Chapter 8
I know I'm dreaming, I know it's not real, but that doesn't stop my fear from rising. It feels like I'm actually living it. I can feel the burning on my right arm again, even through my dream.
This nightmare was similar to the one I had when I went unconscious because of the demon venom. Only this time, the pain is more intense and I can hear my screams and cries.
The man from before still causes the pain, only this time his face is barley seen.
As quickly as the first nightmare started, I'm back to my bedroom. My stomach tosses and turns inside. My body aches like I just got hit by a car. My brain feels like its foggy while also racing. And my heart, my heart feels like its breaking, ready to jump out of my chest.
I've never had nightmares like this. Where I could feel the pain as if it was actually happening to me in real life.
Suddenly, the pain stops and is replaced with an electricity like bolt that brings my energy level to full power. My eyes fly open and I sit up, my body in shock from the sudden change in feelings.
Jace is holding onto my shoulder, trying to calm me down as I let out a few shaky breaths. "Hey. It's okay, I'm here. You're safe."
A sigh of relief leaves my lips along with Jace's name as I move my hair away from my face.
Seeing that I'm awake and somewhat back to the world, Jace's hand lowers to my arm where he rubs it soothingly. "You wanna talk about it?"
I scuff slightly as I look at my hands in front of me. "It's hard to talk about something that you don't even understand." But, I tried my best to explain my dream, my eyes still on the bed. "I keep seeing the same thing. I'm strapped to a chair, and this man is tearing something out of my arm and my body feels like it's on fire. I can feel a part of me, a part of my heart, just rip away. Then I go numb. And when I'm home, I'm so sick."
My eyes move up, catching Jace's as I look at him with a desperate look. "I need answers, Jace. I need to know what these nightmares mean. Why my dad is part of this. Why I feel the way I feel."
Jace seemed to nod slightly in agreement. His eyes went down to the bed as well before returning to me with a confused look. "You said there was a man. Do you remember his name? What he looked like?"
"No. I just remember seeing purple smoke coming out of his hands."
"What about your stories? Do you think they'd have the answer?" Jace asked, recalling that my stories held the place that Dot was supposed to be at.
I shake my head with a sigh, looking down in disappointment, "No." But an idea came to mind, raising my head again. "But new ones might."
My hands grabbed one of the journals, making my way over to the desk. Jace took that at his moment to leave. Letting me get to work in hopes of getting answers.
Sure enough, after about a half an hour of writing, I realized I had written an un-recognizable name three different times. This had to be it.
Quickly, I swiped up the journal, rushing out of my room and down the hallway. Although I was wearing my purple PJ pants and my black tank-top, I didn't stop to change.
I barge into Jace's room, my words quickly starting. "Jace, I think I figured out who took..."
My words trailed off as I caught the real sight before me. Jace was in black sweatpants, punching the bag that hung in his room. At hearing my voice and my body barging into his room, Jace look up, pushing his hair out of his face.
His abs, his body. If I was alone, I sure as hell would have drooled.
Instead, I covered it with words, "Sorry, I should've knocked first."
"It's fine. I didn't think you'd get an answer that quickly," Jace said, walking over to his desk and skipping a short-sleeve, gray shirt on. "Whatcha got?"
I hand over the journal that sat in my hands, my mouth starting to ramble like Simon. "This guy keeps popping up in my dreams, and every time I see him he's doing something to me. But he sounds... upset, like he doesn't want to do it. But my mom makes him do it."
Jace looks over the pages, finding the name written in it. "Magnus Bane?" He asked, his head raising. The look on his face said that he knew the name, peeking my hopes up.
"Yeah. You know him?"
"Magnus Bane is the High Warlock of Brooklyn. His magic is so powerful, he can invade even the Silent Brothers. If he's the Warlock that took you and possible Clary's memories, he could be the key to everything."
"And we could finally get answers," I said with a smile. My excited body practically jumped up and down before my arms wrapped around Jace, pulling him into a hug.
At catching myself, I quickly released Jace, taking a step back. "Sorry," I said, looking at the ground.
Jace shifted, almost uncomfortable, "its okay." By the look on his face, it was more of a shocked expression then it was an uncomfortable one.
"Jace, we have a problem," Izzy's voice said as she entered his room. Both Jace and I turned to her, "The Mundane is leaving."
"Simon?" I asked, as if needing a verify Mundane.
