before it clicks in your heads
that being selfish is something all human beings are burdened with?

i can't help it
even as i tell myself i shouldn't

but imagine life without

a hitch?
and i know all families have their own problems but
i can't help thinking
as i sit outside by the water fountain at nine
listening to selfish complaints about selfish people and selfish love
that maybe, in some selfish universe,

we would all be going on vacation.
