M I N A

Today was the day we'd be joining BTS on that variety show. But before that, we had other promotions to go to.

Our day started pretty early in the morning. We had a sponsor photoshoot and a commercial shoot. After that, we practiced dancing for a while.

Before we had to leave for the show, we washed up and had lunch.

While we were in the car on our way to the studio, I get a text.

Jimin: Annyeong

Jimin: are you on your way here?

It was Jimin-sunbaenim, but I was confused why he texted me privately instead of using the group chat.

Mina: Yes, we're almost to the studio

Mina: but Jimin-sunbaenim,

Jimin: hm?

Mina: why did you message me separately instead of texting our group chat

Jimin: oh? Did I?

Jimin: my apologies Mina-ssi

Jimin: I guess I just saw your name and thought it was the group chat

Jimin: anyways, sorry again, see you soon

I don't know, but something about this wasn't adding up to me.

But we got to the studio a few minutes early. BTS was already there.

"Woah, look who made it!" Hoseok gets up from his seat as he sees us walk in.

"So nice to see you all again." Jihyo greets them.

We chat and catch up a bit before the staff gave us our scripts, though they weren't really scripts, more like concepts of how they wanted the show to go. Usually they just let us say what we want.

They had planned some games, some interview type sketches, and other activities for us to do.

The show starts recording and I try to look as comfortable/casual/confident as possible.

After introductions and a quick 2x speed dance break, they had us play another game.

"Since there are only seven BTS members, Jihyo, why don't you pick seven Twice members to play this game with them." One of the hosts explains.

"Me? Ah okay..."Jihyo looks around at all of us.

She starts listing off names, "Let's see...Tzuyu, Momo, Chaeyoung, Dahyun, Sana, Nayeon...and...."

Jihyo looks between Jeongyeon and me. Jeongyeon shakes her head and starts pointing at me.

"Mina."

"Okay. So I'm going to give each of you a number. Someone in the other group has the same number as you. Whoever that is will be your partner for this game." The host goes on.

He hands me a folded slip of paper. I open it to reveal my number.

"Once you find your partner, you two will spin the wheel and get your challenge." The other host moves aside to reveal a big rainbow wheel.

On the wheel were different challenges. There were seven activities: random speed dance, karaoke, limbo, charades, pictionary, random play dance, and a guessing game.

They started calling off the numbers.

"Alright, who has one? Please stand up."

Taehyung and Chaeyoung stand up.

They spin the wheel and get the random play dance activity.

If someone spins and gets the same activity, they spin again.

"Who's our twos?"

Namjoon and Tzuyu both stand. They spun and got limbo.

"Threes?"

Sana and Jungkook stand up. They spin and get charades.

"How about fours?"

Yoongi and Momo get up. They spun and got random speed dance.

"Alright, we're almost done, now fives?"

I stand up and look to BTS. Only Jimin, Seokjin and Hoseok were left without partners.

Jimin stands up. He gives me a soft smile before we walk over to the wheel. I let him spin, and we got karaoke after several spins.

Six were Hoseok and Nayeon, they got the guessing game and seven were Seokjin and Dahyun who got pictionary.

It was fun watching our other members play their games. I couldn't help but smile with Taehyung and Chaeyoung doing the random play dance.

And Namjoon and Tzuyu with limbo, they both had to pass the bar three times, each time the bar getting lower. Tzuyu's height put her at a disadvantage for this one and Namjoon's build wasn't much of a help for them either.

When Jungkook and Sana were playing charades, they both had huge smiles on their faces. They kept laughing while they were trying to guess the word.

Yoongi and Momo's random speed dance was also entertaining. It seemed like Yoongi-sunbaenim had a hard time keeping up with Momo.

And then it was our turn. We had to pick a random number to determine which random song we would sing.

"What do you think we should pick?" Jimin asks me.

"Um...well, my lucky number is thirty-seven, but you can choose."

As I said this, Jimin punched in the number 37 into the remote.

The song was loading. The opening started and the title appears.

GFRIEND - SUNNY SUMMER

Jimin immediately laughs when he sees the song title.

I start the song since Jimin was busy laughing and didn't notice it had started.

Where the song would usually have the Gfriend members' names, Jimin replaced them with ours.

"It’s c-c-c-cold and Jimin is lonely." He sang.

I tried to focus, but I kept smiling and laughing.

"Hey! Sunny Summer!"

"Let's have a good time~"

When we got to one of the higher notes, Jimin looked at me, telling me that "he's got this" with his eyes.

I trusted him and let him take the line. After all, he's been a singer longer than I have.

He looked confident and started strong, but I cringed when his voice strained and then cracked in the middle of the high note.

His eyes widened and he looked worried. I waved, whispering to him, "It's okay, keep going!" and smiled at him. 

He nodded and finished the verse before I jumped back in. 

When we finished the song, Jimin kept apologizing.

"Mina-ssi, I'm sorry, I messed us up." He kept bowing.

Before he could bow again, I stopped him, "I told you, sunbaenim, it's okay! Don't worry, it's just a game. As long as you had fun."

He smiles and nods, "I did. Thanks, Mina-ssi."

We both take our seats to watch the rest of our members play their games.

While we were watching, I kept catching Jimin glancing at me from the corner of my eye. And then I realized I was glancing at him, too.

But anyways, Hoseok and Nayeon were playing the guessing game, which was that sort of game where they ask a question and the two both have to say the same answer at the same time. They did better than I expected.

Seokjin and Dahyun playing pictionary was also very entertaining. Seokjin is pretty good at drawing.

After that long recording session, BTS and Twice had to part ways again. It was fun spending time with them. They're really nice and can make me smile. Laughing with them is always nice.

Before I went to bed, I checked my phone and saw I had another separate message from Jimin-sunbaenim.

Jimin: Mina-ssi

Jimin: just wanted to say sorry again for messing up our song

Jimin: But it was fun singing with u

I message him back.

Mina: sunbaenim~

Mina: stop worrying about that, I told you it's all good :)

Mina: and I had fun too

Jimin: Ah..that's good

Jimin: I have to get to bed. You should rest soon too

Jimin: Good night

Mina: Good night sunbaenim