Izzy motioned behind her, "Clary's running to talk to him, but you should get out there."
Behind me, Jace sighs, setting down my journal as he says, "Alright. Izzy, go wake Alec and Hodge. We might have a lead on the Mortal Cup." Izzy nods before leaving, Jace and I quick to follow in the opposite direction. "How can one mundane be such a pain in my ass?" Jace mumbled, clearly annoyed.
We head down to the main entrance, finding Clary and Simon standing there arguing.
Jace sighs, crossing his arms while I stand next to him.
"It's not safe here," Simon said to my sister.
"In fact, this is the safest place she could possibly be," Jace said, grabbing both of their attentions.
Simon pointed his finger at Jace, slightly angry. "You don't get to talk to me, Captain America."
"Considering I'm the guy with the weapons, I get to say what I want," Jace said with a fake smirk.
Taking a step forward, Simon hit his chest. "Okay, come at me, bro!"
Clary quickly put her hands on Simon's chest, pushing him back a step. "Hey, what is your problem?"
Simon pointed at Jace, yelling as he looks between Jace and Clary. "He's my problem! He's just like Kirk Duplesse from high school. Do you remember him? Total jerk with the square jaw. Smelled like body spray, always bullying people. Why don't you do your own homework? Just once, yeah?"
Both Jace and I look at Simon beyond confused while Clary almost looks upset.
Shaking his head, Simon mumbles under his breath, "I can take care of myself." He turns, heading straight for the door while Clary runs up to us.
My sister looks at Jace with pleading eyes, but Jace only shakes his head. "I'm not saving his ass a second time."
Clary's eyes look towards me, waiting for me to say something that could help her. But it doesn't work like that, instead, I let out a sigh. "If he wants to go, who are we to stop him?"
"Ge, thanks you guys," Clary said, angrily. She turns, racing after Simon while calling his name. My eyes watch as Clary and Simon argue at the entrance, clearly not seeing eye to eye. A minute later, and Simon is turning, heading out the door and slamming it shut behind him.
Well, so much for trying to keep him here.
Once Alec and Hodge wake up and we all change into more normal clothes, we head into one of the Meeting rooms. A large table that sits about 8 people at it stands in the middle with a screen in front of it.
Jace and Clary sit in two different chairs while Izzy and I sit on the table, Alec stands off to the side slightly.
Hodge walks in, holding a mini screen in his hands. He throws whatever's on his screen up on the TV. Pictures of the man I saw in my head appear on it from different years.
"Magnus Bane. He's over 300 years old. And, as you can see, he's not exactly shied away from the pleasures of every century. His tastes are both exquisite and quite excessive."
"He looks like the Downworld's David Guetta," I said, finally getting a good look at the man.
Izzy smirks, "Guetta's already a Downworlder. Vampire? Ever seen him in the daylight?" I can't help but nod in acceptance. At this point, nothing would surprise me anymore.
Alec lightly glares at us, "Can you two focus? This is not a joke."
Hodge nods over to Alec, "Alec's right. Now, Magnus is one of the most powerful Warlocks I've ever known. He has a deep mistrust of Shadowhunters."
Clary spoke up, "Well, then why did he help our mom remove our memories? Isn't she a Shadowhunter?"
"Yes, one of the best. But "help" might not be the most accurate word. Now, did Magnus provide a service for Jocelyn? Perhaps. But more than likely, your mother paid Magnus handsomely for his magic," Hodge says. As he spoke about our mother, I wondered what his true feelings were about here.
What would our lives be like if things were different between them?
Jace's voice brought me back to reality again. "Warlocks usually require payment before they help anyone with anything."
"Word from the Clave is that most of the warlocks have gone into hiding since Valentine began hunting them," Alec added.
"Valentine must be searching for the warlock, where did Jocelyn..." Hodge started. He was cut off by the ruin on his neck firing up again, stinging him.
I speak up, hoping to stop him, "Hodge, your rune. You okay?" He looks up at me, nodding as an answer.
Clary continues with the questions, "So how do we find Magnus?"
"We don't. Magnus finds us. We'll set up a meeting, somewhere protected. Lure him out of hiding," Jace says, his hand moving on the table.
Izzy smirks, standing up, "And I know exactly where we do it." She walks over to Hodge, taking the mini screen from his hands, before punching something into it. She throws up the picture, revealing an invite to a Downworlders party.
