Chapter 17: The reason I met you.

The schedule for staying in this locality was very tight, so after waking up and getting ready at 6am, the whole crew got in the car to go filming outdoors. Like filming a local tourism commercial, Faye and Yoko were taken to many scenic spots here to visit.

At first it was just acting, but gradually the two of them seemed to be in character, traveling. Yoko held Faye's hand and pulled her along, then showed her the beautiful sights of the relic site, her mouth not forgetting to continuously introduce the locations. Minhan looked at the script, then looked at director Wanwan. It was clear that the two actors were acting outside the script, but Wan still didn't call cut, still letting them improvise. Faye was impatient, her face was difficult to please, but she still let Yoko hold her hand and pull her along, still attentively listening to this half-baked tour guide. The way they talked on screen was more like Faye and Yoko themselves than the roles they had to play.

After Faye and Yoko finished their scene, it was time for the remaining couple, Ize and Marisa. Faye went back to the crew's tour bus to rest, while Yoko, full of youthful energy, ran after the crew to watch the remaining two actors perform.

Because she didn't get enough sleep in the morning, Faye was quite tired. Faye turned to tell Nhan, then crawled into the back seat of the 56-seat tourist bus of the film crew to lie down and rest. Before covering herself with a large towel to sleep, she didn't forget to put a bucket hat on her face to block out all the surrounding light. If you didn't look closely, looking down from the front of the bus, you definitely wouldn't see Faye lying there resting.

Don't know how long passed, in her fitful sleep, Faye heard people talking at the front of the car.

"Mr Lex has finished all the arrangements. When the group returns to the city, Hanna will join the group to play a guest role."

The voice seemed to belong to assistant Yoko. Faye frowned at being awakened, 'Hanna? It's the girl who auditioned that time.'

"It's Hanna again, is the company out of people or something that they have to force her into the group.." The other female voice rang out, this seemed to be Yoko's makeup artist, Faye didn't remember this girl very well either.

"Stop it, even this role was originally Hanna's, Yoko used special effects to get the role. Let me tell you, that time Lex originally told Yoko to be late because Hanna auditioned first, but who would have thought she would intentionally come early and ruin all the company's plans..." the gossipy assistant

Hearing this, Faye started to feel uncomfortable. The last time she heard Yoko talking to her friend at the audition, she happened to have a day off from school so she came early. But from what these people said, it was because Yoko played tricks.

Even that girl Hanna's acting is clearly not as good, let alone comparing her beauty with Yoko.

"That's just a rumor in our company, don't spread it around." The makeup artist stopped her assistant from saying anything more.

"What rumors, the whole company knows, Yoko also knows her identity, how dare she disobey. If Galaxy didn't ask for this trip, you and I wouldn't have to go on this torture trip." The assistant's voice became harsh.

Faye was about to sit up and give the two girls a beating when she heard a commotion.

"Yoko, when did you get here?" The makeup artist shouted in shock, then pulled the assistant's hand to remind her.

"We'll go first, Yoko, you should rest." The assistant really didn't respect her actress at all. Regardless of whether Yoko had heard what they said earlier or not, she said something vague and was about to leave.

"Wait." Yoko called them back, her cold eyes looking straight at the assistant. "From now on, you don't need to be my assistant anymore, I will handle it myself. Whether you want to continue following the group or return to the city is up to you."

"Hey, don't be so arrogant." The assistant who ate bear bile called out, ignoring the makeup artist who grabbed her hand to stop her.

"Arrogant? You don't even know how arrogant I can be." After saying that, she ignored those two and walked past them to get into the car.

When the room was quiet and the other two had left, Faye heard Yoko let out a soft sigh. From beginning to end, she did not say another word of reproach. Accidentally hearing those words made her sad, her reaction was also inevitable. It could be guessed that she had encountered this situation many times before reacting like today.

Even though Yoko had dealt with it, Faye was still very upset. She sat up and walked straight to the front of the car. When she appeared, Yoko opened her eyes wide in surprise. Yoko's first thought was whether Faye had heard what had just happened. When she looked at Faye's cold expression, Yoko immediately understood that she had heard it. Yoko suddenly felt embarrassed.

Faye walked over, grabbed Yoko's hand and tried to pull her away: "Come with me to see Wanwan." She intended to take her to talk to the director and get that assistant out of the film crew right away.

Yoko took Faye's hand, pulled her to sit next to her, her eyes smiling. She patted Faye's hand, to calm her down.

