Chapter 36: To You

True to their roles as leaders, production manager Thomas and director Wan were very concerned about the entire crew. After the film finished filming, they immediately thanked each person, encouraged them, and promised a party for the entire crew to be held later.

Yoko sat down to eat cake to celebrate the end of filming with Marisa, while Faye ran off to say goodbye to each member of the crew. After a while, Thomas and Wanwan came over to chat with them both.

"Thank you very much for participating in the film. Especially Yoko, I thought I wouldn't find you at that casting." Thomas very graciously shook hands with Yoko and Marisa and laughed heartily.

Wanwan also nodded: "That last interview, but we still couldn't find you. I thought the movie would have to be postponed. Faye was also very worried."

Yoko smiled obediently: "Hi, I'm also very happy to be chosen by everyone."

"Oh, is Yoko going to that party tonight?" Wanwan suddenly remembered a certain party and asked.

Hearing that, Yoko didn't understand and Thomas shook her head: "No, Yoko didn't participate. It's just you, me and Faye."

"What party is it?" Yoko asked in surprise.

"Just a party to meet investors. I said I would invite you along, but Faye said you wouldn't like the atmosphere of those parties, haha," Thomas laughed.

When it comes to these types of parties, everyone in the entertainment industry knows about them, but it is not certain that they will be able to attend them. This time, the filming of the movie Journey has ended, and the private party for the whole crew is different, but the key figures will still have to attend this type of capitalist drinking party to chat and interact with investors and high-ranking officials of the Galaxy Group.

To put it bluntly, these were reception parties, but of course they were completely innocent and not forced, otherwise Faye would not have agreed to attend. Sometimes, actors relied on parties like these to find a way to get ahead. However, this kind of pushy and fake communication in the business, along with a party environment full of strong alcohol, expensive cigars, and male and female waiters accompanying the distinguished guests, really did not suit Yoko. And Yoko had never had to attend such parties before.

"Faye really takes care of you," Wanwan said with a smile.

"Yeah, Faye said Faye alone was enough." Thomas shrugged, actually it would be more complete if both of them went. But Yoko Apasra was an introvert, she wouldn't be comfortable coming, and Faye was also worried about her and couldn't communicate.

Then the two continued to talk about other matters and then left.

"Faye really cares about you." Marisa shook Yoko's hand and said in admiration.

"Yeah." Lost in thought, Yoko just hummed in response.

....

In a luxurious hall, the chandeliers were sparkling, the attendees were all wealthy and elite people in society. The men wore suits, tuxedos, neatly groomed and fragrant. The women wore evening gowns, high heels, gorgeous makeup and expensive jewelry. In their hands were glasses of strong liquor and smoking cigars.

This party is both a place for businessmen to gather, seek business opportunities, and make connections. It is also a place for them to bring their beautiful women just to show off, compete with each other, or to get acquainted with other rich businesswomen if they have the chance. The theme of today's party is the entertainment industry, so the beauty of the participants is very outstanding. For men, there may be no difference in appearance, but for women, the most beautiful and radiant person at this party is none other than beauty queen and actress Faye Peraya Malisorn.

A tight black evening gown, with a slit in the middle of the chest, simple but highlighting every perfect line on Faye's body. Her normally straight hair was now loose and curled in waves, creating a youthful yet luxurious feeling. On her beautiful neck was a thin but elegant necklace. Adding to her height and expensive high heels, although her makeup was the same as usual and not too elaborate, but that alone was enough for Faye's beauty. She was obviously the most outstanding person at the party, any girl standing near her felt her beauty was overshadowed.

The later the party got, the redder Faye's cheeks became from the strong alcohol. Even though she didn't smoke, inhaling too much cigarette smoke in the air made her feel drunk. Faye smiled politely and chatted so much that her facial muscles stiffened. However, this was something that could not be avoided in events like this. It had to be said that Thomas, Wanwan, and the high-ranking members of Galaxy who attended the party were all real and upright businessmen, so entertaining guests like this didn't make it difficult for Faye at all. The later the time, the more content was discussed. The opportunities for Journey in general and for Faye Yoko in particular were expanding. Even though the movie had just finished filming, many brand owners had expressed their interest in cooperation.

By the time Faye slowly walked out of the hall after finishing her business and saying goodbye to everyone at the party, it was almost 11pm. Knowing she would be late, Faye didn't ask Nhan to pick her up but booked a taxi to go home. Sitting in the taxi, looking at the late night sky and pouring rain, Faye sighed, she didn't bring a coat.