"A Downworld rave. Nice, Izzy," Jace says, nodding to Izzy in an approved motion. She smiles, handing the device back to Hodge before returning to us.
Alec looked at his sister, "And where'd you get that?"
Izzy turned to her brother, "During my surveillance of the Downworlders. From what I hear, Magnus likes to party."
Shaking his head, Alec leaned against the wall behind him. "He'll never go for it. Not with Valentine trying to kill him."
Jace shook his head, standing "Of course he will. He'll blend in. Hide in plain sight. If Magnus is coming out of hiding, he's going to one of the biggest parties of the year," He gestures to the invite on the screen.
Hodge points to Jace before lowering his hand again. "Never underestimate Magnus' hedonism. Or his greed. Come with me."
The five of us are lead into a different room, carvings of ruins set on the floor. Hodge walks over to one, pulling out his Stele and waving it over the ruin. The stone moves, revealing a necklace. Hodge pulls it out, revealing the red stone in the middle of an antic necklace.
"Is that real?" Izzy asks, her mouth dropped in shock.
"A four-karat, unheated Burmese ruby. And this necklace has special meaning to Magnus Bane, as it was a gift from him to his then lover, Camille Belcourt."
I recognized that name. And it seemed I wasn't the only one when Clary asked, "What, Camille and Magnus were lovers?"
Jace smirks, looking over at me, "Warlock gets around."
"Magnus bought it in 1857 for the price of his London townhouse. Now, the jewel is enchanted by a spell that alerts the wearer to the presence of demons," Hodge explained.
Izzy's hands gentle touched the necklace, her eyes looking at it in aw. "It's so beautiful."
"Magnus has longed to reunite with this necklace. Offer it to him. He might just take the bait," Hodge said, releasing the necklace into Izzy's hands. She couldn't stop staring at it as she stepped to the side.
"I'll send Magnus a fire message to arrange the meeting. We have to get to him before Valentine does," Jace said, leaving the room. Izzy and Alec followed with Clary right behind them.
My feet began to follow, stopping to look at Hodge, "Thank you, Hodge."
"Your welcome, Faith," Hodge said, causing me to turn my back toward him. "Good luck," He said, speaking his last words. I looked back at him, giving him a reassuring nod and smile before completely leaving.
Izzy grabbed Clary and I, dragging us to her walk-in closet. Loads of clothes and dresses captured our eyes, most looking more sexy then functional. Either way, Izzy started looking through the racks of clothes
In seconds she grabbed a dress, my eyes barley catching sight of it as she pushes it into my chest.
"This will be perfect on your body," She said with a wide smile. Her hands quickly turned me around, pushing me behind a changing curtain, causing a laugh to leave my sister's lips.
Looking at what I could of the dress, I noticed it was dark blue and about knee length.
I start shedding my clothes as Izzy sneaks a pair of heels around the curtain before disappearing again. My ears pick up on the conversation starter, only to sigh when Simon is mentioned once again.
If I had a dollar for every time Simone was mentioned in Clary's life, I'd be so rich I'd be throwing money away.
Hoping to change the subject slightly, I let out a small chuckle. "You realize, one of these days you're gonna have to tell me where and when."
"Where and when what?" Izzy asks, her smile heard on her face.
"Where you get your spending money and when are you letting us go to a store?"
Clary spoke up, "Let's be honest, Faith, you'd buy half the clothes Izzy has anyways." Although it was half true, even I had to admit that Izzy crossed some lines with clothes that I usually wouldn't.
Showing a little skin off it fine. Leather is great. But don't even think about putting me in something tight and uncomfortable otherwise I'm sure to rip it.
I finished tying up the heels before stepping out, finishing the last strap as I return to the girls.
The second I stepped out, Izzy and Clary's eyes were on me. Both of their mouths dropped, their eyes going wide in shock.
"Ooo la la! Someone looks, hot!" Izzy said, excited and proud.
My head shakes as I roll my eyes with a chuckle as I look into the full length mirror. Getting a good look at the dress, I was right, it was about knee length. Spaghetti straps were stitched down and around my breast area, seeming to make them pop a little no matter how small they were.
The black heels were thankfully wedges. They laced up my foot and stopped right above the ankle, seeming to match the top of the dress.
Even I had to admit, as much as I hated dresses, this was hot! I've never felt so...
My thoughts were cut off by Jace's voice, "Someone looks badass."
