Chapter 1-Lockdown
-Evelyn's PoV-
~6:00 pm, After Class...~
I lean on my chair, tired and glad the day was already over. Class was done, and all the teachers already left. But to be honest, it was already 6:00 pm, so obviously class ended an hour ago. Well, since it says in hour schedule that class finishes at 5, I mean.
I was in the classroom along with my other 12 classmates. We actually had a plan in mind for today. That plan was to stay overnight at school. Of course, that was obviously the worst idea, since our school was famous for a ton of horror stories or legends.
But since our class was graduating already, we thought, 'why not explore the school at night time?' It would be a good way to figure out the university's secrets. Besides, as I said, it already was our last year, so why not?
I wasn't the one who suggested the idea though. The one who suggested the idea of staying overnight, was of course, the horror fanatic, Alexander. He suggested it because he LOVES horror or supernatural stuff, since its his hobby to watch or read anything that involves horror.
Since we were interested in his idea as well as being his classmates and all, we decided to go along with his idea. But it actually took us time to think about it for alot of reasons. And by alot of reasons, I mean ALOT of reasons.
One reason was that it might be hard to stay after class because the security guards immediately patrol the entire university, even the classrooms and bathrooms. Another reason was that the gate is gonna get locked the moment its 10:00 pm, which is the time the guards finish patrolling the school. Well, most of the time.
So, if we were to go with the plan, we would have to leave before 10:00 pm, or we would be locked inside the university. We all agreed to this plan the day before, so we decided to go with the plan. As of now, we are staying in the classroom, ready to hide if we see a flash of light coming from the hallway.
A flash of light would mean the guards are coming to check the classrooms. The good thing though was that the guards don't go inside and they only check the classroom from the door, so there's a chance they won't see the people hiding behind the chairs or seats.
Anyways, right now all of us were just sitting on our seats. Most of us were chatting quietly, while some were near the door to check if any of the guards were coming. There were alot of hiding spots in our classroom.
One good hiding spot is beside the cabinet, because its at the edge of the room, so there's some space to hide. There was also the whiteboard and since it was in the middle of the room, someone can hide at the edge of the whiteboard.
There was also this cabinet that could fit 3 people inside, so 3 people decided to hide there later. After that, the only remaining hiding places left is behind the chairs or under the tables, which can fit 2 people under or beside it.
"What's taking so long?" Katherine asks, as she was doodling in her sketch pad.
"We're waiting until the guards finish checking our classroom, which might be in awhile." Devan says, closing the back door of the classroom quietly.
"Well, was there any sign of the guards coming up?" Veronica asks while reading a book.
"Nope. So far, there wasn't any sign of anyone coming up." Alexander says as he walks back to his seat.
"Well lets just wai-" I stop speaking when I see a light coming from the hallway.
"Hey guys, one of the guards are coming here! Hide, now!" Michael whispers as quietly as possible, standing up and opening the cabinet to hide inside it.
We all nod and stand up from our seats, making sure we didn't make any noise to alert the guard. We went to our hiding places as fast as possible before the door opens, revealing the guard standing at the door with his flashlight.
Everyone became stiff when the guard opened the door while flashing his flashlight around the room. We felt pressured, as if we were in a survival game. But luckily, after a few minutes, the guard closed the door and went to check the other classrooms.
We all went out of our hiding places and decided to sit on the ground. All of us were glad the guard was gone but now there was only one more thing to do. That's to make sure we explore the university as much as possible, but we have to leave before 10:00 pm.
"Well then, what now guys?" I ask, feeling relieved yet worried of what to do next.
"We explore the university of course! That was the plan remember?" Alexander says grabbing his sling bag which had his flashlight, batteries and etc.
"Well, does everybody have their flashlights?" Lisa asks, stretching her arm in the process.
"Make sure you're flashlights have batteries too." Tim insists, checking his bag for his flashlight.
All of us nod before checking our bags for our flashlights. After getting our flashlights, we check each of there batteries to make sure the batteries were new. We also checked our bags to see if we had extra batteries for in case. After checking, all of us stood up and walked towards the door.
"Okay, so who's going out first?" Sophia asks, hiding behind Lisa since she was a bit scared.
"I guess I can go first. Anyone else wanna go outside first as well?" Rodrick grabs the door handle and looks at the rest of us.
"I guess I can go with Rodrick. We just need to check outside real quick before all of us go out, right?" Ethan asks, sighing and getting his flashlight.
"Yeah, you guys just need to check. If no one is there, then we all get out of the room." John says, leaning near the door, ready to head out if it's time
"Okay then, come on Ethan lets go." Rodrick says, opening the door slowly and walking out with his flashlight.
Ethan nods and follows Rodrick outside the classroom. I just watch them walk out silently, hoping there wasn't any 'weird' stuff outside. Well, if ghosts and other 'things' were real of course. I tightly hold my flashlight in my hand, waiting for Ethan and Rodrick's signal.
