Chapter 3
One by one, the levels of the building before us started to crumble down to dust and ashes. Shaw broke through the building, leaving the dust behind him as he sped off.
"Let's move," Hobbs said, making us all turn around and race to our cars. Dom and I grabbed our own cars while Hobbs grabbed his tank of a jeep.
Street lights and paved streets were what I saw before me until I car zoomed in front of me, racing down the streets. The car was unlike anything I've seen before, it was made out of bullet proof metal and the front was flat, almost touching the ground.
"Toretto, Fuller, it's on you. Straight ahead, don't lose him," Hobbs came over the speaker as Dom and I were head to head on the chase. "Ain't gonna happen," Dom said while my mind was focused on the metal car before me.
Shaw speeds up while police cars follow, some coming from the front in hopes of blocking him off. Instead, one of the police cars coming from the front sped towards him only to fly off the front and into the air. I quickly turned, avoiding the flying car that landed right by me.
"Crap," I said under my breath before following Shaw.
"Dom, Em! Tej and Roman are out! Where you at?" Brian asked over the walky. I picked up my walky to answer but stopped when Dom spoke up, "I'm right behind you!"
We race through the streets, going under a bridge that was filled with cars. One by one, police cars and other cars were being pushed to the side or flown in the air by Shaw's car.
As soon as we bust out of the bridge, Shaw makes a sharp left, causing my car to quickly follow. I lost Dom and Hobbs on the other side but at this moment, I was more focused on chasing Shaw and finding my sister.
Quickly, I sped forward, watching as my car seemed to over speed Shaw's. My car was line and line with Shaw's, causing me to quickly slam into his side. Before he could turn to loose me, Hobbs' jeep slammed into his other side. Shaw's car started to slow down only to be hit from behind by Dom. Dom's car sped up, keeping Shaw in line with us.
Suddenly, my car jolted a bit as another car slammed into my side. My face quickly turned, looking at the black car next to me.
My eyes went wide and a single name left my lips as I saw the girl who was driving. "Paris."
The jolt of my car gave Shaw just the advantage he needed and broke away from Dom, Hobbs, and I. Paris' car made a turn, following another road and peeling away from us.
My left leg jumped up and down as I debated whether or not to follower her.
Against the part of me that wanted to get Shaw and bring him back, I made the sharp turn. My car followed Paris'. Both of us raced down an empty road, before Paris' car came to a suddenly stop. A gasp left my lips as my car bumped into her back, making us both turn and skid to another stop.
Quickly, my feet and hands moved before my brain could even process everything that was going on.
Paris stepped out of her car just as I did, my mouth dropped and my eyes wide as they traced over every part of her.
"Paris," I said in disbelief, my feet stopping me right in front of my car. Paris stares at me, her feet doing the same. She's grown up so much, yet her face and hair look the same.
"Hi Emily," Paris said, her voice showing no emotion.
"What are you doing? How are you alive?" I asked, my mind unable to focus on just one question. Paris looked at me, almost angrily, before her hand reached behind her, yanking out a gun and aiming it at me.
My hands flew up, my feet taking a step back. "Wow, wow, wait. Paris it's me, it's your sister."
"You lied to me," Paris said, her voice now showing emotion. Pain. "You told me that if I left, I'd be safe. And you know what I wasn't? Safe." She paused, her head shaking lightly as she kept her gun pointed at me. "I couldn't do it, my feet wouldn't let on the bus. So I went to Britney's, told what had happened and figured she'd let me sleep on her couch. She closed the door in my face."
"Paris I'm so..." I started but Paris took a step towards me, stopping me as she kept her gun on me.
"So then I went home, hoping you'd be there and instead you were gone. The next thing I know, you're on the news, wanted for crime after crime. Mom was so pissed that you left, and when she saw you on news... I've never felt pain like that before."
Suddenly, another pulled up beside mine, Dom getting out.
"Dom don't move," Paris said, making Dom stop in between his and my car. His hands found their way up in the air as well, silent.
