Yoonghyo: Comfort
(Ship/Concept requested by TwiceTwiceKajjaKajja)
(Concept: Yoongi and Jihyo have been dating for a bit and they like to go out often. On one particular date, Yoongi finds out about Jihyo's phobia)
(Yoongi POV)
"Oppa, are you ready to go?"
"Just a second!"
I quickly throw on my coat and slip on my shoes to meet Jihyo at the door. She was excited and wanted to get going earlier than we originally planned.
She takes my hand as we head out the door. There was a night market going on not too far from our house and we wanted to check it out.
It was a bit chilly out tonight, but Jihyo and I stayed close so I wasn't so cold.
Our dinner was just a bunch of different food items from almost all of the booths. After that, we had to try some of the sweets for dessert.
I picked something that looked good, but the taste ended up being a bit too strong for me.
I took one bite and I couldn't hide my reaction. I must have made a weird face because Jihyo started laughing at me.
"You don't like it?" She asks.
"It's kind of too much for me."
"You're just being dramatic."
I insist that she tries some and she had the same reaction as me.
"See?" I say, laughing, "I'm not being dramatic."
She gives it back to me before walking off, "Well you chose it, so you finish it!"
Here we go again.
We got more than enough to eat so we decided to check out some of the shops and vendors.
We got to the night market when it was just starting, but now there were a lot of people here. It was kind of hard to walk around. We walked out of one of the shops straight into a crowd of people. It caught me off guard.
I was getting pushed around so I assumed Jihyo must be in the same boat. I reach over to link our arms together so we wouldn't get separated. After holding her arm for a moment, I realize she was shaking.
"Oh," I look over at her, "Are you cold?"
I pull her closer to me, thinking she was shivering from the cold.
"No, no." She says, slightly pushing me away, "Let's just get out of this crowd."
It took us a while to get out and away from the crowd. Even when we were away from everyone, she held onto me tight.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"Mm." She nods, releasing my arm, "I just...don't like crowds."
I've never seen her like that before, but now that I think about it, she never really liked being in crowded or small places.
"Are you claustrophobic?"
She just nods.
"There's nothing wrong with that," I say, "I was just wondering."
"Sorry though. I didn't mean to push you away like that."
"It's okay, really. I understand."
She breaks a soft smile before taking my hand again, "Come on, our date's not over yet."
_______________
Our night ended with a nice, quiet walk along the city. Neither of us wanted this night to be over so we took the scenic route home. We don't technically live together, but she stays over at my place very often. I don't mind though. I love spending time with her.
Even when we got home, we stayed up into the night. We did anything to avoid going to sleep. We watched some TV shows, looked at some photos on our phones, and talked. We talked about everything. Sometimes the topics would be silly and pointless, other times, they would be serious and get me thinking.
We haven't been dating for too long, but we've known each other for a while. I didn't realize I had feelings for her until recently. It was awkward at first, and I wasn't planning on telling her, thinking my feelings would just magically go away.
But she started acting differently. I think she must have gotten a sense that I liked her because she started giving me some hints too. That's when I became confident enough to tell her how I really felt.
That night, she talked about her fear of small, tight spaces. I physically could not understand what that felt like for her, but I could try to understand. She asked me if I had any fears like that.
I never really thought about it, but I guess I could say I have a fear of really loud noises, like fireworks. I don't like anything that makes booming noises if that makes sense. I'm fine with the loud noise in a concert arena because it's constant, but when it's a sudden loud noise, that's a different story.
We were both there for each other whenever one of us felt uncomfortable. A lot of things make me nervous, but when she's there, I'm okay.
Jihyo is very outgoing, but she still gets nervous sometimes, just like anyone else.
"When I'm nervous on stage, if I see you in the crowd, I instantly feel energized." She told me.
"Why's that?"
"I want to do my best for you. I want to make you proud."
"I'm always proud of you, Jihyo."
She smiled, "I know. I just can't help it. You light up my heart."
She usually doesn't say cheesy things like that so I couldn't stop myself from chuckling.
"You're so cute." I say under my breath, "I can't believe you're my girlfriend."
"Why's that?" She uses my words.
"Because you're amazing."
