Chapter 7: The Horrors Continue to Strike.
Back to the dire situations happening during this final exam. The sky was getting darker, and the moon was rising higher and higher. Along with it, the twinkling stars gradually appeared, shining down upon the entire forest. Accompanying all this was the constant howling of wolves echoing through this dark forest. Even more chilling were the ghosts wandering around—some lurking behind tree trunks, revealing faint and weak glows from their bodies. They would sometimes disappear, sometimes reappear, watching those moving around in this area. It looked very creepy, especially for those who were alone here—the fear would double, just like for this boy Somchai.
He constantly felt a chill and uneasiness with every step. His mind couldn't stop imagining all the terrible things that could happen to him at any moment.
"I don't know why my heart's been racing this whole time? Even though ever since the test started until now, I haven't encountered anything at all. Oh my God! At this rate, I'm afraid... I won't even make it to the end of the exam before dying of anxiety first."
After walking a bit further, he sensed that something was wrong. So he quickly stopped on a branch high up and quietly observed. Turned out, right in front of him was a deep pit, and something terrifying was lurking at the bottom of it.
Somchai: "Wait! I think I just sensed something... it feels really excited, like it's just waiting for someone to walk by so it can... devour them instantly! Oh well, for now I'll just stay here and observe a bit longer to see what I should do next, then I'll..."
Suddenly, a gust of wind swept right past Somchai in a flash. He jumped in shock and turned to see Barbara rushing straight ahead without a hint of hesitation. Startled, he quickly tried to warn her:
– Hey! It's dangerous, stop...
But before he could even finish his sentence, she had already flown right over the deadly pit, leaving Somchai speechless and shaking his head, thinking Barbara was done for.
But no—just as the monsters in the pit emerged, ready to snatch Barbara, she had already taken care of all of them in a split second. With just one slash, she defeated them all, leaving Somchai in awe and admiration:
– So the rumors about this girl Barbara were true after all! She really is strong.
As for our other two close friends—Keyla and Cẩm Đan—they also seemed pretty relaxed, just like Katharina's group. They were floating leisurely in the sky. The reason they chose to fly rather than walk like others was because… flying high up would help them avoid dangers more easily than being on the ground. However, this method wasn't exactly ideal, because flying like that consumed a lot more energy and drained them faster than walking. Luckily, after flying for a while, they discovered a very suitable place to spend the night, which made both of them extremely happy.
– Cẩm Đan: Hey! Keyla...
– Keyla: I know already! Let's land over there quickly.
– Cẩm Đan: Yeah!
After that, they both quickly descended to the place they mentioned. Keyla and Cẩm Đan gently landed. In front of them was a cave—not too big, not too small. It was quite dark inside, but they didn't complain. After all, finding a safe place to stay the night in such a remote and wild forest like this was pretty amazing, wasn't it? So they had nothing to complain about.
– Cẩm Đan: Haizzz! This place is a bit dark, but not too bad actually!
– Keyla: Pffft! Of course it's fine. I was the one who found this place with my own eyes, no need to argue about that. Haha!
However, their loud talking and laughter woke something up inside the cave. It got angry from being disturbed and opened its blade-sharp eyes, exhaling a strong breath from its nostrils, making the whole cave even colder than before.
This startled both Cẩm Đan and Keyla, sending chills down their spines. They turned around to see what was behind them.
But perhaps it was too dark—they couldn't see a thing. The only thing they could make out was its blood-red eye filled with murderous intent, staring straight at them as if it wanted to devour them alive. This caused both of them to panic, unsure of what was going on.
– Cẩm Đan: Huh? What's going on?
– Keyla: I...I don't know either.
Their voices were trembling, full of hesitation. They were sweating bullets. Seeing them like that, it raised its head and let out a terrifying roar that echoed through the entire cave, shaking it violently like it was about to collapse—causing Keyla and Cẩm Đan to panic so much that they didn't even know what to do.