"Guys, its safe to go out now. None of the guards are here anymore." Ethan says, opening the door as he shines his flashlight into the room once more.
"Then let's go." Michael says, walking out of the classroom along with Devan and John.
"Lets go as well, I guess..." I say, turning on my flashlight and walking out of the classroom with Veronica.
"I d-didn't know that i-it's really d-dark in the university a-at night..." Veronica stutters, scrambling in her words slightly. She flashes her flashlight on.
"Yeah, it's really dark here at night but its expected since its night time anyway..." Alexander says, walking towards the direction of the stairs.
"Umm, so where are we supposed to go now? No one gave us any directions or somthing."Abigail sighs, looking around the hallway.
"I think it's a good idea that we stay in the 1st floor, since we can run to the gate if its almost time." Devan says, looking at the stairs with his light.
"Good idea. By the way, may I ask the time?" I ask, actually wondering what time was it now.
"Its still 7:00 pm, as of now..." John says flashing his flashlight on his watch.
"Thats weird. If its 7:00 pm, wouldn't it still be a bit bright outside? I mean, it doesn't immediately become this dark..." Sophia asks, huddling close in beetween us every now and then.
"Now that you think about it...It is still supposed to be a bit bright outside at the least...." Katherine murmurs.
"Well anyways, we shouldn't think too much about it right now." Rodrick insists with a brave smile.
"Come on guys, let's go to the 1st floor so we won't be caught standing around here." Rodrick says, rushing down the stairs first.
We all look at him rush down before nodding in agreement and following after him. All of us went down quickly but quietly so we won't be found by the guards. While going down the stairs, I kept thinking about what Sophia just said earlier.
Why was it really dark already anyway? To be honest, it was REALLY dark here, which was weird. It looked as if it was already midnight or something, which was making me a bit worried and slightly paranoid at the most.
"You alright, Evelyn?" Veronica asks, shaking my shoulder to snap me back to reality.
"Uhh, yeah. Just thinking about something..." I say, hoping that she wouldn't worry.
"Okay, but if something feels off, just tell any of us because we're your friends, you know." Veronica smiles before walking ahead with the others.
I smile and just continued walking down the flight of stairs. We were on the 3rd floor, so it makes sense we had to hurry up in walking down. After reaching the 1st floor, we stop and hide near the stair case to make sure if any of the guards were near.
"Anyone there, Rodrick?" Lisa asks, turning off her flashlight for in case.
"Hmm, I don't see anyone. I guess no one's there." Rodrick whispers, peeking out his head from the corner.
"Then, where to next?" Michael asks, turning on his flashlight again.
"How about let's go check the Faculty room first? Maybe the professors and teachers have something that we don't know." Abigail says, pointing to the direction of the Faculty room.
"Abigail is right, maybe there's some old yearbooks or records from before or something." Katherine says.
"Maybe some creepy stuff too..." Alexander grins. We shush him for the joke, making him laugh but not too loud.
"Okay then, since that's decided, let's go to the Faculty room then." Ethan says, ready to walk to the Faculty room.
All of us nod, as we started walking towards the Faculty room. John constantly kept looking at his watch to make sure it wasn't 10 pm yet. While Sophia kept staying near Lisa, most likely because she was scared and plus, Lisa was her best friend, probably her closest one.
Katherine kept checking the sketch pad she was drawing on earlier for some reason. Michael just flashed his flashight in some places to check if anyone was there, which made me slightlh paranoid even more. Rodrick, Ethan and Alexander were in front of us, leading the way to the Faculty room.
Devan and Tim just continued walking behind Rodrick with a calm expression on their face. Abigail kept twirling her hair looking all nervous and a bit scared which was unusual for Abigail, since she was always brave to do almost anything.
Veronica was walking beside me and she kept looking straight ahead, not even looking at the sides or anything. While I just observed everyone in the group. Honestly, almost everyone was acting a bit different, most likely because they wanted to go home by now
"Okay, we're here." Alexander says, stopping in front of two iron doors where it said 'Faculty Room'.
"So, let's go inside I guess?" Tim hesitantly grabs the door handle and opens it slowly.
"Whoa, it's much more darker in here than it is in the hallway..." Katherine walks inside the Faculty room, shining her light everywhere.
"Maybe its because there's curtains in here. This room is always sunny during day time afterall." Rodrick suggests, looking around the Faculty room with a sharp gaze.
"Well then, let's try to find something in here. But first, John what's the time?" Alexander asks, looking at John.
"Oh right! The time is 8:45 pm as of now. So our remaining time is about 1 hour and 15 minutes." John says looking at his watch.
"That's still a long time so I guess lets start looking everyone." Devan says as he starts walking towards one of the nearest bookshelves in the room.