And as if to respond to Faye, not only was it raining, but the entrance to the apartment building was blocked by a fallen tree, making it impossible for cars to enter. So the taxi had to stop at a bus stop right in front of the apartment building for Faye to get off. As soon as she got off, a cold feeling immediately hit her, making Faye shiver.

This was Faye's first time standing at this bus stop, it was very bright and clean, behind her was a white background advertisement of a popular movie. Luckily it was raining, except for Faye, there was no one else waiting for the bus. Otherwise, if someone saw her, with her evening gown and appearance, she would definitely attract a lot of attention.

From this bus stop to the apartment lobby was about 100m away. It was raining heavily, so even if she wanted to rush in, with her high heels and beautiful appearance, Faye couldn't bear to get herself soaked. Even standing at this bus stop, despite the canopy, the rain still fell on Faye's body. She decided to stand with her arms crossed to keep warm and watch the rain for a while.

Suddenly a warm coat was put on her, Faye turned around to look, Yoko was smiling and holding an umbrella standing behind her since when.

"What a coincidence?" Faye Peraya asked in surprise.

"No coincidence, I've been waiting for you for a long time."

Yoko Apasra's face was covered in raindrops, but she still smiled gently and replied.

Faye held onto her coat with one hand and pulled her closer with the other, so that they could stand inside without being splashed by the rain. Yoko tilted the umbrella slightly to cover the two of them. The bus stop was very brightly lit, but the black canopy of the umbrella blocked some of the light, hiding the two beautiful girls standing under the umbrella, creating a very contrasting scene.

"Why didn't you tell me you were here? How long have you been waiting?" Faye worriedly looked at her pale face, wondering if she had been waiting for a long time, if she had gone to hide from the rain or was standing somewhere nearby.

Yoko shook her head: "I sat at a nearby cafe, then waited for you in the apartment lobby. It was raining so I took an umbrella out to wait."

Faye tried to take off her coat and give it back to her little girl, but Yoko stopped her, so Faye put her on. Then she rubbed her palms together to warm them, then pressed them against her little girl's chubby cheeks.

"You are cold too." Faye whispered, Yoko's other hand was holding Faye's wallet so she couldn't hold her hand.

The smell of alcohol on her breath and her red eyes told Yoko that Faye was still drunk. Yoko sighed, she had to end this conversation quickly.

"I came to talk to you."

Under the pouring rain, right at the bus stop, a young girl wearing a comfortable outfit of jeans and a t-shirt with a backpack on her back, she held an umbrella to shield the beautiful girl in evening dress standing opposite her. Her eyes were clear but contained more determination than ever.

Faye suddenly felt sober, she looked closely at Yoko. Yoko was still wearing the clothes she had worn when she said goodbye to the film crew this afternoon. It showed that she had not gone home but had come straight here and waited for Faye for more than 5 hours.

"Can we go upstairs?"

"No, I want to make it clear here, then I'll leave." Yoko suddenly showed her inherent stubbornness.

Raising her hand to take the umbrella and cover both of them, Faye took a step forward, hugged her and patted her head.

"Can we go to my home? I'm tired." Faye's voice was deep and gentle, carrying a hint of sweet affection.

This action made Yoko moved, she bowed her head, slightly puffed her cheeks stubbornly but still agreed with Faye.

Faye held an umbrella in one hand and put her arm around her shoulder with the other. The two of them walked through the rain into the apartment lobby. What a beautiful scene.

When they got to Faye's apartment, she had to coax and threaten Yoko a lot before she agreed to take a shower and change clothes first, then talk later. Taking some pajamas, Faye also went to another room to take a shower. When Faye finished everything and went out to the living room, she saw Yoko sitting on the sofa and making tea. On the living room TV screen, there was an video of a fire burning in the fireplace with the sound of firewood crackling. Outside, it was still raining heavily, the curtains were all pulled up to see outside clearly, the scene brought an indescribable feeling of peace.

Yoko was only wearing Faye's white shirt. Because of the difference in height, when she put on Faye's shirt, it felt very loose and she felt small. Meanwhile, Faye was wearing a comfortable yet sexy chiffon nightgown. She walked over and sat down next to Yoko.

