Us
M I N A
It's hard to believe that our three year wedding anniversary is coming up soon. It had already been about five years since we started dating and we've known each other far before then too.
Thinking back like this makes me feel old. We're going to be in our thirties soon. BTS and Twice are disbanding soon. It feels like my life is about to take a completely different turn, a new path.
I honestly forgot what it was like before I went into this job. Jimin's been doing this longer than I have so I could only imagine how he feels about all of this.
I get really sad thinking about Twice disbanding. One night after they told us we'd be disbanding soon, we were all together and we had a chat session to express our feelings. Every single one of us cried that night. We made a promise to keep in touch with each other even after we're no longer Twice. We promised to visit each other once in a while because we are still a family. We promised each other that we wouldn't forget about us no matter what.
We'll be disbanding after ten years. BTS is disbanding after their twelfth year. We really have come a long way.
Seeing old videos or photos of BTS and Twice I realize how young we were. We were literally still kids when we debuted.
The other day, Taehyung, Namjoon, and Hoseok came over just to visit and chat. Jimin goes back to work in a few days and if had been a while since they saw him.
"So you guys are really thinking about moving?" Namjoon asks.
I nod, "We have a few spots we're considering."
"In this area? Or are you moving moving?" Hoseok asks.
"The one we're thinking about the most isn't too far from here. If we move, we'll still be near you guys." Jimin says.
The five of us were sitting around the living room. Taehyung was sitting on the floor, holding Minchan.
"How old is he now?" Taehyung asks, referring to Minchan.
"Two months? Right?" Jimin asks, looking to me.
"Yeah, two months since a few days ago." I say.
"Holding Minchan is really making me think about having my own kids some day." Taehyung says.
"I could see it." Hoseok tells him.
"It's your life, Tae. Live while you're young." Namjoon leans back on the couch.
Taehyung made Minchan laugh by making faces at him. Minchan kept trying to reach for Tae's hair.
Hoseok asked to hold him next.
"Wow, he's getting big now." He says, "Minchan~ it's Hobi-hyung."
Minchan just silently stares at Hoseok's bright face.
"You don't want to hold him, hyung?" Jimin asks Namjoon.
Namjoon shakes his head, "I'm okay... I'm too scared I might hurt him by accident."
Jimin had explained to me before that Namjoon has the title "God of Destruction" because he breaks almost everything he touches.
"You're not cursed, hyung." Tae laughs at him.
"I don't wanna risk it." He says.
Jimin leans over onto my shoulder, wrapping his arms around one of mine.
"You two look tired." Tae says.
"We are." Jimin says, "Though Mina's probably more tired than I am."
"Why do you think that?" I ask.
"Well because you already went back to work and when you come home you help take care of Minchan. I just stay home." He explains.
"Yeah, but you work just as hard as I do." I say.
"What are you going to do when Jimin goes back to work too?" Hoseok asks.
"Ah..." Jimin looks at me, "We'll need to find someone to look after him. We were thinking about asking my parents for help."
They nod.
"Well you won't need a babysitter for long." Namjoon sighs.
The atmosphere on the room gets gloomy all of a sudden, everyone silently looking down.
"Sorry...didn't mean to make things depressing." Namjoon says, rubbing his neck.
"It's alright, but I understand what you meant to say." Jimin says.
"We should make BT21 baby clothes." Tae says on a lighter note.
Hoseok slightly laughs, "That would be so cute! Hey, when Minchan gets older, we should see which BT21 character is his favorite."
Jimin laughs.
"Well it would obviously be Chimmy." Taehyung says.
"Who knows? He could choose any one of the eight characters." Hoseok says.
"Eight?" Namjoon asks.
"Yeah, eight." Hoseok starts counting on his fingers, "Koya, RJ, Chimmy, Tata, Cooky, Shooky, Mang, and Van."
"Oh, right, I forgot about Van." Namjoon says.
We talked for hours about everything. The guys had fun playing with Minchan and I was glad they came over to visit.
They eventually had to leave and the apartment was quiet again.
Jimin sighs as we lay in bed, "I hope we can do things like that after we disband."
"I'm sure you will." I say, "They're going to miss you just as much as you're going to miss them."
He shifts around before laying still again, "I'll call my mom tomorrow and ask them about looking after Minchan for a while."
"Okay. Tell me as soon as you find out so I'll know if we have to find another solution."
"Mm." He scoots closer to me.
"Good night, oppa." I say.
"Thank you." He randomly says.
"Thank you?"
"Mhm."
"For what?" I ask.
"For saying yes to that date all those years ago." He says.
"Well, thank you for asking me." I hold his hand in the dark.
"I'm glad I listened to my gut that day." He goes on.
"I am too."
"We wouldn't be here together if it had ended up any differently."
"I can't imagine that." I say.
"Neither can I. It's incredible how a few words could lead us all the way here." His hand stroked my hair.
The two of us were facing each other. It was dark, but within that darkness, I saw his eyes glint in the subtle light from the window.
"I love you, Jimin." I sigh.
He quietly kisses me, "I love you just as much."
