Chapter 11: Future's Past

Elliot has been avoiding her friends as much as she possibly could the past week, only talking to them for school. But, of course, she had to meet with Scott after school if she wanted to finish their science project.

She was lost in her thoughts, sitting with her legs crossed on her bed. She was so out of her head she jumped when her aunt knocked on the door, not noticing her walk in. Yes, her aunt, uncles and father were now living with her. It seemed easier and more convenient than having them stay at some grubby hotel.

"A penny for your thoughts?" Will asked as she crossed her arms over her chest, leaning against the doorway. She could tell her niece was troubled and had an idea of what about, but she wanted Elliot to admit it on her own. Elliot sighed.

"Scott will be here any minute," Elliot voiced, her tone on edge and kind of nervous. Will gave her a look, walking into the room and sitting across from her niece, crossing her legs and taking Elliot's hands in hers.

"Talk to me," she smiled comfortingly. Elliot couldn't help but smile. Her aunt always seemed to get her, more than what she remembered her mother could. Her mother and father were so much alike in the way of not wanting to get to close, where as her Uncle Sam and Aunt Will were very compassionate and were always there for her.

"I just don't understand how I'm supposed to go about this. We have more important things to go about and my biggest worry is that I'm an alpha's mate?" Elliot looked down at her lap, "What's wrong with me?" she groaned in annoyance, pulling her hands from her aunt and tugging at her hair. Will sighed.

"Nothing is wrong with you, sweetheart. I know this is hard to understand, but it will all fall into place soon enough. You just have to give it time."

Elliot still didn't looked convinced. Will decided to try a different approach, though she wasn't going to tell her niece what it was.

"Did I tell you about how I met your uncle?" she asked. Elliot looked up at her aunt and nodded.

"Yeah. You guys met working the same case." Will shook her head.

"That's when I met your parents. I met your uncle a few months prior, a couple states over at a bar."

Elliot scrunched her face in confusion, "You just met him randomly at a bar then coincidentally meet him again on the same case a few months later? That doesn't happen. Not to us."

Will smiled, "Exactly. It was the bond that pulled me to work that case. It was a small one, hardly relevant and with nothing to go on, but I kept thinking I just had to go to it."

Elliot sighed, "What does this have to do with Scott?"

Will gave her a look, "What I'm getting at it, the sooner you accept your feelings for Scott, the sooner this bond will be on you."

Elliot's eyes widened as she blushed furiously, scoffing, "Excuse me?!"

Will smiled as she got up from the bed, walking to the door.

"By the way, Scott had been here for the last five minutes downstairs with your father. He'll be joining us for dinner."

With that, Will left her shocked niece in her room, heading back to her husband who was in their room reading a book.

Sam looked opver the book and smiled, setting it down on the small table beside the chair he was in.

"So? How'd it go?" Sam asked as Will walked over and sat on his lap, straddling his hips and cuddling into his neck.

"I think when Dean's done with the boy, they'll be ready for the journey they'll have to take."

Sam sighed as he wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on top of her head, "Are you sure this is safe?"

Will nodded, "They need to understand that compared to what we had to do, this is infant's play."

Sam chuckled, kissing the top of her head, "You're probably right."

"I'm always right," Will smiled. Sam scoffed.

"Oh, shut up."

"You love me."

Sam smiled down at her and kissed her deeply on the lips.

"I do," he murmured, before he lifted her up and walked her over to the bed, dropping her, causing Will to giggle.

Scott squirmed under Dean's gaze as he sat on the green sofa, his motorcycle helmet set on the coffee table in front of him. Dean sat across from him in a purple chair, giving him his dark, investigation look.

"Give me one good reason why I should take the gun pout of my belt and shoot you to Canada," Dean threatened. Scott gulped, smiling nervously.

"I don't have one. I'm lucky you let me through the door," Scott tried. Dean hummed, nodding his head as Cas walked in.

"Good answer," Dean stated, before he stood and walked past the angel, "Don't let him out of your sight."

Cas sighed as he looked at the wolf, "Ignore him. It's been a while since he could be that way for Elliot."

Scott nodded, "I understand."

Cas pointed to the staircase, "Go ahead. I'm sure Elliot is waiting for you."

Scott nodded before quickly grabbing his stuff and rushing up the stairs, trying to get away from the green-eyed hunter's wrath of laser vision.

Cas then walked into the kitchen where Dean was at the stove, putting some crushed rabbit bone into a pot that was boiling.

"Almost done?" he asked. Dean nodded, sighing.

"I kind of don't want to send her back. I mean, with him."

Cas smiled, "She'll be okay. She needs to understand this. They both do. And what better people to do it then the chosen ones them selves?"

Dean sighed, nodding, "You're right."

Elliot ignored Scott's gaze as he watched her finish the final writing on the poster.

"Would you pass me the paintbrush, please?" she asked him, not taking her eyes off of her work. Scott didn't hear her, however, too busy staring at her behind, "Scott?"

Scott flushed red as he cleared his throat awkwardly, avoiding her gaze as he stood up, walking over to her desk, "Uh, y-yeah, sure."

He walked over picking one up, turning to hand it to her but jumped when he bumped right into her, sending them both tumbling to the ground with Elliot landing on top of him. They both blushed profoundly as Scott's hands landed on her waist.

But as they looked into each other eyes, they couldn't help but get lost in them as their eyes flashed a dull red, meaning their mates were taking control. They slowly began to lean in, their lips brushing lightly against one another, as they were about to-

"Ahem!"

