Lovepotion Frenzy

I was quite surprised my house was able to organize a large-scale party. Where they managed to sneak fire whisky from I wasn't even about to ask. This party was fifth year and up only, and I felt kind of bad for the fourth year and down Ravenclaws who were practically shoved into the dorm rooms and not allowed to leave under any pretences.
Some seventh year managed to cast a protection spell that didn't let through anyone below the fifth year. That same girl cast a muffliato charm and an invisibility shield that made the common room appear clean and vacant. As soon as you could surpass those barriers, however, that was a whole different story. The common room was dark, lit up with only the small and dim blue lights lining the walls and floor edges. A pleasant-smelling vapour filled the air, giving the entire common room atmosphere a dreamy-like haziness. The top floor overlooked the bottom, and a few tables with very obviously spiked punches stood near the stairwell. The logic of the Ravenclaw in charge of alcohol is that "if they're capable of walking up the stairs, they can have more." I stood next to those tables, wearing something June managed to convince me to put on. Bright red lipstick slightly overlined my lips, and a sparkly gloss gave it a pretty finish. June drew on some wings for me and applied some golden glitter to my top eyelids. As for the outfit, I simply had a tacky sweater paired with some mom jeans.
June herself was wearing a very skintight red plastic dress that distinctly squeaked as she struggled to put it on. Her hair was now a black buzz cut. Usually, June was slightly shorter than me, but with the platforms that she wore that night, she must have been at least four inches taller than me.
People started to quickly flood in, and I grabbed a drink, as did June.
"Oy Stone." I heard a Scottish voice behind me, causing me to whip around almost immediately and come face to face with Oliver Wood.
He was tall and towered over me. His head was slightly tilted back, and his large hands sat snugly in his pockets. He wore a pair of black trousers and a bright red Gryffindor sweater making him look regal. I felt myself involuntary gulp down.
"What do you want Wood," I asked, courteously pouring him a drink.
"A drink." He chuckled, taking the cup from me.
"If that's it, then you got what you wanted," I replied coolly, ready to turn to June only to find her place next to be absent.
"I also wanted to congratulate you on your victory." He continued unperturbed, "I was impressed that you won under such conditions with so many new teammates."
"I've been training them like they needed to be," I responded, feeling my cheeks flush.
"A little sad we didn't get to perform our annual rendezvous at the library this time eh?" He joked, his grin widening.
"I guess it has become a bit of a habit hasn't it?" I smiled.
"Oh shit," Oliver looked past me and down to the lower floor.
I looked down at him. The bottom floor was already crowded with dancing party attendees. It took me a few seconds to understand what Oliver was gaping at. Near one of the corners, I could see Sarah grinding against Erick, the slimy Slytherin boy in his seventh year.
"Is that-" Oliver started in disbelief.
"Yeah." I nodded, shaken. "Shit, where's June?"
"Y/n!" Lori exclaimed from behind us, and Oliver and I whipped around to see her standing with Elio casually draping an arm over her shoulder. "Oh, this place looks wonderful."
"Lori look," I said, pointing down to where Sarah was actively flirting with Erick.
Lori's eyes went wide, and Elio's jaw dropped simultaneously.
"Why would Sarah do that?" Elio looked over at us incredulously.
"Has June seen this?" Lori asked, her face dropping into the most serious expression I've ever seen her.
"I'm not sure." I shrugged.
"I was in the bathroom, what did I miss? June suddenly came up behind the four of us, wrapping an arm around Lori.
"June, I think you ought to see this," I said, directing her attention to the dance floor.
"Is that greaseball being hit on by-" June gaped, fury, confusion, and sadness all coming across her features.
We all nodded.
"Motherfuckers." June snarled, and began stomping down the stairs.
Oliver, Lori, Elio and I exchanged quick looks before following her.
"What the fuck are you doing!" June pulled Sarah off Erick, spilling whatever drink she had in hand all over Erick.
"Who even are you?" Sarah giggled.
"Your fucking girlfriend!" June shouted.
"What do you mean, I don't recall ever having one," Sarah remarked, giggling wildly.
"Yeah, back off." Erick sneered.
"Fine." June scowled quickly turning around and speeding back to us.
Just as she tried to push past us Lori blocked her way.
"Let me go!" June yelled, trying to get around Lori, whose little frame was no match for June in her platforms.
"Stop!" Lori lightly slapped June over her cheek, bringing her out of her angry stupor and turning it into confusion.
"What was that for?" She asked, a tear rolling down her cheek, leaving a black stain.
