Phase 2: Multiverse saga: Thế giới Avengers (2)
Building Bonds in the Chaos
As the battle progressed, the Avengers began to appreciate the raw, precise efficiency of the Survey Corps. Captain America took note of Erwin's commanding presence and strategy, recognizing him as a tactician who could rival his own battlefield experience.
At one point, Thor approached Mikasa after she deftly maneuvered past a Chitauri soldier to deliver a lethal strike. "Your skill is unmatched, warrior," he praised. "You fight as if guided by the gods themselves!"
Mikasa, stoic as ever, nodded in acknowledgment but didn't respond. She was focused entirely on the fight, ensuring her comrades remained unharmed. Thor admired her silent determination and pledged to assist her whenever she was in danger. The two quickly formed an unspoken alliance during the fray, working together to shield civilians and obliterate enemy forces.
Meanwhile, Hange practically latched onto Tony Stark. "These machines—these suits—how do they work? The propulsion systems, the energy source—" she rattled off, her curiosity unstoppable.
Tony raised a brow, clearly amused. "Lady, I think you're the first person to appreciate my brilliance mid-apocalypse. You're my kind of scientist."
Despite the chaos, Tony found himself explaining rudimentary aspects of his suit's design to Hange, who soaked up every word like a sponge. Their budding camaraderie hinted at a future collaboration, much to Levi's chagrin as he passed by. "Focus on killing things, Hange," he snapped.
Even Bruce Banner found himself unexpectedly bonded with Armin, who was fascinated by Banner's duality—the soft-spoken scientist and the raging, unstoppable Hulk. "You manage to keep that monster contained most of the time," Armin observed with awe. "It's inspiring... terrifying, but inspiring."
Bruce, touched by Armin's thoughtful words, replied, "It's a balancing act, one I still struggle with. But the courage I see in all of you—the way you face those Titans—it's something worth learning from."
Levi, meanwhile, remained aloof from most of the Avengers, but Natasha Romanoff saw through his cool demeanor. "You've seen the worst humanity has to offer, haven't you?" she asked during a brief lull in the battle.
Levi glanced at her, his expression dark. "And you haven't?" he retorted sharply.
Natasha smirked. "Fair enough. But let me guess—you still fight for them anyway."
For once, Levi didn't have a snarky reply. He simply nodded before turning back to the fight.
After the Dust Settles
With Loki defeated and the portals closed, the Avengers and Survey Corps regrouped to assess the damage and tend to the wounded. Despite the massive destruction, both teams felt a sense of victory—not just in the battle but in the unlikely alliance that had formed.
Erwin spoke to Captain America, expressing his gratitude. "We may come from different worlds, but the principles you uphold—justice, sacrifice, and hope—they resonate deeply with us."
Steve Rogers smiled. "It's the same fight, no matter where we're from."
Tony Stark handed Hange a small tablet containing blueprints for some of his tech. "Consider this my thank-you gift. Just don't go building anything that'll outshine me."
Hange clutched the tablet like it was her most prized possession, barely able to contain her excitement. "This—this will revolutionize everything!"
Thor, ever the dramatist, raised his hammer and declared, "The Survey Corps fought valiantly alongside the Avengers today. Should you ever need aid in your world, call upon me, Thor of Asgard, and I shall answer!"
Levi muttered under his breath, "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."
Before the Corps returned to their own dimension, Natasha approached Levi again. "You're not so different from us. If you ever find yourself in our world again, you know where to find allies."
Levi regarded her with a rare flicker of respect. "I'll keep that in mind."
The Survey Corps returned home, forever changed by their encounter with Earth's Mightiest Heroes. They brought back not only advanced knowledge but also a renewed sense of camaraderie, knowing that even in the darkest times, unlikely alliances could spark hope—and defiance—against impossible odds.