They both jumped and looked towards the doorway, where Dean and Sam stood, glaring at the two teens.

"If you two are done," Dean pointed his glare to the boy, "Dinner is just about ready."

They both nodded as Elliot climbed off of Scott and the two stood up, blushing and embarrassed. The two brothers continued to glare at the boy.

"Oh, go easy on him," Will gave a pointed look to the brothers as she walked in, "It's not like you haven't caught your brother in worse situations."

Dean suddenly shuddered as many memories surfaced in his mind. He sighed, nodding before he turned and walked off. But not before muttering under his breath, "My poor baby."

Will chuckled as she turned to the two teens and nodded her head to the hall, "Come on, it's spaghetti night."

Sam followed his wife down the hall as the two teens looked at each other awkwardly, before following.

The couple, Dean and the two teens all sat at the dining table eating their dinner in an awkward silence. Will wasn't having that, however.

"So, Scott," she started, "You are a lacrosse player?"

The wolf looked up and nodded nervously, "Yes. I'm actually the captain of the team."

Dean scoffs, "Arrogant," he mutters as he takes a sip of his beer. Will glares at the man, causing him to shrink back into his seat quietly.

"Are you now?" Will smiled as she turned to the wolf, "You might be a fine hunter with those skills."

Dean chuckled lightly under his breath, Will glared at him again, "Is there something wrong?"

Dean raised a brow, "This kid a hunter? Yeah right, he can barely handle being an alpha, having to deal with other ones stronger? Okay, I'll pay twenty bucks to see it."

Will glared at Dean, making her eyes glow her vibrant blue, before he finally decided to shut up.

"So, Scott," Sam cleared his throat to change the subject, "How is it you are an alpha?"

Scott found it awkward to answer, "Well, um, my druid Deaton told me I was a True Alpha, since I didn't have to take the power."

Will smiled, "A nice boy, isn't that a change," she chuckled, causing Elliot to roll her eyes, "You needed a nice one."

"Like Uncle Sam?" Elliot smirked. Will returned the gesture.

"I don't think you know how bad your uncle actually is," she chuckled as Elliot and Dean shuddered in disgust, Sam looking flustered, and Scott sitting awkwardly.

"How is it that you came back, Aunt Willow? You died with my mom, silver to the heart."

Sam turned to his wide, "I'd like to know, too, actually."

Will sighed, "I didn't die, merely left your world. It was my time to start my work as my former self, and help new wolves and keep the peace in the night. I was actually the one who decided Scott's fate, as well as his friend Isaac and Liam's. They seemed like a perfect fit for it."

Scott's eyes widened, "What?"

Will nodded.

"It was time for a True Alpha to be born. You seemed like the perfect person for that roll."

Scott sunk back into his seat, letting it all sink in.

"Anyway," Will smiled, taking her glass in her hand, "Why don't we make a toast? To new relationships and beginnings."

They all did so and took a drink, the three hunters watching the two teens carefully.

As they both placed their glass down, they began to suddenly feel drowsy, the world spinning before their eyes.

"What-What's going on?" Elliot questioned, before her eyes closed and she fell asleep against Scott, who also fought sleep, but was overcame by it as well.

Will looked at both of them in sympathy, before Sam and Dean picked the two up and walked them into the living room, setting them both on the sofa.

"Are you sure this will work?" Dean asked his sister in law as she sat on the coffee table in front of them.

"It will. They just need to understand this," she stated before she rubbed her hands together and took each of their hands in hers, before she closed her eyes, entering their minds.

***

Scott woke up to bright, blinking lights, squeezing them tightly as he sat up. As he opened them and looked around, he saw Elliot standing next to him and staring off. He stood up and looked around. They seemed to be in some kind of club.

"Where are we?" he asked the girl. She just continued to stare off at the bar. He looked at her confused, "What?"

"That's my aunt," she stated barely above a whisper. Scott furrowed his brows, turning to see exactly what she was seeing, his eyes widening.

It was, in fact, Willow. She seemed to be a few years younger and wearing dark, daring clothing as she walked to the bar.

"What's going on?" Elliot whispered to herself as she followed her aunt.

"Aunt Willow?" she called out, but the raven haired woman didn't hear her as she smiled at the bartender.

"Can I get a water?" she asked. The bartender gave her what she asked for with a smile, "Thanks."

"Aunt Willow!" Elliot shouted at her aunt, going to hit her arm, but it just went through her like mist, "What?"

Willow turned and wasn't paying attention to where she was going, and ended bumping into a very tall man, spilling the water all over her shirt.

"Oh, I am so sorry," he apologizes quickly, the two teens looking up at the voice. They both gasped. It was Sam, but very much younger.

"Is that..."

"My uncle? Yeah."

Will laughed as she looked up at him, "No, it's my fault. I should have been watching where I was going."

He laughed back, helping her up, "No, it's my fault. At least let me buy you a drink to make up for it."

Elliot saw that her aunt was going to deny, but one look into her uncle's eyes and she couldn't help but give in with a smile, "One drink can't hurt."

Elliot and Scott watched as they walked off in shock, before turning to each other.

"What was that?" Scott asked. Elliot cursed, making Scott look at her confused, "What?"

"It's my aunt. She must have put something into our drinks to show us her memories."

"But why?" Scott asked. Elliot sighed.

"I don't know. But she won't let us out until we figure it out."