"I think Sarah has been slipped love potion," Lori said. "I have a lot of experience with these types of things, and she's showing all the signs."
I looked over, and sure enough, Sarah was no longer freely dancing but was rather drunkenly swaying and playing with Erick's oily hair.
"She isn't a lightweight is she?" I asked June.
"No," she said, wiping her tear, "I was actually always surprised by the amount she can drink without showing signs of any tipsiness."
"There is no way she's already gotten drunk is there?" Oliver finally spoke.
"Not unless she slammed down a whole bottle of fire whisky." June shook her head.
"I think he's trying to lead her to the bathrooms!" Lori squealed anxiously.
To mine and everyone else's horror we saw him leading her by the hand towards where the large bathroom doors were.
"June and Lori, grab Sarah and get her to Dumbledore's office," Oliver said sternly, clenching his fists. "Tell him she accidentally ingested love potion. I'll handle the rest."
"I'll help." Elio snarled and exchanged looks with Oliver.
We rushed over to where Sarah and the creep were.
"Got a problem, gentlemen?" Erick bared his yellowing teeth as Oliver and Elio approached him.
"No, not at all." Oliver smiled good-naturedly, "I was just going to give you something."
"And what's that?" He raised his devilish eyebrows as Sarah kissed his neck.
"Let's go my love." She purred.
"This," Oliver said, looking over at his fist, before quickly jabbing it into Erick's nose, sending him stumbling backwards.
Screams and cheers erupted from the dance floor and a small crowd gathered around us.
June and Lori pounced on Sarah and dragged her out of the common room kicking and screaming as Erick rolled around on the floor groaning.
"Now where were we?" Oliver asked him. "Oh yeah, right." He kicked him in the side.
"This is what you get for giving love potion to girls at parties." Elio snarled, giving Erick a good kick in the ribs.
"You won't get away with this." Erick croaked.
"Oh yeah?" Oliver laughed, "Watch me."
He kneeled over Erick and punched his face again, and blood spurted out of his nose. The music and cheering crowd were too loud for me to hear, but I'm sure there was an audible crack from his nose breaking.
Elio gave Erick another kick to the side, and Oliver stood up. He stood over Erick for a good second, and I could see the rise and fall of his broad shoulders from heavy breathing. I could feel that warm fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach.
"If I see anyone else slipping someone love potion, you're next." He yelled to the crowd of spectators.
"You should rough him up some more!" Some girls yelled from the back of the room.
"Please, look at him!" Oliver prodded Erick with his shoe as he gave another whimper. "He's too pathetic for me or anyone else for the matter to waste any more energy on him."
"I think we gave him enough to remember." Elio chuckled coldly.
A group of Slytherin boys awkwardly shuffled to where a bloodied and beaten Erick lay, and offered their apologies before picking him up by his arms and legs, carrying him out of the common room.
The crowd quickly recovered and went back to dancing.
"Let's go find Lori, June, and Sarah?" Oliver offered, wiping Erick's blood against his jeans.
"Uh," I looked over Oliver with newfound respect. "Yeah."
We made it only to the corner of the hall, and almost immediately we saw Lori and June walking Sarah towards us.
"I don't remember anything I swear!" Sarah kept assuring June, rubbing her temples tiredly.
"You're ok!" I yelled, running up to Sarah and pulling her into a giant hug.
"You should've been there, we publicly beat the shit out of him." Elio snickered, high-fiving Oliver.
"He deserved it." Oliver sneered. "Who knows what he would've done if Lori wasn't smart enough to recognize love potion.
"Let's not think about that." I shuddered, and June nodded in agreement.
"We'll walk Sarah back to her dorm," Lori said, grabbing Elio's hand.
"I'll join you," June said. "Y/n?"
"Actually, I think I need a drink now," I said nonchalantly. "June is fine, and I doubt she needs me droning in her ear as well."
"I'll walk you back," Oliver said to me.
We began to walk through the Corridor when suddenly Oliver pulled me behind a pillar.
"What the fuck are you-" My shock was muffled by his hand.
"They've busted the party." He whispered, drawing his hand away from my mouth.
I peered around the pillar, and sure enough, drunk students were being escorted back to their respective dorms by angry-looking heads of houses.
"Shit," I muttered. "No drink for me then."
"Same here." Oliver chuckled.
"Hey Wood?" I began.
"Hm?" He looked down at me.
Even in the dark, I could make out his eyes twinkling in the dim torchlight.
"Thank you." I smiled, "I mean it."
"Oh, it's no big deal." Oliver chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.
