"A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path."

~Agatha Christie

When Willow found out she was pregnant, one feeling alone came to her first. Love. After that was she hit with panic and sadness and guilt. She never wanted to get pregnant while she was hunting, that just wasn't the life she wanted for them. Not because she thought they couldn't handle it, after all, the child would be a Winchester. But because she didn't want them to be lost in this life. She didn't want to see their innocence lost just as hers was when she first shifted. But she knew it would be inevitable.

But she still tried.

She never brought her daughter on a hunt, not once. Her daughter only lived in the bunker with her friend Bonnie Bennett to babysit. She rarely went on hunts with her husband and brother-in-law after Elliot was born, but she still yearned to be in the field. Plus, the world never seemed to give breaks to the three Winchesters.

The day she was stabbed with silver by Metatron, one feeling alone hit her fist. Regret. Regret for not staying with her daughter, regret that she wouldn't be able to see her grow. Regret that she wouldn't see her daughter go to school, have pie contests with Dean until she got sick, buy a puppy and convince her Uncle Dean to keep it with those big, chocolate eyes she received from her father. When she died, and it was rumored she was captured in Hell, Sam wasted no time in trying to find his soulmate.

But he didn't realize he had been searching for almost four years. To him, while traveling in purgatory and Hell, time stood still. He never found his wife, and it was then, that Castiel had pulled him out.

Willow's mother always told her a small poem when she was younger, when Will would ask what was the tugging feeling she felt when looking at her mother. Lily always smiled before reciting:

"Mothers and daughters- they always share a special bond- though near or far apart- the words that would describe it- are written on the heart."

Willow never understood what that meant until she got pregnant. When she realized she had gotten what she had longed for in all her 150 years of wandering. She realized, that a mother's love begins before the child is born, and lasts through time, difficulties, differences, many wounds and days of sorrow. But also through days of joy, winding, wearing, weeping, sharing, changing. Until, at the end, what remains is that solid core that began as love before the child was born.

So when she returned to hear her daughter call her Aunt Willow, her heart smashes into dust.

After an explanation from her husband and brother-in-law, she slapped Dean, then cried, then yelled, cried, yelled, repeat. But she played the part. After all, how could she change the mindset her daughter had for the past sixteen years?

Elliot Winchester believed her mother was Midnight Gilbert, who conveniently was also a werewolf, who died just a few years after Willow had protecting the small four year old.

It was that same heartache that Willow felt now, sitting next to her daughter as she held her hand, watching as she slept on the couch. Elliot's first shift would be the hardest, and not knowing where she through the necklace that Dean had spelled to hold her powers, it wouldn't be the last.

Sam stood in the doorway watching his wife and daughter, not knowing what to do. When he had gotten back, he had been told two years had passed since he went searching for his wife, and to see that his daughter was now calling his brother papa instead of himself. He felt as his heart shattered into pieces. He regretted leaving his daughter, he regretted wasting years of his life searching for something that wouldn't come back for a long time.

He regretted having to tell Willow that they lost their only child.

He blamed himself for what had happened. What it would've been like if he stayed, raised her, told her stories of her mother as Elliot knew it was her mother. He hated how the woman he considered a sister had died trying to get him back, get him back to his daughter, only to have her be Dean's now.

And Dean did love her like a daughter, but Elliot always knew in her heart that something was wrong. That's why her and Dean never really got along, her and Sam always had more of a father-daughter relationship, though she never knew why.

Until now.

Everyone was sitting around waiting for her to wake up. They all knew they had a new problem now. Elliot's powers had awakened. Now Crowley would be hunting her and awaiting to capture her.

Allison was the first to speak, "When will she wake up?"

Peter was the one to answer, "A normal werewolf after their first shift would wake in a couple hours. But seeing as she isn't from a normal bloodline, I'd say almost half a day."

Stiles' eyes widened, "But it's already been a couple hours!"

Peter rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest, "Then you do the math, smart one."

Dean stood next to Argent, shaking his head, "I knew when I saw her with Scott that we should've told her. We were so busy trying to hide the fact that they were mates, we didn't think of what was more important." (Don't remember? Go to Daddy Dearest)

Willow continued to stare at her daughter, stroking hair out of her sleeping face.

"The Yukimura's won't help in the fight against Crowley, seeing as they hate your guts," Derek stated looking at Will, "But maybe we could call the Salvatores, possibly the Mikaelsons?"

Will scoffed, "My brothers, sure. But the Mikaelsons? They'd rather see us dead for what happened to Mid."

"Well, we obviously need all the help we can get," Lydia stepped up, "The least we can do is call."

All the adults in the room glanced at each other, before sighing.

"If it's to protect Elliot, I'd die to see her grow old and happy," Sam stated strongly, walking up to his wife and laying a hand on her shoulder.

Will smirked, "You know I'd tear out the throats of anyone who'd hurt my baby."

Derek gave a shrug, "You were always a good friend, Will. Of course we'll help."

"You're important to us, we'll help," Allison smiled.

"And she's our friend, we're helping too," Lydia smiled, Stiles and Liam nodding in agreement.

Will nodded, before noticing someone was missing, "Where's Scott?"

Dean nodded his head towards the backyard, "He walked out about half an hour ago."

Allison stood up, "I'll go talk to him."

Sam stopped her, "You know, let me talk to him."

Allison looked at the older man confused, but nodded, letting him pass. As he left, everyone turned their attention to the girl still sleeping.

Sam walked out into the backyard to see Scott sitting on the edge of the patio, his hands looped around his legs that were pulled up to his chest, looking up at the full moon. Sam sighed, walking over and sitting next to him, doing the same.

"What are you thinking?" Sam asked, not looking away from the moon. Scott shrugged.

"I honestly don't know. I know she'll be okay after the shift, but with what's going on right now with Crowley and you guys? She's gonna feel shitty for a while."

Sam chuckled at his bluntness, Scott looking over at him in panic.

"I-I meant no offense at all, sir-" Sam shook his head.

"Calm down, it's fine. You were being honest."

Scott calmed down a bit.

"You know, when Will told me she was gonna have her, all I could feel was happiness. And a bit of pride, but I think that was from the mate bond."

Scott laughed, "Yeah... To be honest, whenever she does something great or looks like she walked out of heaven, that's all I can feel."

Sam nodded, "That's your wolf calling to hers. It feels great to "own" something as great as your mate. I remember when Will told me, everything made sense. I didn't even need to be convinced, I knew that just was it."

Scott looked at his feet guilty, "We needed a bit of convincing."

Sam laughed, clapping Scott's back, "Well, of course, you're just kids. Plus, you two are not the legendary mates prophecized for centuries."

Scott's eyes widened, "What?!"

Sam shook his head, "Don't get me started."

It was silent for a moment, before Sam spoke up.

"Your path with Elliot will not be an easy one. But unlike Willow and I, you have many people who will back you up and support you. Us? All we had was each other, but we made it. I know you will, too."

Scott sighed, "I guess I just feel ashamed I couldn't help her tonight. I was helpless."

Sam shook his head, "That's not true, if you weren't there, we'd barely be getting Elliot home now. You don't know how much it helps with just the presence of your mate."

"It can do that?"

"That and more," Sam chuckled, standing up with a groan, "Man, I'm getting old. Now, let's head inside. Elliot won't be waking up for a while and everyone needs rest."

Scott chuckled as she stood up, "Yeah, sure. Thanks, Sam."

Sam smiled, "Anytime. You can pay me back by doing right by my baby girl."

Scott nodded, "I promise."
