CHAPTER 4
Author's Pov:
Haeun sat down beside Joshua, opening her books. "How do you understand such things?", she said flipping the pages again.
"It is easy. You don't need to do anything just read, write down or highlight the important points. It will help you. Remember the key words", Joshua said, "Let's start with the first chapter, if you don't understand anything then I'll explain it to you".
Haeun nodded, "So this is what the history class will be about?". Joshua nodded. Haeun slowly started reading the history part. As it went on, Joshua told her some historical facts which made her get more interested.
"Should I highlight the points I think are important?". Joshua nodded, "I need some books. I'll go and search for them".
"Fine till then I'll highlight the points", Haeun took her highlight, scanning the paper.
Joshua went off to search for his books. By the time he came back, Haeun had highlighted all the points she thought was important.
"So, did you do?", Joshua asked trying to peek in her book. Haeun closed it, "I-I did whatever I wanted to. You don't need to see it".
Joshua got curious, "I need to. I am tutoring you", he said snatching away her text book. As soon as he opened it, he was shocked.
Her whole text book page was covered with highlighter. "What is this? A neon explosion?", He asked. Haeun looked down, "I did nothing wrong. For me, most of the things were important. I highlighted it. I didn't realise the whole page was covered with it".
"This is not just highlighting, Haeun. This is something weird", Joshua said scrunching his nose. Haeun pouted, "I could never understand how to do this".
Joshua shook his head, taking her highlighter, "Here, mark the years, the names, the monuments, the places and things like that", he explained highlighting some points.
"Just like how you highlight formulas and important term, do something like that", he said. Haeun nodded, "For me maths is better".
Joshua looked at her, "In the same way, history is best for me". Their next hour went on without any arguments.
"Shall we start with Maths now?", Haeun asked. Joshua nodded. Haeun stood up, "Before I start let me tell you. I don't have much good explanation. I'll try my best to explain it to you". Joshua smiled.
"It's fine", he said. Haeun sat down, "Did you learn the formulas?". Joshua slowly shook his head, "Nope, I didn't get time to revise".
Haeun smiled, "Good, now your punishment is that you are going to write all the formulas once on a whole page". Joshua frowned, "That's not needed".
"Listen to me, Mr. Gentleman, you need it", Haeun said closing her books. Joshua sighed, "Do I really need to?". Haeun nodded.
He took his pen and started to write the formulas one by one. Haeun looked at him. "Your side profile looks good", she whispered which Joshua heard. He stopped writing, "Thanks".
Haeun looked aside and continued reading History marking the important points. Joshua glanced at her and smiled, "For first time we stayed together without fighting".
Haeun looked at him, "Really? Woah, I didn't even realise that". Joshua started writing again, "What is this formula called?". Haeun looked over, "It's Quadratic formula".
"What is this used for?", Joshua asked. Haeun looked taken aback, "It is used to find the roots of Quadratic equation". Joshua nodded, "Good. Now I can trust you with maths".
Haeun rolled her eyes, "You were the one who begged me to teach maths, I wasn't the one who knelt down". Joshua leaned forward, "I wouldn't have done that but I had my reasons other wise who will like to kneel for you".
Haeun squinted her eyes and said, "There will one who will who will kneel infront of me with a ring and rose". Joshua chuckled, "Being in delusion is not good".
"No one is staying in delusion except you, Mr. Not so Gentleman. There will be time when you will be on your knees for a girl whom you love the most, mark my words", Haeun said.
Joshua shook his head, "If you are thinking that guy is Seungcheol then-". Haeun slapped his hand.
"Hey guys" Seungcheol was standing behind Joshua. "H-hey, why are you back?", Joshua stuttered. Seungcheol chuckled, "Why are you stuttering?".
Joshua shook his head, "Nope, nothing". Seungcheol sat in front of them, "I was bored so I came back. How was your session going?".
"It was nice until someone decided to be delusional", Joshua said looking at Haeun. "Yeah, it was nice until someone decided to test my maths skill", she said glaring at Joshua.
