Chapter 1

Star

I punched the punching bag as sweat rolled down my face "wow take it easy" my friend Alicia said to me. I looked over to her, seeing her walk over to me "sorry" "man, how much energy do you have" she asked with a laugh as I did a small chuckle. "A lot" I said punching again. "Hey, come on, lets grab something to eat" Alicia said and I looked shook my head okay as she walked away.

I quickly took a shower and headed out of the gym. "Wanna walk or drive" Alicia asked "how about drive" I said getting into my car. "Okay" she shrugged and she got in the passenger side. I started to drive as she looked around "you know this is only my third time in this card" she said. "Sorry" I said as she looked around "whats that" she asked reaching behind me and polling up a box.

"I don't know" I said confused as I looked at the medium show box. Alicia opened the box as I continued to drive. "This is a nice painting" she held a small paper that was folded. I looked over at it, seeing the painting of me and and a wolf. Klaus painted it for me when I was a kid. "Thanks for the honesty" Alicia red from the painting and set it down next to her.

"What's this" she picked up a folded piece of paper "dear Caitlin, Angel, or Crystal; to Klaus's" Alicia read as I quickly took it out of her hands. "What" she asked with a small laugh as I parked the car and grabbed the box "okay" she said putting her hands up and looking at her purse. "I think I should just go home, I'll see you at Graduation" she said getting out of the car. "Bye" I said but it came out a lot like a whisper.

Alicia slammed the door shut as I sighed and looked down at the box. There was a dew paintings folded and the note that I gave to Hope but ended up taking back.

Flashback

I knocked on Rebecca's door as she answered with a smile "Star" she hugged me as I walked inside. "I just put Hope down for a nap, I'm sorry" "no don't worry about it, it's probable good that she hasn't seen me. I was actually here to see if I could get that note back". "The one you wrote for Hope" Rebekah asked "yah, I just don't think she should see it yet. When she's older maybe but for now I would just like" I said hoping I don't sound mean or anything.

Rebekah nodded, understanding why I wanted it back. I fallowed her into the baby's room, it was so nice in there. Rebekah went to a princess box and opened it, grabbing the note while I headed over to the crib. I looked in it to see Hope laying, sound asleep with a small bear close to her. "She's so beautiful" I said with a smile "she's starting to learn to crawl Rebekah said standing next to me.

"She looks like you" Rebekah said and I looked down at the floor with a fake smile. "I guess" I whispered and walked out of the room with Rebekah fallowing behind me as I headed towards the front door. "Here you go" she said handing me the note and I took it "thanks" I said with a smile. "Star, how have you been" "good, I am going back to school, hope to graduate" "isn't Klaus suppose to find you soon though" Rebekah asked.

"Yah, but I want to have as much as a normal life as I can get before he finds me" I said with a smile. "I hope to see you soon" Rebekah says to me "you too" I said with a smile as we hugged each other. I got back in my car and sat there, silent as I looked at the note.

End of Flashback

I looked at the note that was in my hands and dropped it into the box. I got out of the car and went to the trunk. I opened it and looked at the gym bag that held my guns and knives that I had put away a few months ago. A year, it had been a year ago that Klaus promised to find me. He hasn't. I was pushing that life back, I had too. I knew that I had to start fresh.

I grabbed the bag and unzipped it, laying the box inside of it and zipping it back up again, closing the trunk and got in my car, driving to my apartment.
