Chapter 16: The Night
After spending two hours doing the workshop, Wanwan let each couple take turns to go out for dinner to prepare for filming until late at night. Danny also took the opportunity to talk to Faye and Yoko privately to give them more advice. The main content was to instruct Faye to follow the agreement, repeating the most basic things Danny often said, especially to always stay close to Yoko and not let her out of your sight. Yoko was also asked to do the same.
The two hours of the workshop just now made Yoko still feel very disappointed. She was quite affected, constantly hearing Faye asking in her ear what capacity she had to care about her, which made her unable to get out of character and completely silent. Yoko sat close to Faye and listened to Danny's instructions. Under the table, her hand gently held Faye's finger. As soon as Faye felt it, she intertwined her five fingers with hers and held it tightly, reassuring her.
Danny left after giving instructions. Before leaving, she had noticed the two people's small movements.
Seeing that there was no one else in the cabin, Faye immediately reached out and hugged Yoko. Because she could clearly feel how much she needed comfort. In the workshop just now, the two of them had acted out many argument scenes. Faye brushed her hair aside and let her lean against her chest, patting her back.
Yoko silently felt, slowly wrapping her arms around Faye's waist. Although very tall, Faye was thin, with a small and toned waist. And with such a height difference, Faye could easily hold Yoko in her arms.
Faye is very fragrant and soft, Yoko has known this for a long time. She is also very open and likes to lean on others, hug them, comfort them, and care for them. Although the three-way agreement clearly stipulates that the two of them can do intimate actions beyond friendship, Yoko rarely uses those privileges. But today, she couldn't refuse, because the two of them were so absorbed in their characters that she was afraid that Faye would leave her like in those scenes.
The two hugged each other for a while and then went to eat together. There was very little time to eat because they had to start filming right after. That night the crew was very productive and the lights were bright, filming was barely finished until midnight.
Faye and Yoko returned to their room. The two of them were so tired that they couldn't talk. Faye got her things and went to take a shower first. When she returned, she took Yoko and sat outside the bathroom door waiting for her, afraid that she would be alone. When she finished, they went back to their sleeping compartment. This action made their two assistants feel redundant. Nhan was extremely understanding, pulling Yoko's assistant back to the room, not affecting Faye and Yoko's private world.
By the time they both got into bed, it was almost 1.am in the morning. It had been a long time since Yoko had stayed up this late. Ever since she met Faye, she seemed to be staying up even more late.
"Are you tired today?" Yoko asked, rubbing herself under the blanket.
"Yeah, we're both tired." Faye lay straight, eyes closed to rest but still answered her.
"Sister Faye.." The little girl continued talking.
"What's wrong?" Even though she was very tired, Faye still answered gently.
"Have you ever been angry with your lover like the scene just now?" Thinking of the times Faye acted angry, Yoko asked curiously.
Faye sighed: "Why are you asking that?"
"Because you acted so well.." Yoko recalled tonight's scenes. Not just average, but very good, so immersed that even the director praised them.
After a long while, Faye still did not answer. Thinking that she had fallen asleep, Yoko also quietly closed her eyes and turned her face to the wall. The room was dark, only the light from the street lamp in the distance shone through the closed curtains.
"There have been times when I lost my temper and caused irreparable consequences. So I know how to act in such scenes." Faye opened her eyes to look at the ceiling and whispered, "And didn't you act very well?"
The scenes where Faye is angry are paralleled by scenes where Yoko is heartbroken. There are times when she gets teary-eyed and cries, tears falling one drop from the left and a few drops from the right, her eyes are red, and on screen, it immediately makes the audience feel heartbroken.
"It's not just you who has experienced such things..."
Still facing the wall, Yoko spoke softly and then remained silent for a long time.
Faye turned to look and saw only her back. The director was really good this time, letting the two female leads rehearse the plot in a way that made both of them absorbed and sad.
Maybe something happened in Yoko's past that made someone who had everything like her still have moments of insecurity and introversion. Maybe Yoko was like her, having gone through things that neither of them wanted to talk about anymore. Faye thought to herself, then quickly fell asleep.
....
Faye Peraya woke up at four in the morning from a nightmare. Rubbing her aching head from staying up late, she lay on the bed tossing and turning, trying to forget the images from her dream and find a position to go back to sleep. After a while, Faye sighed and sat up, she couldn't go back to sleep.
