truly possible
San rests at the gazebo. He is busy reading notes from his Language Research class. After the night he came out to his parents, he has been feeling extra comfortable. It's like a large thorn being pulled out from his heart. He is happily reading his notes, concentrated, and absorbing the lessons thoroughly.
"This is kind of easy," he smiled, flipping the previous page. While reading, he noticed three students playing in front of the gazebo. They were happy playing. Given their attitude and aura, he assumed that these students were Year 1.
His focus went from his notes to the students. He watches in awe, smiling as the younger students smile.
"Hi! Do you want to join us?" Called by a female student, waving her hand at him. His heart is happy just by watching them, what more if he joins them? So, he stood up and closed his notes. He dashed towards the students' location.
San smiled, "So, what are the mechanics?" He asked, making the three smile.
Wooyoung halted as he noticed San playing with the students. He seemed happy and carefree. Watching San made his heart thump again. Oh, why does it happen?
The younger walked closer to watch them more clearly. San looks so handsome, Wooyoung thinks. The sun rays hitting the other's skin, making him glow, his features standing up the most. San was sparkling like glitter, and the three students acted like children who were showering the elder more glitter. The younger's heart thumped, his face heating up-- was it because of the sun? Or somebody's son?
"Hello! Do you want to join us?" The lady asked, walking closer to Wooyoung. San halted and looked at the lady and the younger's direction. He smiled and signaled the other to join them. Wooyoung nodded and quickly placed his papers in his bag. He instantly put his bag in the gazebo to play with the others.
The five played like children, they were laughing and cursing each other out--since Wooyoung and San had told them to be comfortable around them. The Year 1 students have finally eased. They were not scared of higher years anymore.
"Thank you for joining us! We really enjoy being with you, guys," the lady says, smiling as she looked at the two tall men. The younger boys nodded in agreement, smiling from ear to ear.
Wooyoung and San smiled at the three. Soon, they left chattering with each other. The two were left by the gazebo, and the silence was loud. It's not that they aren't close anymore, it's just that San feels kind of awkward, realizing that he is in a journey of knowing his feelings towards Wooyoung—and Wooyoung is there, beside him. The moment instantly suddenly sunk in him. It's just the two of them left.
"Are you busy? I haven't seen you around lately," the younger asked, looking at him. The elder shakes his head, he couldn't focus.
San smiled, "Yep...!" He trails off, feeling nervous as the latter obviously sees that he is acting different. Wooyoung raised one of his eyebrows, "Are you okay?" He asked, concerned painted all over his face.
"I think.. I'm going insane," San thought, scratching his nape. He nodded as a response and gave the younger an assuring smile to put him in ease. San couldn't think of any verbal response, he might just mess it up or tell him some nonsensical things but an answer to his question.
Wooyoung didn't bought his answer, but he didn't probe into it anymore.
"What's your next class? I'm going to my Modern Physics class later," The younger questions, walking to the gazebo and was immediately followed by the elder. The two sat down, the distance between them was quite long, given how close they were for past few days. Usually, there's no space, or an inch left between them.
This confused Wooyoung, it's like San is avoiding him, and he doesn't know why. Did he do anything wrong? First, San wasn't answering him properly, now he is distant. What's next? He sighed, which was unnoticed by the other.
San breathes, "Oh! I don't have classes. I'd probably be just in Mingi's organization room, watching the junior do their tasks," He replied, his voice unfocused, shaking. He was visibly avoiding any eye contact from Wooyoung. Which just added to the other's conclusion.
When Wooyoung was about to speak, a group of Year 2s approached him and San. One has a blonde hair, one has red hair, and the last one has a brown hair. He was familiar with them, it's his circle of friends. Choi Yeonjun, Choi Jongho, and Seo Changbin.
"Finally! We've been searching for you everywhere, Young!" Changbin exclaimed. Yeonjun and Jongho nodded in agreement.
San knitted his eyebrows. He wasn't familiar to the two, but he knew them from his Linguistic class. They seemed familiar to each other, he assumes it's Wooyoung's circle of friends.
"Hi, San!" Yeonjun greeted, smiling cheekily at him. He knows that Yeonjun is a sweet boy, he's a gentleman that helps every teacher to wrap up their materials and lesson plans when leaving their room. He also loves to share his gum to his classmates, reason why Yeonjun knows San.
San smiled back, "Hi, Yeonjun," he responded, giving the same energy to the elder.
"Hi, San!" Another man called, and it was Changbin, waving at him like a kid. San smiles, "Hello, Changbin," he replied calmly, like a mother who greets to kids. Changbin, on the other hand, is a very chaotic student who loved creating troubles for his classmates. He loves teasing them, and joking with them, hence he's popular among the Year 2 students.
Wooyoung watched the three exchange a few conversations. He's surprised that he knows the two, especially since they are both irregular.
The three sat down, Jongho was unusually quiet. Changbin and Yeonjun sat down as well, but turned quiet when the youngest didn't speak.
"Something happened?" Wooyoung broke the silence, earning a slow nod from Jongho, his head hung low. The atmosphere suddenly grew tense, which didn't go unnoticed for San.
Wooyoung breathes, "Is it your ex again?" He questioned, his voice serious and stern. This pinched something on San's brain. It's not the weird way, but, the seriousness on Wooyoung's voice makes him scarier than he is.
Jongho hasn't answered yet, but San knew it was his mentioned ex. He saw how Yeonjun and Changbin behaved while watching Wooyoung keep his composure.
"I'll talk to him. You three can return to your classes," The latter spoke, his stern voice stills. Jongho, Yeonjun, and Changbin left without silently, no protest. Then, Wooyoung left, which crushed San's heart a little. He could've said a simple goodbye, but he left without saying anything.
San frowned and exhaled loudly. He felt ignored, but he understands. Jongho was being bothered, and Wooyoung needed to step up for his best friend.
The elder slowly stood up and dragged his feet away from the gazebo, suddenly, he's sad.
"Sure, he's serious, but was a simple goodbye was hard? Why am I even upset," San thought, walking down the hallway. His eyes wanders as he talks to himself inside his head, he was searching for Mingi's organization room.
As he reached his destination, he closed the door shut and sat down. He turned on the room's AC and pulled out his Linguistic notes once again to review them. Well, there's nothing much to do for now since the juniors haven't arrived yet.
"REALLY!? That's all!?" Changbin shouts, wide-eyed shocked. Jongho and Yeonjun were also shocked, as they heard the black-haired's story.
Wooyoung 'tsked', "Shut it," he hissed, Changbin immediately covering his mouth, while Yeonjun and Jongho tried to keep their laughter.
They are currently in the auditorium, waiting for their Applied Physics teacher. There were students who were side eyeing them since Changbin has been speaking loudly non-stop.
"You just spoke to him, nothing more, nothing less?" The brown-haired asked, still in shock. Wooyoung rolled his eyes and nodded. The three couldn't believe what they were hearing, Wooyoung? Only speaking to those bullies?
"Wow. I'm— no, us, we were surprised," Jongho stated, earning an eyebrow raise from Wooyoung.
The black-haired pulled out his Applied Physics textbook and started reviewing. "He won't bother you anymore," he says, not sparing the three a glance. He continued to read and turn the page as if it wasn't a major change for him.
The three noticed his change. They were surprised that there were no reports of pranks for a week. Has the Jung Wooyoung really stopped? Or he's just waiting for a students to push his buttons and do what he did before?
"Wow... I'm amazed..." Yeonjun trailed off, earning a nod of agreement from Jongho and Changbin who was writing and scrolling through their phone.
Not an hour passed, Mr. Moon—their Applied Physics teacher—entered the auditorium.
