Arnav was pacing back and forth as he roared into his phone, commanding Aman Mathur to hunt down Anirudh Malhotra without delay. He made it clear that he only wanted to hear a positive response and emphasized the urgency of the work. Threatening him with consequences from ASR if he failed, he said, "I want nothing but him, Aman Mathur." Saying this, he ended the call abruptly and angrily tossed his phone aside, fuming over how Anirudh had managed to evade capture.
He was lost in his thoughts when a gentle but uncertain knock on the door caught his attention. Annoyed by the interruption, he sternly demanded to know who was outside. Khushi felt a chill run down her spine upon hearing his serious tone, which was quite unusual for her. She sensed that something was amiss and that he was upset. Despite her fear of his anger, she timidly identified herself, "Nannav, it's me, Khushi." Upon hearing her voice, he gathered himself and invited her inside. She entered tentatively, observing him with irresolute eyes as she tried to discern what was bothering him. Concerned by her silence, he came closer, cupped her cheeks, and asked lovingly, "What's wrong, my love? Why are you so quiet? Have you come to tell me something?"
"That's exactly what I wanted to ask, Arnavji. What's the matter? What happened suddenly to make you so worried? You've been looking troubled ever since that phone call. You haven't been yourself. You haven't even eaten your breakfast properly. You didn't even answer Dadiji's question. What's going on, Nannav? What's bothering you so much?" Khushi asked curiously.
Even though he didn't show his emotions, she noticed that he seemed worried and troubled. She wanted to know what was bothering him and why he wasn't his usual self. Arnav seemed startled by her question, but he didn't let his emotions show on his face. He said, "It's just some business issues, Khushi, nothing else. Let's have breakfast; I'm famished," he said, brushing off her concern and heading towards the door, avoiding her gaze. But before he could step out, she grabbed his hand, stopping him in his tracks. Arnav closed his eyes in despair and remained still. Khushi gently moved towards him and, with a soft touch, tried to pry open his clenched fist.
Khushi gazed directly into his eyes and told him, "Nannav, if you're not ready to open up, that's okay. Just please don't lie. It's not your strong suit, and I know it's not just business that's stressing you out. Take your time to share when you feel comfortable. I won't pressure you. I just don't want to see you so worried. I get it."
She reassured him and was about to move out of the room, but just before she could pull her hand away, Arnav embraced her tightly, pulling her close. Khushi was taken aback when Arnav suddenly pulled her into a hug, but soon understood that he was in need of comfort. This made her believe that his concern was more than just a usual business worry. Without hesitation, she reciprocated the hug and did her best to offer him solace. "What should I tell you, Pari! How can I tell you that your culprit has slipped through our fingers? I've already hurt you once by telling you about your bitter past; I do not want to hurt you further by divulging that your parents' murderer has escaped from my clutches. I'm sorry, Pari... I'm truly sorry," he murmured incoherently.
Khushi's comforting words cut through his anxiety. "Don't exert yourself so much. Whatever it is, I believe everything will be okay. MY NANNAV will make everything alright. So, please, Nannav, just try to smile a bit! For me... for your Pari." After breaking their embrace, Khushi gazed into his eyes and spoke all these with a small smile playing on her lips. She had barely finished her sentence when Arnav captured her petal-soft lips with his own. It wasn't fueled by passion but by gratitude, as he was unsure how else to convey his feelings.
The thing that had been weighing so heavily on his mind-the guilt he felt-Khushi had resolved in a single moment. She was taken aback by the sudden move, but she eventually placed her hands on the back of his neck and drew him closer. As he gently nibbled on her lips and explored her mouth with his tongue, she experienced a pleasurable sensation. Surprisingly, she reciprocated by nibbling on his lips as well, and they both enjoyed the intimate moment. Arnav held onto her neck firmly with his left hand as she quivered like a leaf. He let out a soft moan as Khushi sensually caressed his neck, causing a reaction in his lower body. They lost themselves in each other, letting go of all inhibitions. Moving slowly and sensually, they explored each other's bodies with gentle touches. Arnav's caress made her shiver with pleasure, and she ran her fingers delicately over his neck. Pulling her close, he embraced her passionately, trying to become one with her. He was kissing her feverishly until it dawned on him that they both needed oxygen to survive.
He reluctantly broke the kiss, gasping for breath. Arnav leaned his forehead against hers, looking at her blushing face in silence. Unable to meet his intense gaze, Khushi shyly closed her eyes. Witnessing her bashful response, Arnav smiled a little and said, "And that's why I nickname you Pari. Do you know the meaning of Pari? It signifies an angel-a celestial being capable of dispelling all troubles and worries with a mere touch." Khushi blushed, listening to this, and hugged him tightly.
