34. moonstone
"So this is the 'Ackerman library' I heard so much about," I murmured, watching as the magical lights slowly flickered on, illuminating the space.
"Don't lie, it's fucking impressive," Levi shook his head at me.
ok fine but-
"It's still a library," I shrugged, "I feel like it's going to take us a really long time to find what we want."
"We have all night," he rolled his eyes, gesturing for me to follow him down one of the rows of bookshelves.
"IS THAT WHY YOU INSISTED ON SNEAKING IN HERE?"
I NEED MY SLEEP
"Shhh-" he glared over at me, "fuck no, this isn't the kind of thing that we can be openly researching."
i feel like you're calling me stupid
"I feel like I could just tell them that I've gotten into writing fanfiction and they would accept it-"
levi ackerman writing fanfic
i feel like it would be boring
too much cursing- too little plot
"You're fucking crazy."
"I'm fucking awesome."
"Whatever you want to believe."
"The last thing someone is going to think is that Levi Ackerman and Y/N L/N have switched bodies-" I complained, "now that's fucking stupid."
"I keep on saying that and yet-" he paused, pulling a large dusty book off of the shelf, "I'm still in this fucking body."
"This would be much more interesting if it was fanfiction," I sighed, "maybe the author would let me destroy you in the end."
i feel like you need to be a bit more careful with your language-
"This is real life, get a grip," Levi handed me the book, "carry this for me."
WTF... USING ME AS A BAG
"As you wish my lady," I grumbled, flipping through it as we walked. "This is really boring."
"It's research, it isn't meant to be fun," he handed me another book, this one let off a cloud of dust when it hit my arms, "it's meant to be educational."
BORING
"Hey Levi."
no response
"Levi?" I picked up my pace, trying to get a glimpse of his expression.
no response
"Levi- I'm talking to you-"
nothing
"God you're so annoying- Levi-"
oh god- has his soul left my body?
"Levi, are you there? Is my body a husk?" I gasped loudly, trying to get a reaction out of him.
HELLO????
"LEV-" A hand was slapped over my mouth, as Levi whirled around.
whoa
"Can you please be quiet? We snuck in here, remember?" His/my hand remained over my mouth, whether he knew it or not he had closed the distance between us in a second.
that is to say-
we're very close right now
and i don't do well with my own face
"Do you understand?" He frowned, eyes trained on me.
hello beautiful
"Mmph," I managed to squeak out through his hand.
"Behave," he scowled, still frighteningly close.
"I look amazing ordering people around," I gasped, breathless. "Levi, stay still."
"Wha-" before he could move away from me I pushed him against the bookshelves, covering his mouth with my hand.
it was something like this right?
"Behave," I mimicked, channeling my inner pretentious asshole (Levi Ackerman).
a pause
"Isn't that crazy?" I whispered, "that was like crazy hot- oh but not because you did it- because my body did it- don't get confused."
"Take your hand off my mouth," he batted away my arm, "this is the opposite of behaving."
oh come on
"Were you not the slightest bit flustered?" I grumbled, "I mean what I just did is like every young noble lady's fantasy."
DID YOUR HEART SKIP A BEAT?
"Y/N," he locked eyes with me, "it loses all impact when you're the one behind it."
wtf......
"I think I'm charming enough," I grumbled, checking myself out in one of the windows, "hey can we sit down soon? My arms hurt from carrying these books."
"Five more."
"FI-" I was cut off by a stern look, "five more? Are you trying to kill me?"
"Oh no! You've found me out!" He gasped dryly.
"You're lucky I'm generous, charitable, strong, gorgeous, talented, mild mannered, respectful, honest, fair-"
"Hold this," he added another one to the stack.
fine
"Have you ever noticed that we actually know very little about each other?" I murmured, thinking of random things to fill the silence, "like I know the exact way that you make your tea but I don't actually know what you do in your free time."
and it's pretty obvious that you're oblivious to my life outside of the small sliver you've witnessed
"I have very little free time," Levi responded absentmindedly, slowing down to read the title of a book before adding it to the stack.
"Wow," I sighed loudly, "humor me a little- you must do something."
i know you're more interesting than that
"You've seen my office-" he murmured, "I collect."
SEE THAT'S INTERESTING
"Ok now you ask me something," I gestured towards myself, "I'm a woman of many secrets."
"It's disconcerting when you say it in my body," Levi frowned, "ok--biggest regret?"
WHOA
"Start small-"
"Who's the boring one now?" He rolled his eyes, pausing the search for books to think for a second, "worst lie you told when you were younger?"
ooh
"This is a fun one- let me think."
"While you're thinking, take this-" he handed me another book.
"You're killing me-"
"That's the plan."
"Ok- worst lie-" I refocused the conversation. "When I was younger I used to run away from my lessons to watch the knights spar- it was a lot of fun- but I definitely wasn't supposed to be there."
"You've always been a problem," Levi smirked.
"Yeah- yeah- whatever," I flipped him off, "anyway one time I convinced some of the other kids- you'll meet them when we go to the marquisate they're all part of the guard now- to sneak into the armory and steal some of the swords so that we could play pretend." I paused to make sure he was listening.
"And?"
"We made a huge commotion," I smiled fondly at the memory, "this huge suit of enchanted armor that my father owns fell over- got a big dent in it- it's still there after all this time."
"What lie did you tell?" Levi seemed genuinely interested, turning to look at me while I finished the story.
"Well we got caught- obviously- the other kids were standing there and I just-" I paused, "I don't know why I did this- a total abuse of my power. I told my father that it was Eren who came up with the idea and the rest of us were just following him."
"What happened to the kid?"
"Oh don't feel any sympathy for Eren- he's a brat- I don't think you'll like him," I laughed. "I felt really fucking bad about the lie- but I don't think my father believed it- he never did anything to Eren or the rest of the kids."
"Sounds like a shit lie."
"I was seven, cut me a break."
"Seven and you were already terrorizing the masses," he handed me another book.
"My turn to ask a question!"
"Are we really doing this?"
"Well- yeah- I thought we were trying to be friends."
"I guess so-"
"Two down nineteen more to go!"
"Oh joy."
"Payback for making me carry all of these."
"Fine."
