Chapter 22: Sisters Are Not Like That

In a corner of the supermarket in the shopping mall, a very cute young girl was holding hands with another beautiful girl to go to the supermarket. Even though both of them were only wearing simple clothes, black linen pants, a loose T-shirt inside and a cardigan outside, their hair was long, they were wearing black caps, masks and glasses that covered most of their faces. But outsiders could still see the sweet cuteness of the young girl, and the pampering beauty of the taller girl. Even in a normal space like a supermarket, this couple with such a height difference was still very prominent and eye-catching. So everyone thought that these two must be some famous people.

If she could hear the thoughts of the passersby, Faye would also have to admire their gazes. Except for the fact that the two of them weren't a couple, they were clearly judging her and Yoko correctly. It was no wonder that others thought the two of them were a couple, since Yoko insisted on choosing clothes that looked like couple clothes.

Faye pulled her mask up higher to avoid being recognized by others, one hand pushing the cart, the other hand was held by Yoko. Yoko happily chose food while pulling Faye along, not forgetting to talk about the dishes they could both cook, then discussed what to stock in the fridge so Faye would have food whenever needed. Faye smiled gently and answered her questions, sometimes protesting a little to buy spicy foods that she loved, but not much.

"Yoo, you bought too much." Faye looked at her gradually filling shopping cart and couldn't help but object. If you didn't know better, you would think she was buying for the whole army.

"There's nothing to eat at home." Yoko shook Faye's hand, her eyes still glancing over the shelves. She stopped in front of an instant noodle stall, picking out some more noodles to stock up on.

Faye said softly: "I don't eat that much." She objected but still stood next to her choosing noodles, conveniently putting her arms around Yoko's neck: "These noodles are delicious. Come home and I'll cook noodles for you."

Yoko smiled, she knew Faye liked to eat noodles so she deliberately chose carefully, looking at Faye she said mischievously: "Then I'll choose this one. Let's eat noodles and watch Netflix and chill together."

"Oh, that's fine."

Yoko winked and joked, not expecting that Faye completely didn't understand the figurative meaning of that sentence and agreed very quickly.

"Haha, it's just me, if you meet someone else, you can't agree to go to their house to eat noodles and watch Netflix together." Yoko hugged Faye's waist loosely, smiling and instructing.

Faye tilted her head in confusion: "Why?" Was there something wrong with what she just said?

But only saw Yoko shake her head and smile then turn back and pull her to continue shopping: "I won't tell you."

"Yooo.." Faye still didn't understand the meaning of that sentence, but just smiled indulgently at Yoko and pushed the cart behind her.

Tonight, the two of them decided to respect the Tripartite Agreement a little bit and try out what it would be like to be a normal couple together. Faye laughed out loud at Yoko's idea. Usually, if they had free time to spend together, they would go out for coffee or dinner. This time, it was just a simple change of location.

After finishing shopping at the supermarket, when paying, Faye looked at the tall shopping cart and took a deep breath, took out her card and paid for everything without saying anything more. Since it was still early, they both chose automatic delivery, the items would be delivered straight to their home. The two of them immediately went to the next place Yoko liked, which was a very large bookstore. Here, Faye experienced taking a friend to a bookstore for the first time, and this friend was also a girl who loved to read books. Yoko held Faye's hand, led her for a walk, and then chattered to her about which books were good, which stories to read, and which books she had. If Faye need them, just tell Yoko and she'll give them to Faye.

After a while, Yoko let Faye wait in a corner of the bookstore, while she picked out a bunch of recently published hardcover books to take home. Faye held a brand new book in her hand, the fresh smell of the paper was so fragrant that even she herself wanted to read it, let alone Yoko.

Faye saw her from afar reaching for a book high up, so Faye walked over and reached out to get the book for her. When Yoko turned her back, Faye was very close, her hand holding Yoko's waist, her eyes looking up to get the book she wanted. From this angle Yoko could clearly see Faye's profile, their posture was very close.

Thank goodness the bookstore was empty, because if anyone saw Faye Peraya right now, they would definitely be amazed at how handsome she was. Yoko thought to herself and smiled.

Faye took the book for her and then lowered her head to see her smiling at her. Because she saw this smile very often, Faye knew what she was thinking. She pinched her cheek and then took her hand back to its original place.

