"You guys wait here, I will be right back."
View gently takes Mim in her arms, the girl melting into View's as they reach the Rattanawadee front door.
"View?"
"Mrs Rattanawadee, you still awake at this hour?"
"I hope I didn't disturb your sleep."
Mim's mom waves View off.
"I was waiting for my daughter to come home. Oh, Mim. Did she drink a lot?" She looks at Mim in View's secured arms.
"She goes a little overboard today... I should have.."
"She must be really happy today." The mom smoothers Mim's hair. Her daughter must be overjoyed seeing View again. No matter what, she has faith in them, they will get back together in no time.
"Can you help me bring her up to her room, please View?"
View looks back at the trio in her car, making Mim's mom notice them too.
"Tell your friends to come inside the house, it's more comfortable in here."
Tu, Love, Prim end up having a late-night tea party with Mrs Rattanawadee while View tucks Mim in.
She had never been in this house before, so it took her some time to locate Mim's room.
View easily gets Mim on the bed, her memories rewind to the first time she saw Mim drunk, laughing to herself.
Mim, in her clingy drunken state, unconsciously tightens her arms around View's neck, making her lose balance and get pulled down on the bed along with Mim.
"Oomff."
Their new position leaves View's lungs filled with Mim's intoxicating scent.
The older girl doesn't mean to sniff her cause she thought it was weird, but she also need to breathe. Mim seems to have changed her fragrance, and it is doing things that 'can not be said out loud' to View.
She tried to sit up, scared that someone might come into the room and misunderstand her actions. View almost cried when Mim pulled her even closer and unintentionally rubbed her nose along View's neck to her collarbone.
View's body immediately goes rigid, feeling electricity sent throughout her body, numbing her mind.
"Mim, if you hear me, you have to let go." 'before I pop a blood vessel'
Mim let out an unexpected moan, the heavenly sound conveniently flowed directly into View's ears.
The older girl jumped, the tingling sensation from the way Mim sounded left goosebumps and her heart skipping beats.
"M.... M... Mim." She turns into a stammering idiot.
Suddenly, Mim's eyes fluttered open, staring up at her with hazy eyes.
View held her breath. She didn't know if Mim gonna scream or not.
Everything stops around them as they stare at each other, wanting to dive into the other's softness... Mostly View since Mim couldn't keep her eyes focused on View for long and began to stray at the wall behind View.
Finally, after sending View an irresistible smirk, Mim dropped her arms, turning on her side to sleep again.
It all happened in the blink of an eye, so fast that View couldn't wrap her head around it. She shot upright, hand on her heart, memories of their first encounter playing in her head.
------Flashbacks to when View's 8 years old and Mim's 6 years old.
View runs to the big windows in her house excitedly after her parents mention that they have new neighbors, and there's someone close to her age.
She saw a big truck parked outside with people moving all kinds of stuff out of it and then into the house next to hers. She's curious about who's going to be her play date.
Soon later, an expensive-looking car parked behind the truck. Stepping out first is who View thinks is the father. He rounds over to the car door and opens it for his wife, who's carrying a little girl holding a duck plushie.
The little girl wiggles, wanting to be dropped on the ground so she can walk.
View watches on, seeing the little girl come over to her house's front yard and start picking flowers from the garden while doing her best to hold her duck friend.
The girl suddenly raised her head and caught View from the window, instead of running away she stared back at View.
Of course, View being a kid, at lightning speed kneeled on the floor, almost crawling. She's embarrassed at being caught prying.
Taking a peak View sees the little girl now running back to her parents, hiding behind her mom's legs.
'cute' that's what flashes through View's mind.
After that day, View is too shy to meet the neighbors. So much so whenever her parents ask them over for dinner View would hide in her room.
View listens to her parents talk about the little girl even more than talking about her. They compliment how she's a good kid, but mostly they always swoon because of how cute she is.
Through her parent's words, the girl sounds amazing. She wants to befriend her, so hopefully the girl has forgotten about their little incident.
_____
One day, after school as usual. View is at her family-owned bakery, located near their neighborhood.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she notices a tiny figure standing outside the door. It looks like she wants to come inside the store. View waves her to get inside as she walks over to the door, opening it for the little girl. Only to find out it was her neighbor by the unmistakable yellow duck.
