"Please." Ellana begged, her wide brown eyes brimming with tears. Arya felt her heart break as her sister's eyes implored her to stay. But no. She had made her decision and she was leaving.

"I can't." The young woman said, pain cracking her voice. And she couldn't, she couldn't stay one more day in that place. In that palace of hypocrites where peace was achieved through bloodshed, and justice through bribery. Where innocents were killed on a whim and the law was the king's fancy. Arya knew something had to be done and that she couldn't stay there, a silent witness, to all the crimes their parents were committing. The king and queen of Cairn were corrupting their nation and Arya could no longer stand idly by.

"Arya..." Ellana whispered, clutching at her sister's hand. "Don't leave. Where will you go?"

"I don't know." Arya replied truthfully. Anywhere but here. She thought. "But I will find a way to end Mother and Father's regime and tyranny." She hesitated. "Come with me." She asked after a moment, but already knew her answer. Ellana was too young, too loving, and too loyal. She would never be able to leave no matter how much she may have wanted to. Arya knew it would tear her apart and she'd never survive.

Ellana looked down, her soft brown hair cascading over her face. "I can't. I'm not like you, Arya." There was a soft shame to her voice and Arya shook her head, keeling down with her.

"Then stay. Stay and help all those that you can here." She said strongly, lifting Ellana's eyes to her own. "Half the guard are on our side, use that to your advantage." She offered a sad smile. "You're clever, Ellana. I know you'll do all that you can here." Arya smiled sadly, tears brimming in her eyes. "We will achieve peace, once their regime of terror is over."

Ellana smiled, clasping her hands around Arya's. "Be safe, sister."

"I will." Arya said softly.

"Princess." A soft voice interrupted the two sisters, and they turned. In the doorway stood Julian, their tutor who would be assisting Arya on her journey. "We must go now; the guards will be back soon and there are some questions you won't want to answer."

Arya nodded, standing slowly, and releasing Ellana's hands. Her little sister looked up, her golden brown curls shifting down her back. The younger princess looked up with wide brown eyes. Arya sighed, her heart breaking then steeling. This was what she had to do. She stepped backwards, disappearing through the door with Julian, leaving Ellana behind in her rooms. Wide skirts swishing around the corner, she pulled her dark blue cloak close, pulling the hood on, dark eyes looking out from the shadow of it.

"Milady," Julain's voice sounded quietly from the shadows beside her. She nodded to him and the pair darted towards the stables. The horses nickered and the musty warmth of the stable filled the air. "Shh." Julian whispered quietly, leading two horses out of their stalls. Both were a bright white, bred from the finest horses in the kingdom.

"Woah, Rainstorm." Arya whispered softly, grabbing her mare by the head. As silent as posssible, she and Julian led Rainstorm and Snow, Ellanna's riding horse, from the stables and down towards the guard moved to stop them, but Arya rode quickly, letting the guard see her face but riding quickly so he didn't have time to ask them questions. With the other guards doing the rounds on the other side of the castle, he didn't have the force to stop them either.

Arya looked back once, at the castle and everything she knew, at Ellana. Then she turned back fixing her eyes on the horizon, the bright full moon in the sky. She rode forward, spurring Rainstorm into a gallop, her cloak billowing about her. She rode forward into the unknown, riding for freedom, for peace, for a new age of Cairn. "We will achieve peace." She whispered her vow to herself. "I will see Cairn restored, fair and beautiful once more." She nodded, her dark eyes steeling and a ghost of a smile quirking her lip up. "Yes, I will."

A/N idk what that was, but it was fun to write :) Maybe I'll turn it into a book later on