I look up into the mirror, catching Jace standing in the doorway with a light smirk. He's wearing a black button up shirt and black pants that match his shoes. To say he looked good, was an understatement. I mean, when he's in black, he just seems to grasp your eyes in seconds.
Turning my head over my shoulder, I say with an equal light smirk, "You don't look to bad yourself."
Izzy smirks as she walks over to me, looking me up in down like I was her prize possession. "She cleans up well." Her eyes move to my sister who has sat in the big comfortable chair since we walked in. "Come on, Clary. Let's go see if we can find you something more to your liking."
Clary stands, slightly confused as Izzy takes her hand and drags her out of the closet room.
My eyes follow them for a second, my words directing to Jace. "I think Izzy and Clary are on two different planets when they think of what Clary wants." Jace joined me in a chuckle at my words, nodding in agreement.
"At least you look the part of a Shadowhunter." I look down at myself, nodding in agreement before looking up at Jace. His expression changed slightly as he sucked in a breath. "I guess it's pointless for me to ask you to stay behind, while I go meet Magnus by myself."
"Yeah, it would be," I said with a nod, giving him a look that said "Sorry to burst your bubble".
Jace smiles and looks at the ground for a second, letting his breath out through his nose. "Things could get sticky. Magnus is being hunted. You're gonna need a weapon." He reaches into his pocket, pulling out the handle of a seraph blade. Sure enough, the blade appears, lighting up when he hands it to me. "The blade knows you. And you know how to handle yourself."
"I had a good teacher," I said with a genuine smile.
Both of us stop, starring at each other in wonder and amazement. Like we had fought off the baddest demon in the world. When in fact, all we did was change our clothes and lightly flirted a bit.
Well, sort of. I've never been good at flirting so if I was doing it wrong, I had no idea.
Jace looks at the ground, clearing his throat lightly before looking back up at me. He turned slightly, holding out his arm for me to take. I smile, dimension the blade in my hand, before taking his arm and walking with him out of the room.
Jace, Clary, and I find ourselves standing outside the club, in line, that Magnus is supposed to be at. Which also happens to be the club that Jace and I came too, only this time it wasn't full of vampire bikers.
Hopefully.
"Alec and Izzy are patrolling the area," Jace said to me as I waited next to him, Clary stuck slightly behind me.
"Are you sure this is a good idea? Last time we were here, this place was crawling with vampires," I said. I was not looking to get hypnotized or anything like that again.
Jace smiled at my comment, "Relax, all Downworlders hang out here. We just came on vampire night."
"Of course," I said, nodding like it was just a normal thing like Taco Tuesday.
Clary quickly stepped up, looking at me like I was crazy. "Wait, you guys came here?"
Thankfully, Alec and Izzy showed up behinds us. Izzy was quick to wrap her arm into Clary's, pulling her back slightly behind me again.
"All clear," Alec said, his tension still slightly on edge by the looks of it.
Izzy, now wearing the necklace that Hodge gave to her, touched the red diamond. "Do you think red's my color?"
"Iz, with a body like yours, everything's your color," Clary said with a smile.
Nodding, Izzy agreed, "Good point. Damn, I make this necklace look so good."
Alec sighed next to his sister, "Will you take it off? I'm certain Magnus Bane doesn't want drool on his ruby when we make the exchange."
"You know, I wouldn't be so sure. Most men like it when I admire their jewels," Izzy said. Her eyes looked towards Alec, who looked disgusted and shook his head.
"Can you just give it to Jace?"
With a pouting face, Izzy unhooked the necklace from her neck. "You're such a buzzkill," She mumbled, as Jace reached past me and took it from her.
Thankfully, a few short moments later and we were walking into the club. Unlike before, the club was closed up, actually capturing the club type feel. The different color lights flashed around, blinding anyone who looked into them. The music was loud, but not too loud where you couldn't hold a conversation. But the crowds of people, defiantly made it look like a death trap if you stopped moving.
"Blend in. Keep your weapons ready," Jace said to the group, all of us nodding.
Clary, Jace, and I spot Magnus off in the distance, talking with someone. The three of us squeezed through the crowd, making our way to the clearing that was around the man of the hour in our eyes.
"Magnus," Jace said, grabbing his attention and turning the other man away.
