Phase 1: Erwin và Levi trùng sinh trong thế giới Detective Conan (10)
Another day, when Kid deals with a murder for blaming him guilty, Levi and Conan do him a favor to figure out the real culprit.
Title: Shadows of Innocence
The city buzzed with scandal as news spread that the infamous Kaito Kid had been accused of murder. A high-profile art collector was found dead in his penthouse, and all evidence seemed to point to Kid—the jewel he had been planning to steal was found at the scene, and witnesses claimed to have seen his signature white cape fleeing the building. The police launched a manhunt, determined to bring the elusive thief to justice.
But for Conan Edogawa and Levi Ackerman, something didn't sit right. Conan, with his sharp analytical mind, suspected Kid was being framed, while Levi, though skeptical of Kid's flamboyant style, knew better than to jump to conclusions.
The Encounter
It didn't take long for Kid to find them. The thief appeared on the roof of Teitan Elementary, his usual grin replaced by a look of frustration. Levi, sipping his coffee, barely glanced up. "You again."
Kid tipped his hat. "Levi-sensei, Conan-kun, I need a favor. You've heard the news, I assume?"
Conan frowned. "You mean the murder? Why are you here?"
Kid sighed, his usual charm dimmed. "Because I didn't do it. Someone wants me out of the way, and they're using this murder to accomplish that. But I can't prove my innocence alone."
Levi set his coffee down, his sharp eyes locking onto Kid. "You're a thief. Why should we trust you?"
Kid smirked faintly. "Because even a thief has limits. I steal jewels, not lives."
Conan nodded slowly. "If what you're saying is true, then the real culprit is still out there. We'll help you—if only to uncover the truth."
The Investigation
Conan and Levi began piecing together the case, starting with the penthouse crime scene. Levi used his sharp instincts to notice details the police had overlooked: a faint trail of mud leading to the back door, suggesting an intruder had come in through the garden. Conan examined the jewel Kid had been accused of stealing, noting fingerprints that didn't match Kid's.
"This was planted," Conan said, holding the jewel up to the light. "The real thief wanted to frame you, Kid."
Levi snorted. "Doesn't mean you're off the hook yet. Let's see where this mud trail leads."
Uncovering the Truth
Their investigation led them to a rival thief—a man known only as "The Phantom." Unlike Kid, who thrived on showmanship, The Phantom worked in the shadows, stealing for profit rather than flair. Levi and Conan discovered that The Phantom had been targeting the art collector's jewels for months and saw Kid as a convenient scapegoat for the murder.
Kid, frustrated by his rival's cunning, joined Conan and Levi in tracking down The Phantom. Levi, despite his initial disdain for Kid, couldn't help but notice the thief's resourcefulness and agility. "You're not useless," Levi muttered grudgingly. "Still a pain, though."
Kid grinned faintly. "From you, Levi-sensei, I'll take that as a compliment."
The Confrontation
The chase culminated in an abandoned warehouse, where The Phantom was preparing to flee with a stash of stolen jewels. Levi burst in first, his blade drawn and his glare deadly. "End of the line."
The Phantom, startled, tried to run but was intercepted by Kid, whose glider allowed him to block the exit. "You're quick," Kid said, his grin returning. "But I'm quicker."
Conan, stepping forward, held up the planted jewel. "You framed Kid because you thought it would throw the police off your trail. But you left too many clues."
With Levi's intimidating presence and Kid's finesse, The Phantom surrendered, and the stolen jewels were recovered. The police arrived shortly after, clearing Kid's name and taking The Phantom into custody.
Aftermath
As the dust settled, Kid stood on the warehouse roof, looking down at Levi and Conan with genuine gratitude. "You didn't have to help me, but you did. I owe you both."
Levi snorted, his usual scowl in place. "Don't get used to it. Next time you pull one of your stunts, you're on your own."
Kid tipped his hat with a grin. "Fair enough. But let's hope our paths cross again—preferably not under such dire circumstances."
Conan watched as Kid disappeared into the night, a thoughtful look in his eyes. "For someone who lives in the shadows, he's not so bad."
Levi glanced at Conan, a rare flicker of respect in his gaze. "Don't let it go to your head, kid."