"What are you guys even talking about? Who is that someone?", Haeun and Joshua pointed at eachother,
"Her"
"Him"
Haeun slapped his hand, "You were the one who started it". Joshua slapped her hand back, "Look who is talking. This time it was definitely you who started to fight".
"I didn't. It was you", Hauen glared at him. Joshua mimicked her causing her to get more angry. Seungcheol sat there seeing them fight, "Guys, let's not fight".
"Shut up", they shouted at each other.
"Keep quiet or go out from here. You need to be quiet here. This is library and not your house. Go and fight in your home", the librarian said glaring at them. Seungcheol apologised instead of them.
Haeun glared at him before settling down. "Now write all the formulas twice", Haeun said. Joshua shook his head, "I am not writing".
Haeun stood up, "Fine then, learn maths from someone else, I am leaving. Bye guys". Haeun left.
"Now what?", Seungcheol asked. Joshua shook his head, "I am apologising to her. She the only person I can trust with maths".
Joshua stood up, packing his bag, "I'll leave. Bye". Seungcheol nodded, "Don't fight again". Joshua smiled, "Let's see".
Joshua ran behind Haeun but it was already late, she had taken the bus. "Aish", Joshua whispered. He ran to his bike.
He was about to follow her but stopped as he got a call, it was his mother. He sighed picking up the call, "I am coming, give me few minutes". He looked at the bus which disappeared from his sight, "I'll talk to her later".
As Haeun reached her house, she straight away went to Soonyoung's room. He smiled seeing her, "How was today's session?".
Haeun shook her head telling him everything, "At the end, I told him that I am not going to teach him anymore and find someone else".
Soonyoung shook his head, "Why do you guys fight so much?". Haeun shrugged, "I have told you before, we are totally different. We can never get along".
"I just came to tell you this. I am going to my room", Haeun stood up, "If he comes back don't let him in my room". Haeun took some snacks kept on his table, "Thank you for this".
Soonyoung grumbled, "It was for me". Haeun squished his cheeks, "It was for both of us, Soonyoung-ie".
"Study well brother", she patted his head. Haeun went to her room looking at herself in the mirror. "Am I getting fat?", she swirled around, "Nope. I am not".
After freshening up, Haeun went and sat beside her mother, "Do you need some help?". Her mother shook her head, "Go and study. I don't want you to get less marks like this time".
"Can I go to Yerin's house?", Haeun asked. Her mother shook her head, "Go and study Haeun. Next time I want see all A's in you report card. Your finals are coming soon. Go and study. You are not going out from now. The only places you are going is School and then coming back home".
Haeun gave a small smile nodding her head, she went to her room. "I am bored of this", she whispered looking out of window.
She smirked as an idea popped in her mind. She went to Soonyoung's room. "What do you want now?", he asked. "I am sneaking out", Haeun said.
"Who's gonna help you?", he asked. Haeun pointed at him, "You". He groaned, "Go and study. If you sneak out then I am going to tell Eomma".
Haeun shook her head, "Don't you feel bore reading the same thing again and again? Like it is not going to change if you don't read it once".
Soonyoung shook his head, "I am not helping you this time. Last time I struggled a lot but not this time". Haeun whined, "Please. You can escape from studies by saying that you have a practice and they will leave you. What about me? Eomma said that I am not going out from now. From school and home".
Soonyoung sighed, "I don't know. But sneaking out, nahhh. I almost got problem last time, I don't want to face the same thing now".
Haeun slept on his bed, "I am not going back to my room. It feels boring there". Soonyoung continued his studying. "What are reading?", she asked. "History".
"Don't you get bored reading it. I don't know but before I complete two pages, I fell sleepy. Either the book closes or my eyes".
Soonyoung looked at her, "Will you let me study?". Haeun shook her head, "Nope". Soonyoung sighed, "Do whatever you want now except sneaking out. I won't stop you". Haeun hugged him, "Thank you".
"I am playing songs", Haeun said taking out her phone. "My headphones are there, you can use that", he said. Haeun smirked, "Who said I am using one?". She played music with full volume.
"HAEUN", he shouted. "Let's just dance, Soonyoung", Haeun said. He shook his head but soon he too started dancing with her.