Faye and Yoko also took a lot of pictures because the movie was in the promotional phase, so they also needed to interact a lot on social networking sites. Yoko took a picture of Faye sitting among large stacks of books, as expected of a supermodel, Faye didn't need to pose much to stand out in that scene.

The two of them were very gentle and didn't say much to each other in the bookstore, but perhaps that was enough for them to understand what the other wanted.

That night Yoko decided to show off her cooking skills to Faye. She had studied abroad for 3 years in high school, and had lived alone for a long time in college, so she had a lot of cooking skills. Even though Yoko kicked her out of the living room to show off, when she saw Yoko start cooking, Faye couldn't bear to let her do it alone and went to work as a kitchen assistant. Yoko has always been a girl with a strong personality, if she decides to do something, she won't change her mind, this personality of hers is very similar to Faye's. So when she decides to cook a dish, she will complete it regardless of the comments from her 'kitchen assistant'.

By the time they finished two savory dishes, one stir-fried dish and one soup, even Faye had to nod in approval of her cooking skills. Yoko really knew how to cook, simply braised pork ribs, fried fish, stir-fried mixed vegetables with garlic and lotus root soup, but they were very delicious. Faye turned to look at Yoko, giving her a thumbs up to show her appreciation. Yoko raised her chin slightly, smiling proudly at the compliment.

The view from the balcony of Faye's penthouse was not as beautiful as Nam's, but it still had a wide view of the city at night. Right in the corner of the room was a subwoofer system specialized for listening to chamber music, currently playing soft, melodious music by Faye. The two of them sat down to eat in the living room, even though the sofa was large, they still sat close to each other, chatting and laughing, enjoying this rare peaceful atmosphere.

"Do you want to Netflix and chill later?" Yoko asked jokingly.

"If you want, go to my room, it's more comfortable to lie down and watch." Faye said innocently.

Yoko burst out laughing, she laughed so hard she fell over.

"Let me google what that word means, why are you laughing so much?" Faye reached for her phone to find out, but Yoko stopped her.

"No, no." Yoko whined.

"But what does it mean?"

"It means you can't do that to strangers except me." Yoko said domineeringly.

"Okay, okay, I don't want to know anymore. But I won't let you joke with me either." Faye shook her head to please her.

After the two of them finished eating, they quickly cleaned up. Faye took the responsibility of washing the dishes. It was like she cooked and faye washed. It was very suitable.

This was Faye's house, her private space, but from morning until now, ever since Yoko entered, Faye had invisibly removed all the defenses that surrounded her. Faye pampered her so much that it surpassed the level of sisterhood and friends, but she herself did not feel it. The evening passed gently and peacefully, making Faye realize that it had been a long time since her house had felt like a family.

The two finished cleaning up and took a shower before the next show. As Faye had wished, they went up to her room to watch a movie and enjoy the rest of the evening. Yoko was also thoughtful, making a pot of tea and some cookies, so they could watch the movie and drink tea.

Faye's master suite is the largest in the penthouse, with its own bathroom and dressing room. Faye also generously installed a 120-inch TV screen just for the purpose of lying down to watch movies to relieve back pain. But since she bought the TV, she has never watched it with anyone else.

"You live alone, why did you buy such a big bed?" Yoko asked curiously as she lay on Faye's Super King size bed, which was over 2 meters wide.

"A wide bed will be comfortable."

Faye patted her leg to stop her from rolling around, then jumped into bed to lie down. Little Yoko also happily lay next to her, not seeming shy like before.

The two of them chose a foreign romance movie to watch, and discussed it while watching it. It was a classic and an award-winning movie, so they watched it and commented on the camera angles and the main actors' acting, learning from them. Only after they finished talking about the academic issues did they turn back to discuss the movie's content.

The film is about a female dancer and a musician, they love each other and are together. But as they grow up and develop in two different directions, they have conflicts and finally bless each other and then separate.

Yoko became more and more quiet as she watched the movie.

"Faye, tell me your love story." Yoko leaned on Faye's shoulder.

At first, the two of them were lying far apart, but gradually they moved closer together. Faye's arm was draped over Yoko's shoulder so they could easily watch the movie.

Hearing her question, Faye didn't turn to look at her, her eyes still following the movie.

"I have given an interview about this issue before. If you want to know, you can check it out."

"You don't want to talk about it again?" Yoko grabbed Faye's sleeve, Faye understood and let her hold her hand, she squeezed her hand lightly.