Hoping to get more answers, and draw Paris' attention away from Dom, I asked, "What happened to mom?"
Paris' eyes looked back at me, sadness filling them. "I did what you couldn't. Britney came home one day, mom was drunk in the chair and Britney just went into her room and closed the door. Her and her boyfriend broke up, so she was getting high. I couldn't take it, so I started the fire and left before anyone knew. No one saw me, and everyone thought I was dead."
My heart broke, crushing my body as I thought of my sister, my little sister starting a fire and killing our family.
"I was finally free too. I could start a new life, a better one. And that's exactly what I'm doing now."
Paris took another step, aiming her gun right at me. My heart was beating so fast that I wondered if it would start a heart attack. My hands shook, fear running through my body in an unfamiliar way.
This wasn't my sister.
"I'm your sister, you won't shoot me," I said, determination in my voice as I took a step forward. My hands lowered as my eyes stayed on Paris'. Dom quickly took a few steps forward, his hands down as he stood next to me. His arms were ready to push me out of the way or stop the situation if need be.
But he didn't say a word.
Paris stared at me, her eyes and face showing the sadness. "Your right, I won't shoot you. But I will shoot him," Paris said. Suddenly, the gun went off and the bullet shot Dom's arm, throwing him back against my car.
"Dom," I said, quickly turning to his side, both his hand and mine holding his shoulder. By the time I had looked back, expecting to see my sister lowering the gun, she had instead jumped in the car and drove off.
Disappearing into the night.
Shock and sadness filled my body as I watched her drive off. Dom groaning, pulled me back to him, my hand pulling away to see his white shirt now stained with blood.
"Come on, we have to get you back," I said, helping Dom up and into my passenger seat. I quickly jumped into the driver seat, racing off down the road and back to the meet up spot.
Han and Gisele were sitting on their cars while Roman was going on and on about everything. "This is crazy. We are not in Brazil. So, now we got cars flying in the air? On some 007-type shit? This is not what we do!"
Tej jumped into the conversation, annoyed with Roman, "Man, you really got to check that emotion. Your voice just went from Shaggy to Scooby-Doo."
"See, man, when a woman starts shooting at you, that's a clear sign to back the fuck off! We need to get the hell out of Dodge! That could have been my forehead, man"
Tej looked over at Roman's car before looking back at Roman, shaking his head, "No. That's not as big as your forehead."
Brian was walking around, talking on the phone with Mia while Dom was sitting on a metal table. Using some medical supplies, I was able to get the bullet out of Dom's arm.
"Em," Dom said, breaking the silence since we got here. "I don't want to talk about it," I said, my eyes fixed on Dom's shoulder as I started to sow it up. "Ya got too," Dom said, making my eyes look at the ground.
Looking at Dom, my voice cracked as I said, "She looked right at me Dom. Pointed a gun at me. My sister, she'd never do that, never. She didn't even know how to use a gun, or even drive like that."
Brian spoke up, making me jump and turn to find him next to me, "Maybe the Paris we once knew is gone. She may be alive, but that may not be here."
"You don't turn your back on family," I said, looking over my shoulder at Brian.
"Em I know I said she was family but..."
I quickly turned around, facing Brian fully. The look of anger on my face made his face look shock and his feet take a step back. "She is family Brian! She's my family! And so are you, which means my family is yours and we don't turn our back on family. Even when they do," I said, my body quickly turning and my attention going back to Dom's shoulder.
"Em..." Dom started, his eyes soft as he looked at me. My expression hadn't changed from before when my eyes looked at him, "If you want out. Then you can go, because I'm staying, and I'm getting my sister back."
Dom stared at me, the look of sadness in his eyes as he slid off the table. His hands moved slowly, calmly rubbing circles on my arms as he said, "I'm sorry." He leaned down, giving my forehead a kiss before pulling away.
It's crazy how one look, one action, can melt all of your walls and let your emotions out.
That's what Dom could do to me with those soft, loving, meaningful eyes.
Dom threw on a white tank top before following me over to the small group. His hand found mine instantly as I leaned against the wall.