All of us nod before going to different areas in the room. I decided to check the drawers of each of the teachers, to see if they have anything. I walk towards one of the desks and start opening random drawers.
In the drawers were mostly files or grades that the teachers were making. Some were letters, plans or just some random piece of paper. I sighand move on to the next desk, hoping I could find something.
"Hey guys, I think I found something!" Sophia exclaims, shuffling through some books by a nearby desk.
"Oh, what did you find, Sophia?"Abigail asks, being the nearest to where Sophia was.
"I found this in a box near the bookshelves. It looks like its an old yearbook or something." Sophia says, holding a brown dusty book in her hand.
"Man, it's really dusty. That must mean its really old then." Ethan says, getting a tissue from his pocket and wiping the book with it.
"Since its a yearbook, what year is the yearbook from? Like 1998 or 2009 or something?" Devan asks, curiously looking at the yearbook from a distance.
"I guess let's open it to find out since it doesn't say on the cover." I suggest.
Sophia nods and slowly opens the yearbook to the first page. We see the name of the school, along with the date of when the yearbook was made and the date of when the school was found.
"Woah, this was made in 2005. So that means 12 years ago..." Tim says looking at the front page.
"Well lets check the pages, I guess. Maybe there's something in them..." Veronica suggests.
We all nod and look at the yearbook. Sophia starts flipping some of the pages. We kept glancing at each page of the yearbook until it reached the student pages. The student pages is filled with each individual student's face and info.
As I remember, there were always three students in one side of the page along with their info. We flipped some pages until it reached a certain page which caught everyone's attention.
"Hey guys, isn't the names of these students..." Lisa murmurs, looking at the 6 pictures in the yearbook.
"These were the names of the students that died, right?..." Michael asks, turning to look at everyone.
"I think it is, since the teachers said the accident happened 12 years ago or somewhere around that time." I reply, looking at the names of the students once more.
"Hey Alexander, you had a list of the names of the dead students right?" Ethan asks, turning to look at Alexander.
"Ah yes I do. I think its a good idea to check the list and the students in the yearbook." Alexander says as he grabs a green notebook from his sling bag.
Alexander walks closer towards us and looks at the yearbook. He opens his blue notebook filled with his notes. He opens it to a certain page that had names and info beside it.
"Dude, how the heck did you get the info about what clubs these people were in?" John asks, looking at Alexander suspiciously.
"Oh I asked the older students. And I have my ways." Alexander grins.
"Anyways, come on, let's check the names." Abigail says.
"I'm gonna say the names and you guys tell me if the name is in there. Though I can't assure you if these are the students because I just chose the page I think the students you're all talking about are in. Alexander says, looking at his notebook.
"Alright then..." Sophia says, breathing in and out and looking at the page.
"Okay, first student is Charlotte Ivory, is she there?" Alexander asks.
"Yup, she's here. It says here in the yearbook, that she's a member of the Student Council and is one of the smartest students in Alban." I say, looking at the picture of the girl named 'Charlotte'.
"Okay then, the next student is named Noah Valentino is he there?" Alexander asks, looking at his notebook again.
"Yeah, his name is also here. It says he's part of the Basketball team." Veronica says while looking at the picture beside the picture of the girl named Charlotte.
"Okay next is a student named Ava Bauer, is she there?" Alexander asks.
"Yeah, she's here. It says she's part of the Music club and is known for her beautiful singing skills." Sophia says while looking at the book with me.
"Hmm, alright. Next is a student named Sebastian Bolton, is he there?" Alexander asks.
"Yeah, he's here. It says he was the most popular student before and that girls would instantly fall in love with him." Abigail scoffs, groaning and looking away in disgust and possible cringe.
It would make sense for Abigail to have that reaction because she really didn't like flirty boys. Even just hearing about popular boys that make girls head over heels for that boy makes her annoyed a bit. She kinda does represent girl power in some way so kinda makes sense.
"Anyways moving on, the next student is named Zoey Caberera, is she there?" Alexander says, hoping we can just move on to the next student so Abigail won't get annoyed.
"Yeah, she's here. It says that she's part of the Journalism club and is in charge of the school newspaper." Lisa says.
"Okay, this is the last student. Is there a guy named Samuel Carlson there?" Alexander asks, glancing at his notebook one last time.
"Yup, he's here. It says he's part of the Photography club and it also says that he's sometimes seen helping Zoey make the school newspaper." Katherine says.
"Well, that's all the students that were in that page." Alexander says while closing his notebook and placing it in his bag.
"Man, all of them sound like elite students..." Ethan says.
"Yeah, I wonder how they died. All of them had really good traits too..." Rodrick says.
"Anyways, what now? Since we finished reading that and all." Devan asks while putting back the yearbook.
"Wait, John what time is it?" Tim asks, looking at John.