The weather at the end of February was still chilly, especially in the early morning in a northern province like here. Faye pulled the curtains gently so as not to make any noise, looking outside she saw that it was still dark but the horizon was starting to lighten. The light was just enough to see the dim surroundings and shine into the room.
Faye looked over to the bed next to her, little Yoko was sleeping soundly. Yoko's chubby cheeks were red from the cold, her eyes were closed, not knowing what she was dreaming about, her eyelashes were twitching slightly. Across the bed, the little girl next to her kicked her blanket to the floor, then curled up. Faye walked over, picked up the blanket, dusted it off, and covered her again. She took her coat and prepared to go out. Before leaving the room, Faye thought for a moment and decided to cover Yoko with her own blanket. With two blankets as warm as that, she probably wouldn't kick them off again. Only after finishing did Faye feel at ease to go out.
The crew is on the train tonight, and will gather at six in the morning to shoot some scenes in this city. The train will wait for the crew until noon, then continue north. The next big city the crew stops at is a city with both sea and mountains. The crew will stay there for three days and two nights before returning. This is a long journey with tight timing.
Faye washed her face to wake up, then put on her coat and walked to the canteen, where there were large glass windows, perfect for watching the scenery outside. This was the place where she had rehearsed her angry scenes with Yoko last night, and now she was sitting alone watching the sunrise.
Everyone was resting in the other compartments, and outside the station, the crew's nanny car was parked. Because Faye woke up too early, the scene was quiet, not a soul in sight. She went to the cafeteria bar and made herself a cup of hot black coffee. Faye was a coffee person, while Yoko always had juice or tea. She really knew how to take care of her health.
"Why are you sitting here?" She hadn't sat down for long when Yoko's voice rang out from behind her. Her hair was long, she was still wearing pajamas, and she had a big scarf wrapped around her to keep warm. Yoko rubbed her eyes, still not awake, and asked Faye.
Just now, Yoko accidentally woke up and didn't see Faye, so she went to look for her. Faye looked at her, smiled, and moved to the side so Yoko could sit where she had just sat, that position was warmer for her, she spread her arms to let Yoko come closer. Yoko lay neatly on the long sofa, very naturally resting her head on Faye's lap, closing her eyes, not knowing if she had fallen asleep yet. Faye hugged her, her hand still not forgetting to cover the scarf carefully so Yoko wouldn't be cold. At this moment, the two of them were closest to each other ever. If Faye wanted, she could just lean over and kiss Yoko's chubby cheeks that were blushing from the cold.
Smiling at her thoughts, Faye continued to look out the window at the sunrise.
Sometimes Faye wondered, with that perverted Tripartite Agreement, if it weren't for her, would Yoko be in danger?
That agreement almost allows the two actors to do intimate acts anywhere, anytime to create an effect for the fans to see. If it was an agreement between Yoko and an actor with bad intentions, for example, wouldn't something bad happen to her?
The agreement is divided into three phases, each phase will follow the movie. In the first phase, actions such as hugging, holding hands, kissing on the cheek, commenting, emotional posts, etc. are approved. In the second phase, scenes of kissing, jealousy, swimming, sleeping together, etc. are approved. In the third phase, when the movie starts showing and has a certain level of popularity, all the actions in the previous phase must be performed regularly every time they appear in front of fans. Even when the movie ends, it is clearly stated that the intimate agreement cannot be broken for a long time.
That was also the reason why when choosing the actress for Yoko's role, Faye eliminated all the auditionees with impure eyes. She only wanted this film to be successful, and would not use anyone as a tool, and even less wanted any actor to take advantage of her to become famous. This agreement was no different from the marriage contracts that are often seen in movies. The only difference was that this was not a marriage, but a film, a business benefit.
'It's lucky to have found Yoko.' Faye told herself this many times.
Because the feeling of pure trust Yoko brings, it's really worth it.
Faye is cheerful and sociable but mostly secretly difficult, especially when it comes to things she doesn't like. So if someone wants to be close to her just to show her fans and like her, Faye probably won't be able to control herself and kick that person away.
Faye stayed like that until almost five in the morning, when the sun began to appear on the horizon. She patted Yoko to wake her up and watch the sunrise together. Yoko had become very familiar with leaning her head on Faye's shoulder, who was still curled up in the blanket. Her eyes watched the sunrise from afar, her hands picked up Faye's coffee cup and took a sip.
"It's too bitter, don't drink it." Faye lifted her hair to make it easier for her to drink, but still stopped her.
"For you, fruit juice is not too sweet, so for me, coffee is not bitter either." Yoko said calmly.
