Stuck Up

Minjoon reached for his shirt, pulling it over his head swiftly before reaching for his pants and tugging them on quickly. The alphas around him changed just as quickly, all of them hurrying to bring the hunt to the kitchens to skin before the omegas began separating equal parts for each family in the pack. When he walked back to where the other alphas were, he felt a pair of eyes trailing after him. It was something he was used to since he was a young wolf. He knew how sought after he was by the omegas in his pack. Everyone had the faintest idea that he would most likely be the one to take over the pack once his father was ready to step down. And he knew just how much the older mates would push their sons or daughters to approach him in an attempt to catch his attention.

But he didn't bother giving any omega an ounce of his attention. He had a level of pride to uphold, and there was no way he would be giving his attention to any undeserving omega in his pack. He turned around, watching the omega that he had sensed make his way to him. He signed out in annoyance, standing in disinterest with his hands in his pockets as we waited. The omega stopped in front of him, timid and unable to speak fast enough. He rolled his eyes and huffed out once more to get the omega to look up at him.

"I don't like wasting my time, so I'll just let you know now that I'm not interested."

He turned away and left, not caring if the omega had anything to say to him at all. He just wanted to be rid of them before they got the idea that they could keep trailing after him every day. His fathers had warned him about his behavior, telling him it was not nice to dismiss someone's feelings in such a way. But after growing up as a dotted pup by his pack, he grew up knowing how much everyone looked up to him. It made his wolf burst with ego, knowing well he was someone who the pack would look up to once he became the leader. But he was still not interested in finding a mate, and when the time comes, he is going to make sure to find someone who can be respected at the same level as him.

Minjoon broadens his shoulders, takes powerful strides back to help the alphas. He yells out, making sure the attention is on him as he gives out orders and urges the alphas to hurry along. They don't dare complain, all of them moving more purposefully as they take the last of the hunt to the kitchens. Even then, he stands tall outside the kitchen doors, making sure the task is finished without any mistake. He makes his way to his father once he spots him, standing beside him to watch a group of betas bring back fish from the rivers.

"Dami will be in charge of the hunt tomorrow morning. I expect you not to intervene like last time."

He turned to his father, giving him an incredulous look but resigning, not putting up a fight when he saw his father didn't bother to look at him. He knew better than to go against him now that he noticed the hard look he had on his face. As if on cue, he saw his younger sister stroll by, engaged in a conversation with a beta from the pack. He recalls that time when she had been in charge of leading a hunting party a few weeks ago. It had been one of the biggest hunts of the season, and he found himself showing up earlier than her and without a second thought had taken command. She had been angry after seeing him return from the hunt with the rest of the alphas. She had not bothered to care as she walked up to him and punched him in the face. Their alpha father had to hold her back, cage her in his arms to stop her from landing another punch on his face. He knew he probably looked like an asshole, but he couldn't help himself from laughing at her which only seemed to anger her more. He smiled smugly as he recalled the memory, and when he turned to look at his father, he dropped the smile and sighed in defeat.

"I won't interfere Alpha, I'll make sure to stay far away from her."

His father gave him a nod before walking away, probably headed to see his mate in the kitchens. Minjoon looked around, watching the pack thrive through the rest of their duties. It was hot, his skin still feeling clammy with sweat from his earlier task. Dami strolled by once more, a female alpha by her side. She had long black hair, two thin braids falling in front. He had seen her around before, had even gone through their coming of age ceremony in the same season. He faintly remembers her, she had been shorter a few years ago. Yurim, she had been the only female alpha in their ceremony, had not looked like one after she had presented. But now, she really grew into her status, having grown taller and nearly as tall as him. Her features were sharp, with a high nose and thick lips. And her eyebrows were dark and they settled into a sharpness that matched her cold hazel eyes. He watched her walk, posture straight and poise, and even her steps were full of power. She knew how to carry herself like a proper alpha, giving a strong aura with every single step she took. He couldn't help himself from looking after her, turning away after he saw her disappear with his sister through the line of trees.

He wondered why he had never paid attention to her, and even then he couldn't recall ever hunting with her or even sharing a task in the same group as Yurim. He could feel his alpha growl inside him, unexpectedly interested in knowing more about the alpha. But he couldn't give into his alpha now, he would have to find a chance to be around Yurim and see what type of alpha she was. Yet, he couldn't deny there was something about her that called out to him. For the first time, he found himself interested in a potential mate, someone who was worthy of standing beside him.
