It was already late, and San is still contemplating whether to join Mingi or stay at home. He's quite sketchy since he doesn't know the seniors yet, but they seemed kind by the way they talked yesterday. His class has already ended, and he's walking through the hallway.
In the hallway, there isn't much to point out. It's just a typical college life. There're students who are gossiping, students that are cheering, and some students that are studying. San believes he cannot join those friend groups, he hates speaking.
"Hey!" Mingi called, running from behind. San looked at him, smiling. "Change of mind?" The younger asked, walking beside him. The elder sighed, he wanted to think it through, but the event will start in two hours.
San sighed, "I'm kinda scared. Will I be okay?" He asked the younger. Mingi thinks, and answered, "Realistically or for assurance?" The elder was confused, for assurance? Does he mean to lie but for him to be assured?
"Well, realistically speaking, there might be some unforeseen circumstances, but I believe we will be fine. For assurance, I know that everything will go smoothly." The blonde stated, putting the black-haired in ease. He breathes out, he hopes that everything will be okay. "Alright, I'll join."
Mingi smiled, "Let's get something to eat! Come over to my house for some dress up!" Seeing Mingi excited made San anticipate the event. Back in his old school, he never felt included, reason why seeing Mingi makes him happy. The elder nodded, and happily walked with the younger.
"Hey, get up there, lazy pants!" Jongho called, making Wooyoung glare who was busy smoking under the tree. "Ugh, you smell shit!" The younger scowled, "Oh shut up! If you're here to insult me, leave!" Wooyoung retorted, earning a chuckle from Jongho.
The two of them laughed, and the black-haired stood up. It was already Jongho's dismissal and Wooyoung waited for him so he could drive him home.
"Prepare for the party, alright? I'll fetch you later." Jongho reminded, walking towards Wooyoung's car. The elder nodded, opening the door of his car and entered.
On their way to Jongho's house, Wooyoung felt a little anxious. He might bump into someone on the party who was under his scheme before. He breathes out, trying to shrug off the negative feeling in him.
"Should I really join? I feel like.. it's not necessary at all. I'm not even a transferee, on the top of that, what will benefit I'll get from this event?" Wooyoung asked, his voice kinda shaky. Shaky not because he is scared, but because he spoke too fast.
The red head rolled his eyes, "Yes, you should join. There was no rule that only transferees can join. And you will get benefit from this one." He replied, fixating his eyes on his phone. Before the elder could speak, the younger stopped him, "We will know the benefit by the time we're there." Jongho stated, not sparing Wooyoung a glance.
"This is so messy!" Wooyoung thought, gripping hard on his steering wheel. He didn't know that his past actions could take toll on his mental wellbeing, but what he did was just to benefit him because they used him, right?
"Oh no! The consequences of my actions!" Jongho mocks the elder whose mind is spiraling in frustration. Wooyoung sent him death glares, but the younger did not bother.
"Can you not!? The reason why I did that is because they are taking advantage of me!" Wooyoung stated, defensive. He was sweating hard even though the AC of his car is turned on. He felt nauseous, couldn't understand why.
The red head huffs, "Yeah, for your own benefits. But look, who's getting crazy? You!" Jongho replies, his tone a bit irritated.
"Of course! Because I don't have any intention except just for them to taste their own medicine, and suddenly I am the bad guy!?" Wooyoung snapped, "Those people won't care! They only thrive because they use people as steppingstones! They can NEVER genuinely thrive!" He added, his voice getting louder.
And here they are again. Jongho had already told Wooyoung to stop helping people if he doesn't want to, but the latter just kept justifying that he will teach them a "lesson" after.
Jongho heavily sighed. "You never learned." He stated, looking outside. Wooyoung sat there, silent. He snapped again, he did it again.
"I'm sorry." Wooyoung muttered, gulping. He felt bad, why is he treating Jongho this way? Why is he so mad?
Jongho looked at him, "I know you've been through. I understand. We're friends, right? Calm down." He answered, "I apologize for the way I talked as well." The red head added, earning a small smile from Wooyoung.
San was sitting at Mingi's bed, while the blonde was searching for clothes to wear when Mingi's mother knocked on the door.
"Hey children, I'll be out, okay? There is food downstairs, you can eat them!" Mingi's mother says and smiled. She looks like she's in her 40s, but in reality, she is almost 60.
"Okay, mama! Take care!" Mingi answered. His mother waved goodbye and left.
The two started searching on Mingi's enormous closet. There were tons of choices but doesn't seem to fit to their aesthetics. It was easy for the younger to look something, but it was difficult for San. He hates being overly covered due to the temperature.
The blonde sighed, "Have you found what you want to wear?" He asked, brushing his locks. The elder nodded, "Not really what I want, but I know that it will fit the theme later." San replied, holding a bunch of clothes. It stopped Mingi, "There's a theme?!" He shouted, surprised. "There is no "theme". I just wanted my clothes to fit in for the party later." The elder replied and laughed.
San was standing by the door when Mingi came out. The latter was wearing a white tank top and a colorful polo shirt with palm tree designs. On the other hand, San is wearing black shirt that has a palm tree print. Out of five shirts, he thinks that it suits him best.
"You're so basic." Mingi jokingly says, pulling down his sunglasses. The elder laughed as a response and walked towards the younger's car.
"Come down, Wooyoung!" Jongho called. The red head was wearing a white top, over his head is a bucket hat, and khaki colored shorts. Wooyoung, on the other hand, is only wearing a white sando, and dark brown shorts.
As the black haired comes down, he was met by his mother.
"Where are you going?" She asked lovingly. Her voice sweet as her newly baked chocolate cupcake. Jongho adores Mrs. Jung. She's beautiful, kind, and loving.
Wooyoung smiled at her, "To a party. Held by seniors." He replied with same the voice. Mrs. Jung smiled, "Take this. It was supposed to be for your father, but he left too soon." She lamented, the sweetness of the voice stills. Jongho and Wooyoung took all the 12 cupcakes she baked, and waved goodbye.
On the car, Jongho and Wooyoung were busy munching the chocolate cupcakes.
"These are so good. My father is such an asshole." Wooyoung states, munching another one again. Jongho just laughs and continues to eat.
