I didn't come from a wealthy family, in fact, most of the people in my family tree were pretty poor. But when my mother moved to Korea and started her own life there, she struck gold in founding her own company, having kids, and living a pretty successful life.
My older brother was off at business school, studying next to the H Corp Heir, who happened to be a good friend of my mother's. I guess they immediately bonded, due to their philosophies and tight regiments.
But enough about that. It was the first day of the school year, and I happened to be moving departments. I was going to be transferred to the Fashion Department due to a lack of interest in the Beauty Department.
I gripped onto the straps of my bag and started to walk towards the car that would come to pick me up.
"Good Morning (Y/N)," my assistant chirped, smiling like usual, his white teeth almost blinding to look at. "It's your first day of school, and in a new department, are you ready?" I chuckled as he climbed into the driver's seat.
"Am I ever really ready? I mean, I'll be in class with a few people I know. It'll be interesting. Also, tell mother that she doesn't need to worry anymore, I can take care of myself." My assistant nodded, smiling.
"Duly noted, (Y/N)."

"Welcome back to the new semester. I hope you're ready because I'm not teaching."
Honestly I thought this was what the teacher was going to say because of the chaos that was happening behind me. I sat in the front row, next to some guys and Crystal's younger sister, who I had gotten acquainted with a while back. I tapped her shoulder lightly, making her attention gather on my nervous face.
"Are they... usually like this?" I whispered, jabbing a thumb at the ruckus and commotion behind. The girl shrugged and sighed, pushing her glasses up a bit.
"I'm afraid they are," she replied quietly. "The fashion department wasn't the best one you could've joined. But hey, it's always the center of a lot of drama." I chuckled and tapped my fingers on the hard wooden desk but caught sight of a blonde boy, fingers bedazzled in Chrome Heart rings, staring out the window at the busy streets of Seoul.
I was about to ask who he was, but the bell interrupted me and Crystal got up quickly and disappeared, no where to be seen after. I was late to pack my things and go to break, but so was the blonde guy. I glanced at him, and caught him looking at me.
I hesitated for a moment before smiling and waving at him. He was on another level. Quiet, smart, and kinda cute. He had it all figured out.
But now I just needed to know his name.

"(Y/N) dear, we're going to a friend's house, so dress up nicely, why don't you?" my mother asked, putting on her earrings, and slipping into her lavender heels. I sighed and nodded, closing the door to my room gently, shutting the blinds.
"I wonder whose house are we going to today? Please don't tell me it's that old guy's again. He has absolutely horrible manners," I thought, putting on appropriate attire for the event. I got out of my room, straightening everything and trying to rearrange my hair to match the outfit.
"Nick, are you coming?" I called, grabbing a lavish clutch and waiting downstairs in dress shoes. The older assistant bolted down the stairs, files in hand and ready to present. Laughing, I nudged his shoulder with my elbow.
"You're so easy to get riled up, it's adorable," I cooed, stuffing my hands in my pockets. Nick rolled his eyes, smirking.
"I'm not younger than you," he huffed. "I'm not a minor anymore, I turned 22 last week." I scoffed and flicked his wrist.
"But you still act like one," I teased, sticking my tongue out. He snorted and opened his mouth to speak when my mother rushed us to the car, basically stuffing us inside the luxury vehicle.
"I heard our business partner's son has an eye for beautiful people like you," Nick hummed, winking. I pressed my lips into a thin line, smiling tightly.
"I'm not into those kinds of people anyways."

I arrived at the H Corp house hold and breathed a sigh of relief. A normal civilized human's home, thank god. A voice rang from the answering box.
"Who is it?" A girl? That's new. I didn't know that Kitae had a sister. Once the door opened, a smiling ravenette greeted us.
"Oh! Miss Kim, it's nice to finally meet you!" My mother kept her maiden name as she married and had us. Our father left us when I was quite young, so our family didn't rely on a male counterpart. But joke's on you since we're basking in money right now.
"It's also a pleasure to see you, Joy. It's been such a long time since I've seen you. Back then, you were only a baby. Now you're in... high school now, correct?"
"That's right! Why don't you come in and have a seat on the couch? My brother will be with you shortly." I bowed and returned a smile, stepping into the large suite, and took a seat on the soft cushions. Before I knew it, Kitae was out, hair combed over one eye, gel prominent in his black locks.
"Hello again, Miss Kim," he greeted my mother with his baritone voice. "You haven't aged a single bit the last time I saw you." I turned to the flustered woman, her laughs filling up the rather quiet space.
"Kitae, you flatter me too much. But allow me to introduce my child, (Y/N) (L/N). This is the first time they've been really exposed to business. I also believe that your brother goes to the same school as they do." I bowed and greeted the heir politely, smiling slightly, but not too much.
"It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Kitae. I've heard a lot of great things about you. Brother always reports back to me how his university is flowing. You're a great deal of help to him, and I want to thank you for that." I nodded at Nick for him to bring me the little gift bag.
My assistant handed me a small box, and as I opened it, I saw the glint in Kitae's eyes.
"It's a thank you gift. A small token of appreciation, for you. My brother works very hard to achieve his position, and it's thanks to you that he made it. It's a traditional jade bracelet, that can be worn on full moons. It brings good health and good luck to the wearer. I do hope you like it." He took the box with two hands, and delicately slipped it on, testing the wrist size.
"This is beautiful," he complimented, grinning. "Thank you very much, (Y/N). It must be a coincidence, because I also have a gift for you. A little bird told me that you'd like to be part of the fashion world, correct?" I nodded, curious as to what Kitae was going to bring out.
"Well, my brother is actually going to give you that gift. Jae, would you please come out?" I was intrigued as to who was going to come through the door.
My heart stopped suddenly when the blonde bombshell emerged.
"Don't you know each other?" I could hear the edge laced in my mother's voice, and my cheeks turned pink.
"Y-yeah, we're in the fashion department at Jae Wong High. Same class. We saw each other today, actually." Kitae chuckled.
"What a coincidence. You're in the same class, and our families happen to be quite close." I smiled forcefully, my grin not reaching my eyes.
"Back to the gift. I got you a Chrome Heart ring, the original. Custom made into a necklace, so you can pair it with anything that you want." He pulled out a dazzling silver ring slung onto a rose gold chain, shining with every step that Kitae took.
"It's yours now. Take good care of it." He put it in the palm of my hand, curling my fingers around the precious gem.
"I also requested it to be similar to Jae's, so you know that you don't have a partner far from you." It took me a second to process what that meant. I wheeled around and turned to my mom. She had a smirk on her face, waving me off.
You planned this, you evil woman. I turned slowly to glance at Kitae. He had a corresponding look on his face. Dammit all, you're businessmen/women, not matchmakers.
I sighed and pulled it around my neck, feeling the weight on my collarbone. I blushed a bit, glancing at Jae's hands.
"Chrome colored, resting near your heart. It's important, you know?"
