Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Brooklyn
Sam and I stood in the dark cell, lightening flashing and thunder booming around us. Lucifer, even in the darkness, was as clear as day, making my skin crawl.
I stood tall, trying to hide my fear. "Whatever this is, Lucifer, we're not playing this game."
"Oh, why not? You always liked my games. You were even good at some of them. Like, Simon Says," Lucifer smirked.
At those words, my face dropped in fear and my heart began to race.
Sam stepped forward and a little in front of me, hopping to grab Lucifer's attention. "Okay, enough-" but it was no use. Lucifer already had a plan and before Sam could finish his sentence, Lucifer was already commanding.
"Simon Says, pain."
His words echoed in my ears and I felt my head throb in a roaring pain that would make a hangover look like a chocolate Sunday. My stomach turned at the pain and I couldn't help but fall to my knees, holding my head as a cry left my lips.
I felt Sam next to me, his words distant and seeming to make the pain worse, "Stop it! Stop it now!"
The pain in my body grows and I'm sure I'm going to be sick.
"Stop! I'm not talking until you stop," Sam yelled!
"Ah, fine," Lucifer rolled his eyes before snapping his fingers.
The pain suddenly disappears, yet the echo of it still lingers and I feel dizzy. Suddenly, I kneel over and feel my stomach empty, helping my dizziness a bit. I lean back against the cage bars, trying to catch my breath as I look at Lucifer who is smiling proudly.
"Impressive, right?"
Oh, what I wouldn't give to throw a metal chair at him right now.
Sam glares at Lucifer who shrugs and crosses his arms, as if it was just a casual day.
Sighing, Sam asked, "What about Rowena?"
"Did as she was told. Groupies... they're always so eager."
"So you did all of that just to... to what... jump my bones?"
"Literally," Lucifer smiled.
Shaking his head, Sam said, "Well, you wasted your time then. You see I know how this ends. You'll taunt me and you'll threaten Brooke, and I'll say no. And eventually, sooner than you think, my brother's gonna walk through that door and kick your ass for what you've done."
Lucifer spits out into a laughter, looking at Sam like he's crazy, "Dean? You're betting on Dean?"
"Always," I said, making Lucifer look at me. I grabbed the bars of the cage, pulling myself up as I spoke, "Your first mistake was bringing Sam into this cage. Your second, and probable more stupid, was bringing me here."
Smiling, Lucifer put his hands up, "What can I say? I missed you."
I took a step towards Lucifer but Sam stopped me and turned back to the devil. "You're not going to get what you want."
"Oh Sam. You got me all wrong."
Sam scuffed, "Ha, I doubt that."
"No. No. I'm not here to taunt you, or torture Brooklyn. I mean I could. Simon Says-"
"Enough," Sam ordered, making Lucifer stop.
"Sam, I'm not going to harm a glorious little hair on that glorious little head of yours. But, I can't make the same assurance for our girl over there." Lucifer leans over, looking past Sam and smiles as he waves at me.
I growled at him from behind Sam.
Sam took a step towards Lucifer, "What do you want me to say?"
"A little word that starts with Y, ends in E-S."
I can't believe it when Sam goes silent, seeming to actually debate this. He then turns to me, which I'm grateful for, and quickly shake my head. "Like Hell you will."
Sam turned back to Lucifer who you could tell was getting a little annoyed. "Okay, you don't like me. I get it... I get it; sometimes I don't like me either. But Gabriel and Raphael are dead. God went out for a pack of smokes and never came back. And Michael... well, let's just say prison life hasn't really agreed with Michael. These days he's usually sitting in a corner singing show tunes and touching himself."
"So you're it?" Sam asked?
Lucifer shrugged, nodding, "I'm it! And hey, I'm not the good guy, we both know I'm not, but the Darkness, she's the end of everything. But I can beat her. We can beat her. You and me, together. So come on, Sam. Make the right choice, the big sacrifice one more time, man. Sam, it's time to save the world."
At his words, I find a new sense of confidence which I can only thank Dean for.
I quickly grab Sam's arm pushing him back behind me as I walked towards Lucifer, causing him to step back. "No, you can't. You may have been the strongest thing out there once before, but your nothing now. Your old, Lucifer. Your magic touch is lost and you've lost your spunk. You've been in a cage for so long, that you don't even remember what it's like to destroy, to torture. And that is why Sam will never let you in, and that is why I'm not afraid of you. Because at the end of the day, you and I both know you can't stop Amara, not alone, and not at all."
