Yeah, I guess, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here. Allow me to introduce myself my name is Yume Hane and this is not only the story about how I died but of how I became....

Now, you might be wondering how did a normal human being human with genius-level intelligence such as myself become....

The Goddess Of The New World....

Well, let me tell you. It all started when I was in my 3rd year of high school and I was right on track to becoming one of the most brilliant young minds that Japan would ever see but it turned out that wasn't my fate. 

My fate was decided the moment I picked up the book but it was not just any book. As the book itself was the key to my door known as my very fate.

Now before I go on about my own fate, I best explain how a book can be the key to my very own fate. The book itself wasn't merely any ordinary book but a Death Note.

A Death Note is a very powerful item that very few possess. For it allows the user to attain the  power to kill any person just by picturing their face and writing their name in that user's Death Note. 

Now the user must choose whether they're going to use the book for good or evil. I chose to use my book for good and rid the world of people that I had deemed unworthy such as thieves, rapists, murderers, bandits and everything in between off of the face of this world and for the greater of mankind as we know it.

Some say that I am a hero and other say I am a killer but to me I am neither for I am....
