J I M I N

It's already been a while after we found out we're expecting. Mina went on hiatus when it started becoming too obvious. We agreed that we don't want to announce it until it's done, so JYPE just said that Mina is on hiatus for "medical reasons."

I can take some time off, too, but not a lot. I can only take two months off all at once, but I can still be here with Mina as much as possible. I'm going to use the two months to be there before and when our baby is born.

We find out the gender next month. I'm not hoping for any specific one, I'll be happy with either and I know Mina feels the same way.

We already started thinking about a few possible names. We both liked the idea of having "Min" in the name. "Min" usually means "quick" or "clever", which are both good qualities, but I'm not focusing too much on that part.

For possible girl names, we're thinking about Minseo or Minseol, Soomin, or Yeonmin.

For boy names, we were thinking either Minjun, Minchul, Minchan, or Changmin.

I kind of want to wait until the baby is born to choose a name to see which name suits them when we actually get to meet them.

It's the middle July right now, and the baby's due in January. That's not very far.

I still can't believe I'm going to be a dad. I'm gonna be the best dad ever. I'm going to make sure our kid has the best life. I think it's finally hitting me.

I'm not worried about having this kid. I'm more worried about how I'm going to take care of them and raise them while I'm still working.

This is more of a last resort, but if I absolutely have to...I'm willing to leave the group. This is not my first choice, I swear! I'll do anything and everything else before that.

Maybe for a while, I can just work from home, but I'll have to miss out on traveling so much. Or maybe I can consider doing something else for a bit, like acting, or having a temporary solo career. See, these solutions are temporary, but BTS is already an old group. Jin-hyung got discharged from the military recently which means others will probably have to leave soon. If I were to leave the group to raise a kid, I don't think I can be back before BTS disbands and our idol careers are over.

BTS doesn't have much time left and I'm sure Twice is in a similar situation right now. It's hard to think about all of it. I've been avoiding the thought for so long, but it just keeps getting closer and closer. I think living a predominantly normal life is going to feel weird, but maybe it's what I've been needing. Actually, living a quiet life sounds nice right about now.

But you can't reverse what's already been done. No matter what decisions we make, we're still celebrities and we were still part of the biggest music groups in Korea. I'm just trying to keep my family safe.

We don't even know the baby's gender yet, but my members are already competing to be the "best uncle".

"We can babysit for you!" Tae suggested.

"I don't know about that..."

"Come on, we'll be the uncles that aren't really uncles." Hobi laughed.

"Kids are difficult."

"They don't have to be."

"We'll spoil them."

I'm glad they're just as excited as we are. This is a big turning point in my life. I'm grateful I have people here to support me.

I dream about what our life will be like. I hope everything turns out just as good as I dreamed it would.

We've already started getting everything ready before the baby arrives.

Our apartment has an extra room, which I originally used as an office. I don't really use it, so we're turning into the baby room.

Our apartment is also on the third floor so I had to have some of the guys come over to help me haul all the stuff upstairs.

We're waiting to buy all the clothes and things like that until we find out the gender. We just bought the necessary things like a crib, changing table, and a few other furniture items to go in the room.

It's all starting to come together.
