(Concept: Taehyung and Tzuyu went to school with each other years ago. Tae pulls out his old yearbook and remembers the girl he'd always admired)

(Taehyung POV)

The day crept by slowly. I didn't have to go into work today and I didn't have much to do at home. It feels like the day should be over already, but I've only been awake for a few hours.

I got bored and started browsing through my bookshelf. Something that was tucked away in the back caught my eye.

It was my high school yearbook.

It was from the same year I graduated. That was so long ago.

I started looking through the pages of my graduating class. I looked so different back then.

I flipped to the pages of the underclassmen and it all started coming back to me.

I made it to the class standout page and that's when it all hit me.

Tzuyu...

My mind wandered.

I really liked her.

I wonder where she is now.

I laugh at myself, remembering how I would try to impress her and give her little gifts in front of her friends.

We weren't best friends or anything, but I did really like her. Although, I never had the courage to tell her that. Even if we never got together, seeing her smile made it all worth it.

Of course, I graduated, leaving her behind, and then I never saw her again.  I just hope she's doing alright.

I was starting to get sad, thinking about everything. I got to the last page of the book and flipped it to read what my classmates wrote on the inside cover.

I read over the messages again. I must have read them at least a thousand times before, but I never got tired of them.

And then I noticed something I hadn't seen before.

It was written in ink the same color as the cover, so it was kind of hard to see. No wonder I never saw it before.

I had to squint to read it, but I couldn't believe my eyes.

Taehyung-oppa,

Thank you for making me laugh and smile all the time. I'm going to miss you. I wish you luck with whatever you decide to do. Don't forget about me.

She left me her phone number all those years ago and I had never found it. I grabbed my phone, but I realized she might not have the same phone number anymore.

It wouldn't hurt to give it a try, though, right?

I carefully dialed in each number and hit call.

My heart started to race, thinking about what might happen next.

It rang a few times and I started to lose hope.

Until,

"Hello?"

I gasped quietly.

Was it her?

Could it really be her?

"H-hello, I'm calling for Tzuyu, is this her?"

"This is her."

I laugh in disbelief.

"Tzuyu? It's me, it's Kim Taehyung." I say, "Remember? From high school?"

"Taehyung? Really? Oh my gosh, how are you? It's been so long." She sounded just as excited as I was.

"I'm good, I'm good. Things are going pretty well for me. What about you? How have you been?"

"I'm good, but wait...how did you get a hold of me? You've never called me before."

"Funny story actually..." I laugh nervously, "I found your number in my yearbook."

"Yearbook..? Oh! I forgot, I signed your yearbook, didn't I?"

"You did. A-and I'm sorry. I never saw what you wrote until today. It was kind of hard to read, I must've missed it at least a thousand times."

"That's kind of my bad as well." She laughs, "I'm glad you found it though, even if you're a few years late."

She was speaking to me so casually. I don't think she knows I had a little crush on her. I never had the courage to tell her back then, so I guess I should tell her now.

"Tzuyu-ssi." I say.

"Yeah?"

"You know how I would make you laugh all the time?"

"Yeah."

"It's a funny story actually," I laugh nervously, "I...I was like that towards you...because I liked you."

I heard her laugh breathlessly on the other end, "I figured."

"Wait, so you knew?" I ask.

"Well...you never told me, but I just assumed that was why you treated me like that. Guess I was right."

I should've known. Tzuyu's too smart to see past something like that.

"Sorry if I embarrassed you back then." I shake my head to myself.

"You didn't really embarrass me," she says, "actually, all my friends were jealous of me."

I paused before I asked her, "So...what did that make you?"

It was quiet on both ends.

I hear her sigh.

"I was young and oblivious. I didn't really see it back then. All I saw was you." She says, "I didn't realize how much I liked you."

Immediately after, we made plans to meet up in person. She lived a few hours away so I would take the train to see her.

After all of these years, I had put aside my feelings for her, but hearing her voice again, I remember how much she meant to me.

We spent an entire day together. It was so much fun, I missed hearing her laugh like that, just like old times. I was sad when I had to go.

"Thanks for coming out today." She says.

"No problem. I'd hang out with you anytime." I smile.

She takes a step closer to me, "I've always wanted to do this, but it wasn't really school appropriate."

"What-"

Before I could finish my sentence, she pulls me down and kisses my lips. My eyes widened in surprise at first, but I let them shut so I could enjoy this moment.

Even if we kissed all those years ago, I don't think it would've compared to this.

I asked her on a date and she surprisingly said yes.

I don't know how we're gonna do this if we live hours away from each other, but I know we'll find a way eventually.

Love always finds a way.
