Mistake

Spring-- it symbolizes rebirth and a fresh beginning, a new start from the horrible past that precedes the present. Unfortunately for Min Yoongi, spring never comes for him. It's as if he's perpetually stuck in winter, a ruthless and harsh truth that he's worthless. It never mattered where or when he tried to have a new start, the cold nipped on his fingers and the frost always hung onto his hair; many times he had tried to climb out of the hole, but he could never reach it. He was thankful-- he is thankful for his current place, the roof over his head, the food on his table, loving and doting parents, decent grades that could pass him in college, his friends that surrounded him with warmth especially that special one, Kim Taehyung. Min Yoongi never had felt this full of warmth, but nevertheless, there's an empty pocket somewhere that's left him always incomplete. So despite the brightness that shrouds his surrounding, Min Yoongi felt as if he's the darkness that obstructs his happiness. No matter how much love his parents poured out, no matter how much Kim Taehyung brightened his day, no matter how much luck he had gotten these last five months, he felt empty, worthless, flawed, and especially disgusted. He couldn't stand himself. The thought of himself succeeding, that one day he'd find the bright side and become happy, he hated the idea. It seemed as if the biggest enemy for Min Yoongi has been reached and it's Min Yoongi himself.

  "Yoongles!"

Taehyung enters the crowded classroom full of rowdy, hormonal teenagers itching for lunch to come and ring the bell. Yoongi rolls his eyes at the nickname but nevertheless smiles and turns around meeting his tall, hyper friend. "Tonight there's a party at Youngjae's house, wanna go?" Taehyung smiles excitedly, pulling the chair in front of Yoongi's desk and sitting on it. Yoongi sighs, "I don't know. I'm not really a party guy." Taehyung pouts, "But it's gonna be the party of the lifetime! There's gonna be girls, a dj, drugs, booze; everything you could want!" Yoongi scoffs, "That's what you say everytime, and what do I always say?" Taehyung slouches, "No. You always say no... But this time you should say yes. Say it. Come on, yes. Say it with me," Yoongi laughs, "Yeeeeeeeeeessssss. Come on, Yoongles." Taehyung elongates the answer even more, trying to convince the pale boy to agree. "Tae, no. I'm not a big fan of parties. They're rowdy and messy, I'd rather sit at home and do nothing." Taehyung whines, throwing his head back and emitting a cry meant for children. "But Yoongiiii!" He reasons, stomping his legs. "Are you actually acting like this right now?" Yoongi asks, amazed at his best friend's actions. Taehyung suddenly sits up, expression brighter and a mischievious look in his eyes. "Let's make a deal!" "No." "You go to the party and after the party, we can have a sleepover at my house and we'll do nothing!" Yoongi stares at Taehyung in disbelief. "Nothing consists of movies and popcorn followed by video games till like five a.m., then we can go for a walk in the woods, just like how you like it." Taehyung knew he had caught Yoongi by that, smile growing confident at the sparkle in his friend's eyes. "If I say yes will you stop bothering me?" Yoongi asks. Taehyung nods vigorously, already messy hair tossled everywhere and getting messier to try and convince Yoongi. "Fine, okay! You got me. I'll see you at Youngjae's tonight." Taehyung jumps up in excitement, both hands in fists as he raises them in the air in triumph, "Helllll yeaaaaahhhhhhh!"