"Its still 9:00 pm as of now, but I think we should check the gate for in case." John says while looking at his watch.
"Okay, then let's go outside before the ti-" Before Michael could finish what he was saying, we suddenly heard a bell ring.
"Uhh guys, there's no bells in the university, right?... Especially one that sounds like a church bell?..." Sophia asks, hiding behind Lisa in the process.
"I know for sure there's definetly no chapel here, so I don't know where the heck that bell is coming from." Alexander says.
Suddenly the ground started shaking a bit and the books started falling off of the shelves. The un-opened drawers suddenly slammed open in an instant. Then suddenly, blood started leaking from the corners of the walls and started dripping onto the floor.
"Umm guys, there's blood on the wall!" Veronica exclaims, stepping back ever so slowly.
"I think it's a good idea to go now, as in right now!" I run to the door and quickly turn the door handle.
-It was locked-
"What the heck its locked?!" I exclaim in horror, banging on the door as loud as possible. At this point I didn't really mind if the guards caught us.
"That's a joke, right?! We didn't even bring keys, plus the lock is outside!" Tim asks, running towards the door and turning the handle again and again.
"Umm guys, you better get that door open right now!" Abigail exclaims, throwing a piece of paper and a few books into the blood flowing out of the walls, which was dripping on to the floor and spreading faster.
The moment Abigail threw the books and the piece of paper towards the blood, they suddenly melted and dissappeared.
"What the heck? The blood is acid?!" Michael steps back, looking at the blood which was getting closer.
"What do you mean the blood is acid!?" Tim asks, glancing at Abigail and Michael for a quick moment.
"The books just melted instantly, so of course its acid!" Abigail explains, throwing more books at the small river of blood which was getting closer and bigger by the second.
"You know throwing more stuff at it isn't gonna work, right?!" Rodrick suggests, shuffling some things in the desks that weren't melting yet.
"Guys, try finding something small. Maybe it can open the door!" I suggest, looking back to find the yearbook, which was weirdly enough lying on the floor. Untouched, undamaged.
"How is this still okay?..." I move back and pick the yearbook up from the floor.
"I think we can open the door! We just need something thin that can pass through the door and fiddle with the lock." Alexander says, finding anything that could possibly open the door.
"I think I found something!" John says while running towards the door with a crowbar.
"Okay, we can use that!" Tim says, getting the crowbar from John's hands and placing it on the door, pulling it quickly hoping that it can open the door.
"I think all of us need to pull the crowbar, Tim." Rodrick walks towards Tim and holds the crowbar.
"That's a good idea. By the way, we should hurry up because the acid is getting closer, you know." I say while signaling the others to stay near the door.
"Okay then, when I count to three, all of us pull, okay?" Alexander breathes, holding the crowbar tightly.
All of us nod in agreement and hold the crowbar tightly. We kept glancing at the river of blood that was already inches away from where we were standing.
"1.....2.....3 and pull!" Alexander shouts, pulling the crowbar with all of his strength.
All of us pull the crowbar as tightly as possible. The moment we hear the door crack open, Devan immediately throws the crowbar at the side and opens the door. All of us run out of the room and slam the door close to make sure none of the acid goes into the hallway.
"Uhh guys, we have to go to the gate now. Its already 9:55 pm and we only have 5 minutes to run to the gate!" John says while looking at his watch and running to the entrance.
I had a feeling in my mind that we might not make it. The Faculty room was at the end of the hallway and with the amount of time left to run and catch up, I don't think we could make it.
All of us follow behind John and run towards the gate. Something felt off though, the gate was closing but no one was closing it. No guards, no staff members, no one. It was just closing by itself, creaking every time it moved.
"Why is the gate closing by itself?! None of the guards are even standing behind it." I exclaim running as fast as possible with all my might. I didn't notice I actually still had the yearbook in my hand.
"As if I know! But we have to hurry up, its almost closed." Michael says, pointing at the gate.
We kept running faster but sadly, the gate closed and was locked by the time we reached it. We kept wondering what we should do, we were stuck in the school as of now after all.
"Oh god, it's locked..." Abigail says while shaking the gate softly.
"I want to go home..." Sophia murmurs while tightly holding her flashlight.
"I think the only way out is to wait or to find a way out..." I suggest.
We sighed and just decided to go back into the school building. It was gonna be a long night of no sleep since we were locked in the school after all....
--------------------------------------------------------------
And that was the first chapter of Class 46 everyone! It seems like everyone is stuck in Alban now, wonder whats gonna happen to them huehue...Anyways I feel weird cause honestly Evelyn(main protagonist)isn't talking that much while the other peeps are which is really weird to me XD.
Plus I feel like the last part where they were stuck in the room felt REALLY cringy to be honest so very sorry about that im still working on how to give a good horror vibe.