"Have some ginger tea, sis. It helps sober up." Yoko handed Faye a blue earthenware cup. This was the cup she gave Faye last time, her was pink and Faye's was blue.

Holding a cup of hot tea in hand, warm. Both quietly watched the rain fall outside the balcony.

Then very gently, Yoko leaned on Faye's chest, and Faye also familiarly hugged her. After a long while, for some unknown reason, Yoko began to speak first:

"When I was little, my father went on business trips a lot. Because of the nature of his job, he would stay in one place for a year or two before moving to another. My mother also worked for the government, so the story of my family would usually be that my older sister would follow her. My father would take me along with him. This might also be the reason why I resemble my father more."

Yoko spoke slowly, holding Faye's hand and playing with her fingers as she spoke. Faye also remained quiet, letting her speak and indulging her.

"So when I was in school, I usually only stayed in one place for a year or two, changing schools quite a lot. It wasn't until I got to high school that I didn't want to do that anymore, so I convinced my dad to sign a paper to let me go to a summer camp. But in fact, that was the paper to go study abroad. My dad didn't want me to go anywhere. But then he took pity on me and indulged me. So I studied abroad in Australia for three years of high school."

"At that time, I thought I would do well. I didn't expect that I would miss home, and cried so much. After that, when I returned to the country, my father wanted me to study law like my sister and him. Because to him, that was the best path he could prepare for me. I disobeyed him and went to study what I liked..."

She suddenly stopped, arranged her words, and continued: "Now that I say it, I realize that my father really spoiled me. Even my family has always supported my passion for acting. My father even said that if I wanted it, he would give me everything I needed on this thorny path, paving the way for me. A person like him has never used his position to seek anything, yet he is willing to do it for me... and, I refused my father."

"Well..I didn't succeed."

"Yoo.." Faye whispered. Her mood was really down, she could hear it and she couldn't bear to listen anymore.

Yoko patted Faye's palm, indicating that she could continue speaking.

"Maybe it's because I'm lonely, maybe it's because I'm stupid, I've dated many... boys. The first one I dated when I was studying abroad cheated on me and said I was childish..."

Hearing this, Faye started to feel hot all over and frowned in pain.

"The last person I met was when I was still at the old entertainment company. We knew each other for 3 years. From the beginning, I didn't understand why my family didn't like him. They all tried to stop me, even my sister, because she couldn't persuade me, cut off contact with me for 3 years... When I went to perform, if I didn't do well, I would go home and see him, and he would say that it was because I acted badly, because I couldn't cry. When I auditioned and sang, he said that I sang very badly, when I joined a dance group, he said I couldn't dance... He did that for 3 years, using many ways to suggest or remind me that I was just a useless person."

"What?" Faye was furious. She clenched her fists. Yoko was such a talented girl, yet she was manipulated by some bastard for years. How could Faye always feel so inferior?

Yoko rubbed her body against Faye's chest, letting Faye hug her from behind, so that Faye wouldn't be so angry that she wanted to sit up anymore.

"..Faye, let me continue.."

Faye hugged her from behind to show how much she cared about her .

"I was so stupid at that time. It was like I was blinded, listening to what he said and thinking in my head that I was so useless. Gradually, I became very self-conscious... Not only that, I didn't have any friends, I wasn't allowed to interact or hang out with anyone, regardless of the same or opposite sex. It wasn't until after 3 years in that relationship, that my best friend got into trouble. She had helped me many times, but that time, no one could help her. So I insisted on going out to see her. He didn't agree to let me go out, he cursed me with very bad words... saying that if I left, we would break up. At that time, I felt very liberated. I agreed to break up, then I left..."

"What did he do to you?" Even though it was an old story, Faye was still very worried. She looked all over her little girl's body to see if there were any scars or anything.

"...He took his car and chased me so closely that he almost hit me. I was so scared that I hid in an emergency exit right there. He went in and... hit me."

When Yoko turned around, she saw Faye's eyes were red and teary. She sat up and hugged Faye's neck. Faye hugged her tightly, caressing her waist.

So heartbreaking, they both thought.

Faye adjusted her position so that Yoko sat on her lap, both facing each other and hugging each other. Yoko rubbed her head against Faye's neck, then sat up straight to look at her. She caressed Faye's beautiful face and continued to tell the story.