The three of us stop in front of him, watching as a smile crosses his face when he looks at my sister. "Clary Fairchild. You've grown into a beautiful young woman." Though, his smiles drops when his eyes move to me, looking at me like he couldn't believe that I was here. All that manages to sleep is my name, his eyes drifting between Jace and I almost nervously.
Quickly pulling his attention back, Clary speak up to Magnus. "Magnus Bane. So you're the one who stole my sister and I's memories."
"At your mother's request. She knew the risk," Magnus says with a shrug. He look at Jace, getting to the point of Magnus agreeing to meet us. "Show me the jewelry, Shadowhunter."
Jace does a quick look around as he pulls out the necklace from his pocket. He holds it out on his hand, watching as Magnus studies it with beautiful eyes. He goes to reach for it, but is sadly disappointed when Jace pulls it back.
"Give Faith and Clary back their memories, and you get the jewelry."
"I have to confirm it's authenticity."
Although I can see the hesitance in his eyes, Jace hands over the necklace.
Magnus takes the necklace softly in his hands, his eyes looking over the diamond. When he turns it, he can't help but smile, ""True love cannot die." Oh, how I've missed this jewel."
"Now, it's your turn to pay up," Clary said.
Slipping the jewel into his pocket without even considering that we noticed, Magnus turns to my sister. "I wish I could retrieve your memories, but I no longer have them."
"What? Where are they?"
"I fed them to a memory demon for safekeeping," Magnus shrugs as if it was no big deal. But in my ears, I hear that he fed Clary's to a memory demon. Which pushes me to ask my own question.
My feet take a small step forward, "What about mine?" The look on Magnus' face as he grabs my eyes tells me everything I need to know. "You do have my memories," I breathe out in a whisper of shock.
Quickly, my demeanor changes to a more determined one. "Give me them back to me and explain what the hell is going on."
Magnus sighs, lightly rolling his eyes, "I can't do that."
"Why not?" I ask, getting angrier with every word.
"I promised your mother I wouldn't..."
My voice cuts him off, raising a bit more. "Well my mother's taken, so now you'll do what I say and give me back my memories."
Almost like he's fighting a battle in his mind, Magnus glances at the ground. "It's not that simple. I can't just wave my hand and make them appear. If Valentine ever captured me, he could torture you and Clary's memories out of me. Just like he tortured Dot."
Clary catches his last words before I do, her mouth parting in shock. "Tortured? Wait, is Dot okay?"
Magnus looks at my sister and me confused, "You don't know? Dot is dead."
"What? How do you know?" I ask, not believing what I was hearing.
"I can't feel her magic anymore," Magnus says, almost looking saddened himself. "Valentine killed her because she would not betray your mother."
Clary took a step back, shaking her head as she mumbled to herself, "Oh, my God."
Magnus looks at my sister, lightly grabbing her arm which puts Jace and I a little on guard. "Come with me, Clary. My lair can offer you protection no Shadowhunter ever could."
"What? The offer doesn't extend?" I asked, making the Warlock look over at me.
"I know where you'd stand," He said. In that minute, I did know. I'd stay right here, right next to Jace. Even if Valentine was right in front of us, I'd stay here is Jace did.
Clary pulls her arm away, shaking her head, "No! No, I'm not going anywhere with you."
"Don't be a fool. Your mother would want you both to live," Magnus says but his eyes don't move towards me.
"Then help me get my memories back from whatever demon you gave them to and bring my sister's back," Clary begged.
The begging in Clary's voice and eyes only makes Magnus sigh. He doesn't look to be giving in, and my thoughts are confirmed when he turns his back towards us. He waves his hands, a portal opening up behind him.
"Look out!" A women's voice yells off somewhere.
I catch sight of one of Alec's arrows flying through the air, hitting a Shadowhunter that was running towards us with a knife. The Shadowhunter drops dead, causing fear to rise in Magnus' eyes.
"Magnus, wait! You're our only hope," Clary said.
"Valentine found us. I warned your mother this might happen," Magnus said. His back turns, his body ready to cross the portal.
My hand quickly grabs his, "Wait..." I start. Suddenly, my right arm starts to burn at the contact with Magnus. A flash of some type of ruin on my arm clouds my mind for a second before the burning rises.
I hiss, pulling my hand back and holding onto my arm as Magnus disappears through the closing portal.
"Faith," Jace says, taking the couple of steps forward so he's standing next to me. He looks at my arm, seeing the light red that surrounds the middle of it. The burning has quieted down, seeming to calm to nothing once again.