My heart is racing and I'm sure I never took a breath throughout my words, but boy did it feel good.
Lucifer smirks down at me as he folds his hands behind his back, "I've missed that fire. But, it's not your choice." He looks past me at Sam.
Sam crosses his arms and nods towards me, "What she said. No."
I watch Lucifer as he rolls his eyes and unfolds his hands. "Okay, plan B it is." He suddenly grabs me and throws me roughly into the bars of the cage. My body collides with it hard before falling to the ground. Before I can even catch a breath, Lucifer kicks my face then stomach with such force, I'm sure my ribs are broken. A cry leaves my lips as the pain surges through me.
Blood trickles from my nose into my mouth and the taste of metal makes me spit. I faintly catch Sam being punched a couple of times by Lucifer before being thrown into the bars as well.
"Hey, ass-butt!" I hear a voice yell and I see Dean and Cas running up to the cage.
"Dean," I mumble, my vison fading at times.
Lucifer turns to the two and smiles, "Dean, finally, and, ah, the other one." He snaps his fingers and they both appear in the cell. "Welcome to the party!"
I must have blacked out for a minute, because when I came back I saw Cas fighting Lucifer while Dean was helping me sit up. "Hey, you're okay. I'm going to get you out of here."
Castiel falls to the ground and Lucifer stands over him, putting his foot on top of Castiel's neck. There is a blinding flash of light in the cell that causes me to close my eyes again. When I open them, the light has faded and Lucifer is gone.
A sigh of relief leaves my lips and I lean my head on Dean for a moment while I compose myself.
Dean helps Sam and me up while Cas opens the cage and we all limp our way towards Rowena and Crowley. Rowena has a leash like thing around her neck, controlled by Crowley.
Rowena smirked, "You're welcome."
"Bite me!" Yelled Dean, keeping an arm around me.
"I can make her do that," Crowley said, making us all glare at him.
Sam spoke up, "So what now?"
"About the Darkness? No clue," Crowley shrugged, not seeming to really care.
Dean look at his brother, "We'll figure it out."
"Or die screaming," Rowena added.
Crowley rolled his eyes, "This has been a horrible train wreck, so we're done. Team up over."
I nodded over to Rowena, "What about her?" I'd happily take her and punch her a few times instead of Lucifer.
Looking at his mother for a moment, Crowley says, "She stays. The rest of you lot... get the hell out of Hell."
I scuffed, "Don't have to tell me twice." With that, we all left, piling into the Impala before waving goodbye to Cas who was off to who knows where again.
As we walked into the Bunker, a freeing sensation filled me, yet the pain in my stomach was still enough for me to grow irritated.
"I need a beer, and three days sleep," Sam spoke up.
"Sam," Dean agreed.
I ignored the boys and walked off to my bedroom. Pushing open the door, I hissed slightly as I slipped off my jacket. Grabbing some Alieve, I took a couple before sitting on my bed. Cautiously, almost afraid to look, I pull up my shirt and look down.
Yup, defiantly broke some ribs.
Luckily, this wasn't the first time, but it still hurt like a son of a bitch.
At first, I didn't even notice Dean, but as I lowered my shirt and looked up, I caught Dean's eyes. He looked so sad, so disappointed. Not in me, but in himself.
"Dean-"
"I'm so sorry, I promised you that you would never have to go back there and-"
"Dean-" I started, standing up, but he wouldn't let me finish.
"And then not only were you in Hell but you were in the cage with Lucifer-"
"Dean Winchester!" I yelled, making Dean go silent and look at me. I smile and took a step towards him, "I'm alive, because of you. I stood up to the Devil himself, because of you. I'm not mad, I'm just... sore," I shrugged.
Taking one of my hands and rubbing it soothingly, Dean said, "And your forever a badass for doing that, I just wished you didn't have too."
I agreed, but it happened, and because it happened I felt more free than ever before. I stood up to the Devil, to Lucifer, the man who scared me more than anyone. If it wasn't for the confidence that Dean had, magneting itself to me when I needed it, I would have been in the corner like a scared puppy. Instead, I was a wolf.
"Well, there is a few things that I wish for," I said, smirking a little as I grabbed Dean's belt and pulled him closer towards me.
He looked down, surprised and asked, "Really?"
"Just go easy," I mumbled against his lips before kissing him, causing him to kiss me back.
Hope you enjoyed Brooke's POV. The next one will leave pick up where it left off in Chapter 20 but in Dean's POV. There is a really cute moment that I'm excited for you guys to see!