"When I woke up, I was in the hospital. I only remember calling my mom, and she immediately asked my sister to come over. It was funny, the first time we met after 3 years, I let my sister see me in such a state. She punched that guy and took me away, and cried a lot when she saw me like that. My family was in turmoil. I had never seen my dad so angry... After that, I... almost became depressed for a while, to the point that I had to stop studying for a year."

"What about him?" Mentioning that scum, Faye gritted her teeth and asked.

Yoko sighed: "He didn't know who my father was. After he found out, he knelt down and begged me to forgive him so that my father wouldn't pursue criminal charges... He swore that he would never dare appear in front of me or reveal any other information... I agreed."

Faye stroked her hair, this was exactly the Yoko personality she knew, she was always very kind after all.

"It's okay now."

Yoko used to be almost unable to mention this old story, but now it's not so important anymore, it's much easier for her to tell it:

"I told you I wouldn't hide anything from you. I just need time to gain some confidence. Now there's only one last secret that I haven't told you and have been hiding for so long."

Yoko sat back down next to Faye, kneeling slightly so she could look her in the eye.

"This is not something that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. It is something that gradually permeated over time and blossomed in my heart. Maybe fate arranged all of this. Because when the past events happened, I swore that I would never get involved in love again. But... I couldn't control myself. I usually never hide my feelings in my heart. But because I was worried about losing and gaining, afraid that it was just a temporary thing, I tried to ignore it..."

Faye Peraya's heart started to beat fast and panicked. Yoko's eyes were calm but filled with hidden emotions, her heart beat calmly and gently like every word she spoke. Today she had to say it all no matter what the consequences were.

"I used to think about how I should say this. Write a long letter, a short message of a few words, hold a bouquet of flowers and stand in front of the whole world and shout it out to everyone, or meet and say just the most important sentence. But then I thought about you, thought about how special you are, and you deserve the most solemn and clear things, not vague and fleeting sentences.."

"I can't just be your co-star or your little sister, Faye. Because I like you more than I like myself. I like you so much that holding back hurts me every day.."

"I like you, Faye."

Looking at the beautiful girl sitting in front of me, she used the most respectful words and manner to express how much she liked you. She walked carefully step by step as if walking on thin ice, testing each word to express her deepest thoughts. Her eyes were red with tears, her chest was heaving with her heart beating fast and hoping for Faye's answer.

Even though Yoko had already guessed the answer. But with just a faint glimmer of hope, Yoko still waited, waited and looked at Faye.

But...

"I'm sorry." Before Faye could think further, she blurted out these words. But when those three words were spoken, Faye's heart ached, ached so much.

It's Yo, it's your Yoko, why do you say that? Why?

"I'm sorry." She repeated it again. Tears started to fall like rain, Faye hugged Yoko. She wanted to tell her how much her heart ached, but she didn't know how to explain to her why her heart ached so much. Because Faye herself didn't understand what she wanted.

All she could say was sorry.

Even though she already knew the answer, Yoko still couldn't control her emotions. Faye hugged her, but her tears silently fell and wet her shirt.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't.." Don't apologize.

....

At 3am, Nam was awakened by a knock on the door. Still snoring, Nam opened the door and saw Faye standing in front of the door, her eyes red and her face haggard. Realizing that something was wrong, Nam led Faye into the apartment's living room.

Still not saying anything, Faye sat on the sofa and stared blankly.

Nam sighed, something big must have happened. She went to the bar and got a bottle of light wine and some mineral water. As soon as she saw the wine, Faye poured a glass and drank it slowly, still silent, her eyes still red.

The incident had just happened at Faye's house. She didn't know when Yoko had left, nor how she had gotten to Nam's house. Faye only knew that her heart was in so much pain, so much pain, but she couldn't tell Yoko.

Faye's refusal was so cruel. How could she open her mouth and say such empty words like asking her to stay overnight because it was late or let her take Yoko home. She couldn't say another word as she left.

Faye drank wine, tears silently falling drop by drop. Nam sitting next to her sighed.

After a long while, so long that Nam thought there would be no confession. Then Faye whispered, her voice hoarse with heartache.

"I rejected her."

"Sigh," Nam sighed, patting her friend's shoulder to comfort her. This was to be expected. Someone like Faye wouldn't easily enter into an official relationship with anyone.

"But my heart hurts so much Nam... it hurts so much..." Faye didn't cry or make a fuss, but tears kept welling up in the corners of her eyes, drop by drop:

"Why did I treat her like that? Why?"

"I'm so bad. I'm so bad.."