"This is crazy, man," Roman said, looking at the computer screens that held pictures of Shaw and his team. Or at least the ones we knew of. "Almost as crazy as you," I said, making Roman glare over at me and a laugh leave Tej's lips while a chuckle left Dom's.
Roman shook his head and gestured to the people on the screen, "I'm sitting here looking at these images. It's like we're hunting our evil twins. Look at this black dude right here, he's handsome. Clearly, that's me. We got a white Hobbs. This is Han. Tej, it's an African in a beanie. That's like your Mini-Me, man."
We all let a small laugh leave our lips as we shake our heads at Roman. He then points to a blonde female, "And Brian! When did you do this photo shoot?" Brian lets out a loud white teeth laugh. "I'm just playing, man. You know you're the prettiest blonde around here," Roman said, making me clear my throat.
"And you're the best bald guy here, I'm curious, is that by choice or DNA?" I asked making everyone laugh once again, even Roman let a soft laugh leave his lips.
These were the kind of moments I loved. Where everyone was happy, laughing at some stupide comment Roman made. Just enjoying each other.
Hobbs broke the laughter and happiness by pulling up in his steel jeep, jumping out with the DSS agent. "All right, lock it up. We got two things. First off, this is the worst damn city in the world to commit a crime. They got cameras on every street corner. I got video footage from CCTV of the raid. Let's track that, see where it leads us. And secondly, we just got confirmation on what Shaw's crew grabbed from Interpol. They ripped off the database of every location that houses the final component that they need."
"So where are they at?" Brian asked?
The DSS agent spoke up, "There are over two dozen of them around Europe." "But the list is only good for 96 hours. Which means, wherever Shaw's crew is going to hit next, it's going to happen within the next four days. They got a window, and so do we. We gotta move."
Dom let go of my hand, taking a few steps away and looking around at the group, "Hobbs is right. So let's break this down." Dom looked at Tej, "You met them, what do we know?"
Tej let out a sigh before saying, "We know they have to be running custom engines. You heard that flip car going through those gears."
"Sequential transmission," Hans said making Gisele's eyebrows come together in confusion, "That didn't sound like a normal engine." I spoke up, pushing myself off of the wall and making my way over to a table, leaning my hands on it. "That was a turbo diesel, it sounded like something you hear at Le Mans."
"Did you see it take all those hits and still stay flat in the corners?" Tej said, shaking his head in amazement. "Yeah, hydraulics," Roman said, crossing his arms. "Or magnetic suspension," Brian said, making his way over to us as well.
"Who not only has access to the components, but can fabricate something like that?" Hans asked?
"Maybe a handful of shops in London," I said, shrugging as I moved my hands away from the table and crossed them over my chest.
Dom spoke up next, is voice showing that he was in charge, "Regular tuner shops aren't going to cut it on this one. We're going to have to dig deeper than that. Han, Gisele, Roman, you're up. We find the guy who made that car, we find Shaw."
Gisele wasted no time in grabbing a gun and readying it, "Alright, let's go." Hans smiled as he watched her leave, "Roger that."
I looked over to Tej, "Tej, we're gonna need cars without computer chips that can be overridden. Make sure they're fast," I said, making Tej chuckle, "I got this Mrs. Toretto."
My eyes rolled as I shook my head at Tej. Hobbs looked between the two of us, confused, clearly not understanding the joke. "I'm already on it, Emily. I've contacted R&D at DSS."
Tej quickly put up his hand, silencing Hobbs which made his eyes go wide, "Hobbs, I said I got this."
I smile wide as I looked between the two, "Oh, this should be interesting."
Sorry it took me so long to update, I got sick last week and couldn't even write without feeling sick. Now I'm better and working again.
Note: If you are getting board or in the future get board with Part 2 which takes place in Fast and Furious 6 then you can skip to Part 3 which will take place in Fast and Furious 7 when I wrote it. As far as I know right now, there isn't much you'll be missing but I wanted to write this movie because Paris will be coming up in the future.
Maybe..
