Sakook: Confidence

(Concept: They meet as complete strangers, but somehow, Jungkook has the confidence to make a move)
(Sana POV)
It was pretty late to be having dinner, but my stomach growled as I walked home. I decided to stop at a twenty-four-hour restaurant for something to eat.
It was a small place; it looked like there was only one person working in the front and maybe two people in the back kitchen. I was the only customer.
The boy working as my server seemed young and eager to help me. I thought he was cute, but that's just me using my eyes. I find a lot of people cute, but I usually don't say anything unless it's my friends.
When I got a closer look at him, I noticed he had a lot of tattoos on his hand. He was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, but when I looked, he had more tattoos going up his arm.
I made a comment about this when he brought me my food.
"You have a lot of tattoos. What do they all mean?" I ask.
He chuckles, "Ah, it's a long story. I'll just say I got them because of some very special people in my life."
He rolls up his shirt sleeve for me to see his sleeve of tattoos. I also noticed he was quite muscular; I couldn't really tell before.
"Have you ever thought about getting one?" He asks.
I decided to mess with him a little, "What? You think I don't have any already?"
He stutters, "I-I didn't mean it like that, I just-"
"I'm kidding. You're right. I don't have any."
He calms down and laughs nervously, "Oh, haha. So have you ever thought about it?"
"I have. But I think it'd have to mean a lot for me to actually get one."
He nods, "I see. Well, enjoy your food."
I thought he was just being nice to me because I was eating alone and I was the only customer in the restaurant, but when I went to the counter to pay for my food, he proved me otherwise.
He handed me my receipt before I walked out. I didn't look at it until I was already almost home.
He had left me a message.
I didn't get your name, but I'm Jungkook
Call me sometime? I'd love to get to know you

I smile to myself. So he wasn't just being nice. Maybe he thought I was cute too.
I haven't been on a relationship since high school. I almost forgot what this felt like.
I gave him a call the next day.
"Hello?" He answers.
"Hi, is this Jungkook?"
"Yes, this is him."
"Hi, my name is Sana. We met last night at that restaurant."
"Oh, so that's your name." He laughs, "It was nice meeting you last night, Sana."
We talked for hours over the phone just getting to know each other. At some point, I realize I don't know how old he is, so I ask him.
"Hey, how old are you by the way?"
"Me? I was born in 97." He says.
"No way..."
"What? How old are you?"
"I was born in 96."
"Oh." He sighs, "I thought you were going to say I was too young for you."
"No, no." I insist, "I thought you seemed young, I just didn't think we were so close in age."
"Me too, to be honest. You seemed much more mature than me."
That same day, he asked me out on a date. I couldn't say no.
We went out with each other a few days later. He seemed nervous, but it felt like he really wanted this. The first date was a success, so we went on a few more. It wasn't until our third date that he kissed me for the first time.
Something about him just made me feel safe.
Eventually though, we both got busy with work again and we couldn't go out as much.
It had been a while since we spent some time together so I decided to visit him after work.
He was the only one working in the front again, and I was the only customer in the restaurant again.
He looks up when he hears the door open and he smiles.
"Good evening, miss. Go ahead and take a seat wherever you'd like." He spoke so formally, it made both of us laugh a little.
I ordered two meals and he didn't question it. When he brought the food to my table, I stopped him before he could walk off again.
"Where are you going? I ordered this for you."
He looks around over his shoulder before taking a seat next to me.
"I know you're working, but you don't have to be all professional with me." I say, kissing his cheek.
"I do when my boss might hear me." He whispers, "What are you doing out so late?"
"I was heading home after work, but I was hungry so I thought I'd stop by."
He gives me that look like he didn't believe me.
"And I might have missed you. Just a little bit." I say that last part sarcastically.
He laughs, "I missed you too."
He ate most of his food before he had to get back to work.
"Why don't you come over tonight?" I ask, "I want to spend more time with you."
"I'm actually off in ten minutes." He glances at the clock, "Wait for me?"
_____________
"Do you always work the late shifts?"
"Pretty much. I always get last pick for shifts because I'm the youngest." He says.
We held hands on the way to my place. He was smiling to himself the whole time.
"I love you, Sana."
That was the first time he told me he loved me.
I looked at him, surprised, "You love me?"
He nods, "Do you love me?"
I was caught off guard by his question.
"I do." I say.
He chuckles, "I hope that's not the last time I'll be hearing those words."
He was always like that and that was part of his charm.
His confidence made all the difference.