"I'm fine," I reassure Jace, unsure of what just happened.
Alec and Izzy quickly come up to us, Alec looking slightly worried, "We should go before more Circle members show up."
Jace nods in agreement, "Alec's right." His eyes look towards Clary who is frozen in her spot. Her eyes look like they're about to fill with tears as she stares off at the ground. Jace speaks up, hoping to grab Clary's mind again. "Clary, we have to go."
The five of us leave out the back, the air seeming to calm any burning left in my skin. My feet pause when Clary stops just outside the back door. I sigh, turning towards her as the group comes to a halt. "Clary, we have to get going."
Clary looks at me, revealing her eyes that are already full of tears. She looks slightly angry, sad, and confused. "How are you just fine about this? Dot's dead! And it's our fault!"
"I know, but us standing here yelling about it isn't going to do anything. If Valentine and his men get here, then all of this was for nothing, Clary."
Alec speaks up, "It was for nothing. Not only did Magnus not get your sister's memories back, but he's holding yours captive. And, he took the necklace."
I turn towards Alec, starting to go cold with him, "Don't you think I know that? Clearly you're forgetting who he said that too."
Shaking his head with a fake laugh, Alec warns, "You better watch it, little girl."
Before I can speak up, Jace is stepping in between us, yelling at his friend. "Alec! Her name's Faith, and I highly suggest you keep your voice down."
Alec scuffs, "Why? What, are you afraid I'm gonna upset her? We have risked our lives again and again for these two, and where has it gotten us? Nowhere. We're no closer to getting the Mortal Cup. And we've lost the Institute's necklace."
Clary spoke up, angry as she begins to cry, "I don't care about your damn jewelry. I'm sorry you're gonna look bad in front of your bosses, okay? But our mother is still missing and our last chance at finding her just disappeared into thin air."
I look towards my sister, my voice calming down some in hopes it'll do the same for her. "Clary, we'll figure it out-"
"No, we won't! Don't you see that? Magnus will never come out of hiding again while Valentine is still after him. We're never gonna find him. And we'll never get our memories back."
Jace shakes his head at Clary, "You give up way too easy."
All of us turn to look at him, watching as he pulls out a button from his pocket. He steps over to the side as he talks. "I stole it off of Magnus when he took the necklace." He pulls out his stele, forming a ruin in the air, before closing his hand around the button. He closes his eyes in concentration.
"What is he doing?" Clary asks?
"He's tracking Magnus. Be quiet and keep your distance," Alec said, all of our eyes on Jace. I notice he's seeming to struggling, unable to locate Magnus.
Letting out a sigh and shaking his head, Jace opens his eyes, "No. The signal's not strong enough. Magnus must be blocking the track."
With everything that's been going on with Jace and me, I can't help but hope I can help. It sounds stupide, only being a Shadowhunter for a short period of time, but like Clary said before, I seem to know more about things.
"Can I help?" I asked, causing Jace to look over at me.
Alec scuffs behind me, "Do you even know what he was doing?"
"No..." I answered, honestly. My feet move ahead, stopping in front of Jace's turned body. "...But he can show me."
Jace lets out a breath, nodding as he looks hopeful, "Okay. Take my hands, focus on the button, on Magnus. Picture him like he's standing in front of you." I take Jace's hands, the button felt in my left one.
Both of our eyes close, our minds pull together like two shadows absorbing one another. I can see Magnus, passing slightly as he holds his finger to his lip in thought. Then, the picture pulls back, revealing the building that he's located in.
When my eyes open, I notice Jace does the same. Both of our eyes turn gold for a second before fading back to normal. The burning in my arm happens again, causing me to hiss slightly and pull my hand back.
"Got him," Jace says, releasing both of my hands. He looks at my arm, the burning starting to calm again as the redness lingers. "You okay?" Jace asks for the hundredth time it seems.
Growing irritated with this burning on my arm, I say, "Yeah, let's just find him." Both Jace and I turn back towards the group, all three of them looking at us surprised. Like they noticed something we didn't.
Nothing is said or commented as we all head out to the location.
So I lied, the next chapter will reveal what is going on between Jace and Faith. I didn't know how the chapters would fall and this is how. I'm so excited to hear your reactions on the big reveal!
Next update should be Wednesday! Let me know what you want to see more of and less of.