Just as they were about to speak further, there was a sudden knock on the door, causing Arnav to feel annoyed at the interruption. Despite Khushi's attempts to pull away from the embrace upon hearing the knock, Arnav held onto her, expressing his need for her presence at that moment. "Ummm... no... not yet... I need my angel right now." In response, Khushi jokingly assured him, "Why just now? Your Pari is yours for life, Arnavji!" This light-hearted moment was interrupted as Arnav broke the hug abruptly and gazed at Khushi as if trying to look for something. Khushi got restless when she noticed a hint of moisture in the corner of his eyes and asked, "What's wrong, Arnavji?" Tenderly caressing her face, he replied, "Nothing, meri jaan. It's just that today, for the first time, you declared that you belong to me now and forever. It caught me by surprise and made me a bit emotional. Nothing to be restless about, my love."
The continuous knocking on the door interrupted their romantic moment, prompting Khushi to separate from Arnav and suggest they see who it was. "Enough of romance for now, Nannav. We should go and see who it is. And you need to have breakfast too, right? So come on."
Arnav reluctantly agreed and said, "Hmm, let's go and check who's dying to meet me!" Khushi playfully hit his hand in response to his comment, which made him chuckle. As he was about to leave to check on something, Khushi stopped him. She turned him towards her, held his face gently, and asked with a worried expression, "Are you feeling better now?"
Arnav smiled gently and assured her, "As long as my Pari is with me, no trouble can touch me. Don't worry, I'm absolutely fine now. Thank you for coming here and taking care of me!" Hearing this, Khushi gave him a beautiful smile. Arnav was about to kiss her again when they heard another knock. This time, Arnav closed his eyes in frustration and muttered, "If it's Ammy, I'll kill him!" Khushi couldn't help but laugh at his exasperation.
Arnav glared at her, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration and amusement. "Are you finding this amusing?" he asked, his voice tinged with sarcasm. Khushi couldn't help but burst into a fit of giggles, nodding her head in agreement. She quickly rushed toward the door to open it.
Arnav followed closely behind, shaking his head in disbelief. Seeing Khushi, his little Pari, acting so childishly again brought a sense of joy and relief to his heart. Despite the difficult circumstances they had faced, moments like these reminded him of the innocence and happiness that still existed within their relationship. "Now, all I need to do is introduce you to your long-lost brother and ensure that those who have wronged you are held accountable," Arnav said, determination shining in his eyes. He had carried the burden of guilt since the moment he realized he couldn't be there for Khushi when she needed him the most. But now, with the opportunity to make things right, he felt a glimmer of hope that the weight on his heart would finally be lifted.
As Aman was about to shout at Arnav upon opening the door, he stopped dead in his tracks. A beaming Khushi was standing there, her laughter ringing out. Aman felt a surge of happiness at the sight of her infectious joy. He couldn't say he was happier than Arnav, but he was certainly no less delighted. True, he hadn't witnessed Khushi's childhood and hadn't been there for her growing-up years, but since they'd met, he'd considered her no less than his own little sister.
Aman's heart swelled with affection for Khushi. It was amazing how she had entered their lives and become an inseparable part of their family. Her genuine laughter and radiant smile had the power to brighten even the gloomiest of days. Aman cherished every moment spent with her, treasuring the bond they had formed in this short span of time. Although he hadn't been there for Khushi's upbringing, he had made it his mission to support and protect her, just like an older brother would.
Aman had embraced her as a part of his own family, and now he couldn't imagine a life without her infectious energy and loving nature. Since the day he met her, he had decided that he would always be there to lend a listening ear, offer advice, and provide a shoulder to lean on. He would become Khushi's confidant and trusted friend.
At that moment, Aman realized that family wasn't solely defined by blood relations. It was the love, care, and support they shared that truly mattered. Khushi had become an integral part of his life, and he was grateful for the opportunity to be her guardian and protector. As Aman's gaze met Khushi's, he couldn't help but smile. He knew that someday their bond would be unbreakable, and he was determined to continue being the rock she could always rely on. Together, they would navigate the ups and downs of life, creating even more cherished memories along the way.
