okay, healing” Kira said “what about you” I asked her “me” Kira asked me? “Are you okay” I asked her “right now, very” Kira said with a smile. “How's Star doing” Kira asked me and I looked at her confused and a littler worried. “Deaton told me about Derek and her” Kira asked me?

I sighed, reliefed “she's, she's not doing so well, but you know her, she'll be alright” I said with a smile. Part of me wanted to tell Kira about the kiss and what I felt towards Star when we did kiss but the other part of me was telling me that I shouldn't. “Did you find him, did you find Brett” I asked changing the subject quick. “Actually, I think I found all of them” Kira said, leading me towards the back. “Satomi, this is who I was telling you about” Kira said to a lady as I walked in.

“I know who Scott McCall is” Satomi said with a smile and I looked at her confused. “Are we safe here” a girl asked me as I looked around the room and saw a lot of other werewolf's in the room. I smiled and looked at Kira “we're gonna need help, a lot of help”.


Star
I sat on my bed as my phone kept going off with text messages and missed calls from Derek. He wanted to talk, without me trying to kill him. I sighed, starting to get annoyed until my phone finally stopped going on and I sighed with relief until my phone, yet again went off. I grabbed my phone with anger and was about to throw it at the wall until I looked and saw that it was a text from Scott.

I looked at my phone, confused and read the text message. “Kira found other werewolf's, meet me at Chris's new place”. I sighed, knowing that it was where Scott, Chris, and I fought Kate when we were looking for Liam. I got another text message and looked at it to see it was Scott again “please” was all it said.

I sighed before changing into some dark skinny jeans, a red top, and my leather jacket that was easily to move around in. I sighed, realizing that I still didn't have a car or anything. I texted Scott and told him I'd be a little late. I quickly ran over to Deaton's since it was closer. I ran inside “Deaton, I need a car, can I barrow yours” I asked hoping he would said yes. “Actually, I have something better” Deaton said with a smile and brought me to the back of the building.

“When Aiden died, Ethan gave me this, I never thought I would need it but it looks like I'm glade I kept it”. Deaton moved a blanket, showing a black motorcycle. “Aiden's bike” I said with a smile “at least now it can be used” Deaton said, crossing his arms. I smiled and hugged him, surprising him a little “thanks” I said before getting on the bike and putting my helmet on. I drove out of there and towards Chris's new place.

I walked inside, hearing voices “I know this man, he may not remember, but we've met before” Satomi said. “You can trust him, I trust him” Scott said as I walked inside, my black boots hitting the floor, making everyone turn to me “and I trust him” I stopped when I reached everyone “on occasions” I said with a smile. “Nice look, good to have you back” Chris said.

I looked around, seeing a whole bunch of werewolf’s “wow” was all I could say. “Who's she” a guy asked, nodding towards me. “She's” Scott started “I'm Star, Star Woods, you may know me as a lot of things. Deucalion's daughter, the old hunter but now a werewolf, or my favorite” I said crossing my arms and blinking, may my eyes turn red “alpha of alphas” I said with a smirk. Everyone looked at me with wide eyes. I smiled as my eyes changed back and I turned my attention back to Chris and Scott.

“How do we know he's not like the others” Satomi asked “what others” Chris asked “last night, there was a whole team after them, and they used crossbows” Kira said handing Chris a arrow and he looked at it “they're hunters, aren't they” I asked “not if they're killing for profit, not anymore” Chris said with a sigh. “Can they find us” Brett asked “they might already know you're here, maybe they're waiting for dark” Chris said.

“So we're not safe here” Kira asked “we're not safe anywhere, we've been trying to get out for days. Everywhere we turn, we find someone new trying to kill us” Satomi said and Chris walked up to Scott and I. “If they're coming, Star, then they're coming for you and Scott too, you two are the highest on the dead pool” “I know” I said with a slight sigh. “Lydia can get the answer from Meredith, she just needs more time” Scott said. “Then that's what she'll get” Chris said with a nod.

Scott pulled me to the side to talk I was guessing “listen, I need to call Derek, he needs to help us” Scott said to me, making me sigh. “Can you just, try not to kill him for a little while” Scott begged. I looked at the ground before looking up “Scott, I can' be here” I said and Scott looked at me confused. “I can't be here when Derek gets here, I can't be in this building, I can't be in this town, I can't be with you” I said.

“I get it, you want me to help because I'm strong and I have a fighting chance unlike a lot of other people. But this, all of this, I didn't sign up for any of it. I didn't choose to stay in Beacon Hills when I woke up, I had to because of Derek. Now Derek's gone, and I don't have a reason to stay” I said knowing that I did but I knew he still loved Kira. “Please stay, you can't keep running from everything. You left for years after you're mom died and Stiles and I we, we never thought we'd see you again”.

I listened “now you're here, you've been hear for awhile and you haven't left” “yeah., because of Derek” I said confused and a little annoyed. “Even when you found out about Derek you still didn't leave, you staid. You've always staid here, why leave now”? I sighed before nodding “alright, alright, I'll stay, for now” I said and Scott smiled before calling Derek.

After around and hour Derek and Braeden showed up with some guns and got ready.

Scott
I walked over to Derek who was looking at all the other werewolves “they'll be okay” I said. “They've got claws and fangs, but they're not fighters” Derek said to me “that's why I called you” “well, try to remember I don't have claws and fangs anymore either” Derek said “that's why he called me” Braeden said walking up to us. Derek looked over at Star who was preparing a gun. “Am I the only one still hoping this is all just a false alarm. I mean, it's possible we could wait here all night and nothing happens, right” Kira asked me?

“Scott, you heard anything from Stiles or Lydia yet” Braeden asked me “Lydia's still talking to Meredith. Stiles and Malia are headed to the lake house, they're trying to stop it” I said to them. “What if there is no stopping it” Brett said behind me, making me turn around to face him. “What if it doesn't end until we're all dead” Brett finished. “Then let's send a message” everyone turned to Star who was holding a gun.

“Let's make something perfectly clear to anyone with a copy of that list. It doesn't matter if they're professional assassins, hunters, or an amateur who just picked up a gun. Anyone who thinks they can hunt and kill us for money, is gonna be put on another list, our list. They get to be a name on our dead pool” she said mad, making me smile a little.