Yoongi couldn't stop staring at himself in the mirror, amazed at how different he looked. His usual black jumper replaced with a dark blue button up, his black jeans now ripped from his knees to his thighs. Pure white shoes tied the outfit together, sealing the look with a different aesthetic Yoongi would've never worn. Namjoon, Yoongi's friend and next door neighbour, sits him down and starts to work with Yoongi's black hair. He rubs wax between his hands and ruffs Yoongi's hair, the strands sticking in different directions as if its lost. Yoongi grimaces, "Are you sure being a hair stylist is what you want to be in the future?" Namjoon smiles at Yoongi through his bedroom mirror, "Patience is a virtue, Yoongi." Yoongi squints his eyes in confusion, watching Namjoon in the mirror as he disappears into his closet. Namjoon emerges with a hat pure white, just like his shoes. "I have been waiting for a long time to gift this to you, actually. I just knew it would look good on you, and now that we're friends and it's not that weird to tell you that I bought this just for you because I had a vision that this would look great on you--" He takes a breath in and smiles, "This is the last piece!" Namjoon places the hat on Yoongi with the bill facing back, tucking in the extra pieces of hair sticking out behind Yoongi's pierced ears. "Wow.. Masterpiece." Namjoon whispers, covering his cheeks with his hands. Yoongi looks at himself and the finished look, amazed again at the outcome. "You look fucking dazzling." Namjoon whispers. "I mean, like, wow. We all know that you're a timid guy and shit like that, but with you looking like that, whomst the fuck would mess with you?" Namjoon raves, fanboying as Yoongi smiles to himself. "Stop with the compliments, you're making me more dead inside." Yoongi comments, moving towards Namjoon's door. "I will compliment you as much as I want." "If you do we'll be late to the party." "...Well when you put it that way I guess I have to shut up and leave." Yoongi chuckles and follows Namjoon down the stairs of Namjoon's house and out the door.

Taehyung couldn't wait for Yoongi, shoving his messily caramel coloured hair under a red snapback and slipping on some tattered Converse before leaving his house through the back door and to Youngjae's house just a block down his own. He steps in the crowded house, greeting some of his friends and going straight to the back to grab a bottle of beer. He joins a crowd of people, alternating from sipping his drink to dancing in whatever style he wanted to. "Yo! You're Yoongi right?!" He heard a distant person shout over the music. Taehyung steps out of the circle of teens, stumbling through the crowd to find the door. There stood Yoongi, his best friend, talking to Youngjae. Something felt different though, this Yoongi that stands at the door, he's not Yoongi; at least not the Yoongi Taehyung knows. This Yoongi wears a short sleeve, dark blue button up that beautifully contrasts with his pale skin. This Yoongi wears rippes jeans, exposing those milky thighs. This Yoongi messily shoves his hair into a white hat, showcasing his strong features and somehow makes Yoongi smirk instead of smile. Taehyung felt drunk even though he hasn't met his limit. He felt like his feet weren't grounded, lifting off the wooden floor and gliding towards the door. "Yoongi!" Taehyung calls, voice and attitude over confident despite his racing yet confused heart. "You made it! I thought you bailed on me!" Taehyung yells over the music, grinning at Yoongi. He throws his arm around Yoongi, pulling him close. "I wouldn't bail on you after you made that promise." Yoongo responds, nose crinkling at the familiar smell of beer. "Well why don't you pop a bottle and let loose! I'll grab you a bottle! Actually here, have mine. It's half full, but I'll grab myself and you another bottle!" Taehyung shoves his bottle of beer into Yoongi's hand and leaves as fast as he came, stumbling through the crowd once again. Yoongi sighs, shuffling towards a nearby wall, leaning against in and shoving his free hand into his pocket. He stares at the bottle for a while, contemplating if he should take a sip. With a shrug, Yoongi brings the bottle to his lips and tips back, letting the liquid slip into his mouth and burn his throat. He drains the bottle, starting to feel the effects of the alcohol take over. Tipsy, Yoongi leaves his shy demeanor behind, letting a new Yoongi come through. By the time Taehyung comes back, Yoongi's eyes became darker with an unknown gleam, lips slick with liquor and saliva. "Hey, sorry it took a while-" Yoongi snatches a bottle from Taehyung's hand, "Don't worry about it!" Yoongi shouts back, taking a sip. Taehyung cocks his eyebrow at this new demeanor, feeling intimidated with the new Yoongi. "Come on~" Yoongi grabs Taehyung's hand, pulling him towards the dancing crowd. Taehyung feels transfixed, his eyes were glued onto Yoongi's, mesmerized at the shimmer of bad in it. He lets him pull him to the crowd, enjoying the view of Yoongi letting loose. For him, Yoongi becoming wild, was the start of a very long night.