"It's okay, I can handle it, I don't need an assistant."

Even though she sat down next to her, Faye was still very upset, frowning and saying: "You were clearly chosen for your ability. Your management company is so bullshit."

This was almost the first time Yoko saw Faye so angry. Yoko, who was usually quiet, felt warm because of that. Yoko smiled softly and comforted Faye like she usually did.

"They don't know. It's just a small management company anyway, the contract is up at the end of the year, I don't care. I signed up for Journey myself, auditioned myself, and won the role myself. That's enough, what they said can't make me sad." Yoko held Faye's hand tightly, her eyes smiling with satisfaction as she looked at her, "Besides, Hanna auditioned, I auditioned too. But you chose me, that's enough."

This sentence calmed Faye down a bit. Although she still followed Yoko and did not go find the assistant to settle the score, Faye still told Wan about this at noon so that Wan and Min would pay attention. After that, Faye arranged for Nhan to take care of Yoko's assistant work for the rest of the trip. This made Nhan busier, but it did not make it difficult for this talented assistant. She took care of Faye and Yoko very well.

After finishing the morning of filming in this city, the whole crew returned to the ship to prepare for the trip to the next city. The filming schedule was very tight, except for mealtimes, the actors had to work. Those who had scenes to film focused on filming, those who didn't had to practice their lines, rehearse, and do their makeup in advance to wait for their scene right after. The filming on the ship took place continuously, taking advantage of every angle and filming time. Even Faye had to admire the professionalism of the film crew, calculating the time and scenes very clearly. The whole crew was like a machine operating continuously.

When they reached the next city, the crew disembarked and went to a resort near the beach to check in and continue filming. They would stay there for three days before boarding the train back to the city. The resort consisted of several villas overlooking the ocean and a ten-story hotel. The crew rented the largest villa for filming while the crew stayed in the hotel rooms. This time, Faye and Yoko did not share a room, but two rooms next to each other. Yoko felt a little regretful, but she still said goodbye to Faye and went back to her room to prepare for tonight's filming.

The filming at the villa began as soon as the actors were ready and gathered. Faye had to take medicine to relieve her headache because she was so tired. But she still tried to complete the filming schedule with everyone. Because she was the main actress, Faye had more scenes and higher requirements. Faye's role was a lawyer, so she had to concentrate and gain a lot of specialized knowledge to be able to apply it to her role. Yoko played a female student at the police academy, so there were many scenes of her running and chasing, requiring dynamism. Tonight, there was a scene where Yoko had to chase a suspect and fell on the sand. Even though the scene was only filmed twice to get the angles, and there was a shock-absorbing mattress under the sand, seeing the girl running and falling like that still made Faye feel heartbroken.

Tonight's filming ended at 11pm, Faye lingered and sat alone watching the ocean for a long time before returning to her room. Yoko saw her, but hearing Nhan say Faye was tired, she didn't go over and just stood watching from afar before returning to her room first.

When Faye just got back to her room and was about to take a shower, she heard singing coming from the balcony. The voice was clear but no less sweet, the lyrics were about a girl lost because no one understood her. Faye quietly went out to the balcony, gently sat down on a chair and listened.

The person singing was of course none other than Yoko, she seemed to not know that Faye had returned to her room, so she dared to sit on the balcony and sing like that. The two balconies were separated by a high wall, so she did not know that Faye had been listening for a long time. Besides, she did not sing too loudly, the sound of the waves also murmured from afar and somewhat drowned out her singing. If the balconies were not close together, Faye would not have been able to hear her.

It was funny to think that Faye had accidentally overheard something all day. Unlike the morning when she heard Yoko's assistant say something harsh, listening to her sing like this at night was much more comfortable. Faye took out her phone and pressed record, after the singing stopped, the recording was sent to Director Wan. With such a good singing lead actress, if she didn't take advantage of it, it would be a mistake for Galaxy.

Originally, the plan was for only Faye to contribute her voice to the soundtrack, because no one knew Yoko could sing. Even the Nemo company never mentioned that their artist had this ability. Now putting everything together, Faye suspects even more that this management company has the intention of oppressing the actors. This is a very stupid move, because Journey is a film with a huge investment and a very high chance of success. If they don't take care of the actors, they will definitely leave one day.

Holding the phone, she texted Yoko, complimenting her singing and wishing her good night. Faye happily returned to her room.
