Yoongyeon (YxN) Opposites
(Concept by kimcherries, Yoongi and Nayeon are dating, Yoongi isn't the best at dating or expressing his feelings, but Nayeon is almost the complete opposite)
(Nayeon POV)
I know a lot of people think Yoongi's quiet and he may come off as cold sometimes, but in reality, he's super loveable and easy to talk to.
Sometimes I feel like I'm annoying him when we hang out, but he says he loves spending time together.
I try to push him out of his comfort zone a little bit just to get him to try new things and put himself out there.
Yeah, he's a worldwide renounced idol, but he still gets nervous trying new things, he just needs someone to motivate him.
I had a few hours in between activities so I decided I'd visit Yoongi if he was in his studio.
N: hey what are u doing right now?
Y: me?
Y: I'm trying to write some lyrics for a beat so I'm by myself in the studio
Y: tho its not going as smooth as I hoped
Y: why do u ask?
N: no reason
N: just curious
Y: what are u doing rn?
N: I have a few hours off from work so I'm walking to the convenience store
Y: by yourself?
N: yea
Y: be careful
N: ofc ofc
N: how long are u gonna be in the studio?
Y: maybe for a few more hours
Y: I don't have anything else to do until the evening
N: ah ok
N: well good luck with writing
Y: ty I'll call you later before I leave
Little did he know, I'd be dropping by.
I grabbed a quick drink from the convenience store and headed over to the BigHit building.
I've hung out with BigHit artists here plenty of times so the front staff knew why I was here. Usually Yoongi's there to let me in, but not today since he has no idea.
I ride the elevator up to his floor, navigating the halls.
(Yoongi POV)
Today you're....
No, no that's not it.
I erase the words from the pages.
With you now....I'm...
I sigh and lean back in my chair, dropping my pencil on the desk and crumpling up the sheet of paper marked with eraser shavings and lead smears.
I look at the time. I've been here for almost two hours and I still have nothing.
I felt discouraged. Maybe I should just pack it up for today and try again some other time when I have something to write about.
I was about to shut off my computer when there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." I say, spinning my chair to face the door.
The door opens just a tiny bit and a familiar face appears.
"Sorry, are you busy?" Nayeon pokes her head inside.
I laugh breathlessly, "What are you doing here?"
"Just thought I'd drop by, since we don't get to see each other often." She says.
I pull a seat out for her and we just start talking. If this were anyone else, even my members, I'd tell them to leave me alone or that I was busy.
But Nayeon is different. Having her around just changes the mood.
"What are you writing about?" She asks, moving her chair closer to mine.
"Um...that's the thing. I don't know yet." I mumble.
"Do you have an idea about what you want the song to be about?"
"Hm...not really. I wanted it to be something universal that anyone can relate to but that's too broad of a topic isn't it..?"
"It's a start though!"
I let her hear the instrumental track and she nods her head to the beat.
"This sounds like a more mellow song so the lyrics shouldn't be too intense, if that makes sense." She explains.
"It makes sense." I nod.
I get an idea.
"Hey, since you're here....would you mind helping me with the vocal guide?" I ask.
"I wouldn't mind! I'd love to." She smiles.
I feel my chest get all fuzzy so I avert my attention to something else. My face felt warm.
I played the track again and explained how I wanted it to sound.
The vocal guide is just a guide for how to sing the notes. You can do it even if you don't have any lyrics yet. Maybe this will help me with that later.
"Got it?" I ask her, grabbing the headset from the corner of my desk.
"Sounds like a plan." She says.
I place the headset over her ears and test the volume.
"Too loud? Too quiet?"
"Hm...maybe up the volume just a bit."
She warms up her voice and I hand her the mic, ready to record.
I listen closely to her voice. She would be a perfect vocalist for this song, but this songs a b-side for BTS. Maybe I can write her a song in the future.
The track stops and she takes off the headset.
"Was that good?" She laughs softly.
"It was perfect. Thank-" She cuts me off, hugging me tight.
My first instinct was to push away, but I didn't. I returned the hug and I wouldn't let her go.
When we finally stopped hugging, I felt embarrassed.
"Sorry." Was all I said.
"For what? Hugging me?" She laughs.
I worry too much.
We spent the rest of the time listening to some of my old tracks and mixes, the ones that never went anywhere and the ones that turned into hits.
"You're amazing, have I ever told you that?" Nayeon says, holding my hand.
"You have, but I don't mind hearing it."
She had to leave so we hugged one more time and she kisses me on the forehead.
There's that fuzzy feeling again.
Right after she left, I sat back down at my desk and picked the pencil back up.
I knew exactly what to write that song about.