Seeing Aman standing there, Khushi couldn't help but burst into laughter once again, recalling Arnav's frustration. Aman, still puzzled, asked, "What's so funny, Bhabhi? Why did you suddenly start laughing when you saw me?" Khushi shook her head, but her smile persisted. Aman, feeling self-conscious, touched his face while muttering to himself, "Is there something on my face? I did check the mirror earlier before leaving, and I thought I looked quite handsome. Then what happened to Bhabhi?" Before Khushi could respond, Arnav interjected from behind, "Normal people laugh when they watch monkey's antics."
Khushi turned around, startled by Arnav's sudden comment. She looked at him with a mix of surprise and confusion. Arnav, with a mischievous smile on his face, continued, "I mean, a monkey is such a funny little creature with its playful and amusing behaviour. It's hard not to laugh, right?" he taunted Aman, who scowled at his friend. Khushi couldn't help but chuckle at Arnav's lighthearted remark. Arnav and Aman couldn't help but notice the smile on Khushi's face. They loved seeing her happy and carefree.
Khushi shook her head and said to Aman, "Nothing like that, bhai. He's just teasing you. He's just jealous of you, that's all, because I love you more than him, na." She stuck her tongue out at Arnav teasingly while side-hugging Aman playfully. Aman patted her head, "Bhabhi, always stay happy like this." Khushi nodded and left after asking them to come down for breakfast. She sensed that Aman had some important matters to discuss. However, she had already fulfilled her role. Even for a brief moment, she could make Arnav forget his worries. Now, it would be wise to give them space.
After Khushi left:
Aman said, looking at the happy form of Khushi, "Bhabhi looked absolutely radiant, Arnie. Make sure you keep her happy like this always." Arnav's expression became serious as he nodded. "So, what's the latest update on Anirudh? And how did he manage to evade us?" Aman grimaced and recalled, "Remember the day we sent Garima the initial video of her daughter?" Arnav nodded, encouraging Aman to elaborate. "That day, Garima reached out to him and disclosed that you, the ASR, are her son-in-law. After that, he turned off his phone and went into hiding."
"But you don't worry, Arnie. I understand your worry and frustration, but I can assure you that we are doing everything in our power to find him. I have a team actively searching for him, using all the resources at our disposal. He will be found and brought to you soon, I promise. We won't let him slip away and will leave no stone unturned until we have him in our custody. Where could he possibly be hiding from us? Rest assured, I'm confident that we'll locate and bring him here. You trust me, right?" Aman delineated everything he could of this matter.
Arnav nodded and sighed heavily. "So please, have faith in me and don't worry too much. We will find him. You just concentrate on Bhabhi and your reception tomorrow. Okay?" Aman enjoined his friend. Arnav acknowledged his words, "I trust you, Ammy. And Ammy, I understand what you wanted to say, but somehow, I couldn't shake this strange feeling off. I fear that if we don't act quickly, something terrible might happen to..." His voice trailed off as emotion overwhelmed him. Aman could see the fear and desperation in his friend Arnav's eyes as he expressed his worries about Khushi. He could sense the overwhelming love Arnav had for his wife and his fear of losing her once again. As Arnav's voice trailed off, Aman embraced him, understanding the depth of his feelings. It was clear that Arnav's fear was consuming him, and Aman knew he had to do something to reassure him. As he pulled away from the embrace, he firmly reminded Arnav that nothing would happen to Khushi and that he would never lose her again. With tears in his eyes, Arnav nodded like a child, reassured by Aman's words. The love and bond between these two friends were evident, and it was clear that they would do anything to protect each other's loved ones.
After talking to each other, they went downstairs to have breakfast. After that, Arnav was about to go to the office when Aman forbade him to do so and ordered him to spend some time with his wife before her brother hijacked her, earning a scowl from him. After a light banter, Aman turned serious and informed, "Achcha listen, now that Jenny has sent that video to Garima, what do you expect from her? I mean, what reaction are you expecting, now that Anirudh has also vanished from the scene as of now?" As he flashed a sly smirk, his words dripped with a hint of mischief and satisfaction. "Nothing much," he said innocently, but his eyes gleamed with amusement. "Now that Garima can't contact Anirudh, she'll have no choice but to go to his house to find him. What else could she possibly do?" His tone was filled with smug certainty as he revelled in the chaos and drama he had created. He knew Garima's persistent nature and her determination to find Anirudh would lead her straight to his doorstep. With a satisfied chuckle, he leaned back in his chair, eagerly anticipating the events that were about to unfold due to his cunning plan.
Aman gaped at him and shook his head disbelievingly, "You're a devil, you know that, right?" Arnav just smiled smugly at the compliment.