"If I tell you my story, will you tell me why someone like you has moments of insecurity?"

Faye said casually, but unexpectedly, right after she finished speaking, she suddenly felt Yoko stiffen. She stopped holding Faye's hand and fell silent. Faye was shocked by her reaction. She turned to look and saw that she was lowering her head, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

"Do you feel it too?" Yoko sighed softly, her eyes looking at the TV but not knowing where to focus.

"Let's not talk about this anymore." Faye gave up. She didn't want to accidentally upset Yoko

Yoko took a deep breath and turned to look at Faye.

"It's not that I don't want to tell you, it's just that right now I... I can't say it out loud."

"Does it affect you that much?" Faye couldn't help but say.

In contrast to Faye's reaction, Yoko laughed, her smile was very bitter: "How could it not be affected? It makes someone who has everything like me realize that I'm just like everyone else. Also mediocre, also a stupid girl. Makes me realize how vain the idea of being talented is. Makes me understand where I am, what I've had up until now is the family I gave to me, not something I myself could create." Yoko took Faye's hand, massaging each of her fingers: "I promised I wouldn't hide anything from you. I... am still in the process of adjusting myself. As soon as possible, you will be the first person I confide in."

If falling into a deep abyss can kill a person, then those who escape from that abyss are reborn and gain momentum to reach new heights. Yoko struggled to crawl out of her own abyss, covered in injuries. Yoko no longer valued those things in the past, but she still wasn't calm enough to talk about what had happened.

"Every time I talk about the past, I get so angry with myself that I can't breathe."

Faye now had a new understanding of Yoko. She was not just a young girl eight years her junior. She had her own insights, her own heartbreaking story, and her own way of healing.

"The first time I met a girl was in 11th grade. At that time, I liked a senior and pursued her a lot..." Suddenly Faye started to tell. Faye hugged Yoko from behind, rested her chin on her shoulder and said calmly: ".. Then she met me. We were together for 5 years."

Faye took a deep breath: "5 years is a long time, not too long or too short. She and I loved each other very much. At that time, we thought we could be together for life. Then after graduating, I had to perform more to earn money and make a living. Then there was a time when we had a long-distance relationship because I performed in another country. Each time we went for several months."

"I couldn't not go, because that model made money, and I really needed the money at that time. She couldn't go with me either. Couples who have been in love for a long time will inevitably have arguments about this and that, and so did we. The last year we were together... maybe it was because I changed. There was no specific reason, nor was there anyone else, maybe it was because we had grown up and our paths had diverged and we couldn't be together anymore. That time she waited for me to return home and asked to meet. She looked into my eyes and said she realized that I didn't love her like before. So she suggested we stop..."

"When I was young, I was still in pain and depravity for a long time. When I grew up, I felt that it was inevitable. Love is not endless, each person has a different limit. Both me and her, the limit of love only goes to that level. Later, I still met her again, we were still friends. She got married. She said that the person she married looked at her with the same loving eyes as I used to look at her.."

"But in the end, it wasn't your fault." Yoko turned to look straight into Faye's eyes.

"I can't love her the way I used to. I can't love her as much as she love me, that's my fault, Yo."

Faye sighed and replied

Maybe Faye knew this story by heart, that's why she could tell it so easily. Or maybe everything was over for her, Faye was mature enough to look at it more lightly.

"Then you tattooed on your body the phrase 'I promise not to go, if you promise to stay' ?"

Faye smiled and pinched Yoko's nose without answering further.

"In the future, will you be able to love someone the way you used to?" Yoko asked the last question with her head bowed. When she asked, she couldn't help but feel a little hopeful.

"Probably not."

Faye didn't know Yoko felt a little disappointed when she heard her answer, but she still asked.

"What if it was fate?"

"Does fate even care about lost people like us?" Faye laughed.

"If at some point, a signal occurs that you cannot deny is arranged by fate. At that moment, will you believe in it or not?" Yoko suddenly became stubborn, wanting to know Faye's answer at all costs.

The screen was showing the scene where the musician nodded to his ex-girlfriend and left. The movie was also coming to an end.

On the bed, Faye was leaning against the headboard, and Yoko was lying comfortably in her arms. Her cheeks were flushed as she turned to look at her, waiting for an answer.

"...No matter what, I won't let go." Faye pinched Yo's cheek and said.
