day five: he gave up

chenle got inside the room where all security cameras from all rooms are shown, which donghyuck asked him to and focus on that one abandoned classroom. sitting down from that swivel chair and finally getting uncomfortable, chenle raised a brow out of curiosity when he saw donghyuck and yukhei getting inside that abandoned classroom.

smirking, chenle leaned forward and wore the headphones to hear what they are talking. ❝this is going to be fun.❞

donghyuck closed the door slowly, not checking outside if there were people following them, and his full attention now went to yukhei who's grinning from ear to ear.

now this is the definition of annoying, ❝stop smiling.❞

❝how can i?❞ yukhei licked his lower lip, grabbing donghyuck's hand and pulled the tanned male closer in front. ❝when it's just us two here.❞

the younger was disgusted and badly wanted to pull yukhei's arms that were snaking around his waist away. ❝don't touch me.❞

but not like yukhei followed what he said. instead, the senior raised a brow in a teasing way. ❝why did you bring me here sunshine?❞

❝don't call me sunshine!❞ donghyuck had enough of it and forced yukhei's hands away from his waist.

❝sugar plum?❞

❝no.❞ donghyuck hissed, ❝don't call me, not even by my name.❞

guess being alone with yukhei was the most regretful choice he had ever did. he could have at least brought jaemin with him and just let that pink haired hide at those boxes over there.

he was in trouble, he knows that. but he knows someone is watching them and even though he hates this person as of the moment, he is still his friend. chenle is still his friend and he knows that loud ass kid would call for help if something happens to him.

yukhei took small steps towards the small male, which was brave of him not to step back, and then wrapped his arms back on his waist. ❝i know you are secretly liking it.❞

he should do it now. he should kiss yukhei, it's his chance. but he's holding himself back because he knows it's wrong and that he shouldn't actually toy with yukhei's feelings. although it may look like yukhei's just a fuckboy who plays with people, his feelings for donghyuck is actually real and serious.

and donghyuck needs to settle that. ❝yukhei, how many times do i have to reject you?❞

yukhei smiled, that somehow looked like a smirk to donghyuck. ❝i still won't give up.❞

❝yukhei, i don't like you.❞ the small male said directly, ❝i don't like you and will never like you, in a romantic way of course.❞

he had been rejected millions of times already but yukhei felt just now a slight pang in his chest. ❝what do you mean?❞

❝we can be friends.❞ for the first time, donghyuck was giving him a genuine smile.

and yukhei found it honestly beautiful because donghyuck is specifically smiling at him. ❝friends?❞ he did not like the sound of that.

donghyuck sighed, his hands went up to cup yukhei's cheeks. ❝stop hurting yourself. someone is out there loving you so stop loving someone who doesn't love you back and start falling in love with that person who can return back the feelings.❞

by someone, donghyuck meant that one silent senior whom donghyuck noticed that he keeps on stealing glances at yukhei and gets flustered when yukhei's near to him. he doesn't know the name but he wished that yukhei will notice that person.

❝donghyuck.❞ yukhei hugged the younger, his head buried on his shoulder. this was the most beautiful rejection he had ever received from donghyuck.

the younger did not curse at him nor shout at him just like what he used to do before.

still smiling, donghyuck patted yukhei's head while the older was still hugging him with his head buried on his shoulder. ❝why did you like me anyways?❞

the older tightened his embrace on the younger, ❝it's because of you just being you.❞

not telling anyone, mark was following behind. he was about to ask jeno to come with him and follow where donghyuck is taking yukhei but his friend was busy making out with two of his other friends and decided not to disturb them. he was looking for jisung to accompany him but that tall chicken was not seen around the campus. chenle is of course already out of the list, because first of all, (and also the last reason why) he is loud.

so this is why he ended up following the two in secret. because he believes that yukhei has something to do with hyuck's change of attitude and this is why he is following them to find out.

❝i'm going to save you hyuckie.❞ he took a deep breath and then tiptoed his way to the abandoned classroom, standing in front of the door.

he could hear muffling sounds inside and so he opened the door slight bit and saw donghyuck's back facing him while yukhei was hugging him very tight.

❝it's because you're brave, it's because you're confident, it's because you are lee donghyuck.❞ yukhei continued his confession, ❝this is why i like— no, i love you.❞

the tanned male giggled, pulling yukhei away from him to see his face. ❝now that's something coming out from a fuckboy's mouth.❞

the older pouted at the name donghyuck is giving him. ❝stop calling me fuckboy, the rumors are not true.❞

this is probably the chance to kiss him now. he's going to give the kiss as a thanks. thanks for the confession that's surprisingly coming out from yukhei's mouth, and for loving him.

❝stop pouting or else i will kiss you.❞

and the smirking yukhei was back but then it turned into a soft smile seconds after, he was still sad about what happened. ❝wish you would.❞

and donghyuck is going to grant that wish. he let his hand rest behind yukhei's neck and pulled the tall male down for him to reach and then let their lips touch. yukhei was feeling a lot of things, especially the whole circus inside his stomach, while donghyuck just felt thankful because they finally cleared things up.

meanwhile, mark was hurt watching them yet his feet won't move away.

the two pulled away from that simple kiss, both smiling. yukhei then lets go of his arms that were wrapped around donghyuck's waist. but yukhei's attention was ripped off from the beautiful creature in front of him and now went to the person standing by the door.

curious at how yukhei's expression suddenly changed, he too turned around and he can't believe his eyes. he prayers to the gods above that he was just seeing things and it's really not mark he's seeing.

❝mark—❞ the moment he called the canadian was the moment mark was back from his senses and ran away.

run away from donghyuck.

donghyuck fortunately got inside mark's house without receiving any questions from his mom. mark's mother just let donghyuck inside, guessing that donghyuck is here to either apologize to mark for doing something wrong or comfort his bestfriend.

the tanned male almost stumbled from the stairs as he was going up to mark's room. he murmured a curse word and didn't mind about it as there are much more bigger problems to fix.

❝mark, open the door!❞ it was locked, donghyuck twisted the door knob plentt of times already.

he started it of with a knock but mark won't respond. and that's why he is banging the door, in hopes of mark's mother not going to scold him for being loud.

❝mark lee!❞

❝leave me the fuck alone!❞ and now that he received a response, mark cursed at him.

❝i'm not leaving here until we talk things out.❞ donghyuck said, practically shouting.

now mark decided to stay silent. but if you listen carefully, you can hear mark crying. only burying his face on his pillow for donghyuck not to find out that he's crying.

but donghyuck will stay true to his words, he's not moving an inch until the two of them talk things out. he turned around and let his back slide down from the door and sat down from the cold floor with his legs crossed.

he doesn't know how hurt mark is. he doesn't know why mark is acting like this. he doesn't know anything about mark at all aside from the fact that he is one nice person that deserves to be loved and cared by people. seeing mark's face awhile ago back at the abandoned classroom shattered donghyuck's heart, he didn't know why he had a pained face but mark definitely doesn't deserve to be sad. whatever is happening to mark, donghyuck is going to stay.

❝i'm not leaving.❞