The little girl caught her eyeing it and proceeded to tighten her grip on her fluffy friend.
View realizes that too, and her smile widens. She's very cute, her boba eyes. Her hair ties up nicely in a twin tail, pink puffy cheeks along with her purse lips cause she thinks View wants her duck friend.
"My name is View. What's yours?"
"My name is Mim." Even her voice is cute. View understands why her parents want to adopt Mim. They already treat her like their child anyway.
"You're P'View?"
"That's right I am. Are you looking for me, Mim?" View hands are very close to testing out how soft Mim's cheeks are.
Mim nods eagerly, excited that she has found the right person.
"What do you need?"
"My mom needs butter to cook and told me to come ask you."
View giggles.
"You have come to the right place. I will be right back."
View runs to the back and within a minute or two comes back with 2 bags of butter.
"View! you take too much." The bakers call out at their little boss.
"It's fine. We still have a mountain of butter." View yells back but still leaves a bag behind because she doesn't think Mim can carry it.
"Here you go, Mim." View grin, accomplished.
But the banana chocolate cream pie is stealing all of Mim's attention from View and the butter.
"Do you want to try that?"
"Umm... no, thank you, P'View." Mim looks away, her hands fidgeting with the duck.
View laughs.
"Don't worry, I will get it for you."
View walks to the baked goods displayed and uses her impressive height to get Mim a slice.
"Have a taste." View pulls her to one of the tables before grabbing two spoons, skipping the forks they usually use.
"I can eat this P'View?" Mim's bright shiny eyes blink up at View.
"Of course."
View pushes the spoon into Mim's hand.
Taking a bite, Mim instantly lit up like decorated lights.
"This is so good P'."
"I'm glad you like it."
"Have you ever eaten this?"
View smiled sweetly.
"Yes, I have, many, many times before."
"Really? That's so cool." Mim beams at View with admiration.
"Haha, I will take that as a compliment."
View is trying to contain herself from ruffling Mim's hair or pinching her cheeks.
Mim suddenly holds her spoon with cake on it toward View.
"Something wrong?"
Mim cutely shakes her head, ears bright red.
"I've eaten a lot of it, Mim."
The spoon is still being held to her mouth. She sees Mim pursing her lips again.
"Okay, okay." View eat off the spoon.
"Mmm, very delicious."
Mim smiled so wide, her eyes curved like a happy cat.
They didn't know, but the workers had been secretly recording them, capturing every moment.
"Mim, why... oh, you must be View?" Mim's Mom welcomed them.
"Yes, hi Mrs Rattanawadee, I'm bringing the butter."
"Hi, Mom." Mim copies View words.
Her Mom places a kiss on her head before taking the bag from View.
"Thank you so much, View, for walking my daughter home as well."
"Did you hang out with P'View, sweetie?"
Mim nods.
"P'View is very nice Mom, she let me eat cake."
"Really now, I was about to turn worry."
"Sorry, Mom." Mim look down.
"Next time, tell me first, okay? Go take a shower, sweetie."
"Bye, bye, P'View."
View waves back.
"I will go home too, have a nice evening, Mrs."
"Wait, View, I need to pay for this and also the cake."
"You can ask my Mom about the butter, but the cake Mim eat is on me, Mrs." View walks inside her house.
Mrs Rattanawadee lets out a laugh at her daughter's new friend, View's very mature for her age and she seems to treat Mim very nicely.
---End of flashbacks.
View snaps out of her dream, feeling mortified at the memories of their first meet while sitting in her ex's room, inside her house. She needs to get out of here immediately.
But before leaving, View succumbs to her desires and drops a kiss on Mim's forehead, grabbing Mim's duck plushie and placing it on the other pillow beside her.
"Goodnight, Mim."
"Everything alright up there View?"
"Yes Mrs Rattanawadee, she's sleeping."
Mim's Mom has a sad demeanor.
"You can still call me like before View." "It's late, we shouldn't disturb you any longer." View avoids her eyes when she walks to the door.
"Drive safe View, it was nice getting to know you all."
"Good night."
The trio beam.
"Us too Mrs, have a good night."
View mumbles a good night.
When the door is closed, View sprints to her car as the trio tries to catch up knowing she lies back there.
Inside her car, View turns on the engine without the intention of driving.
....
"Do you want me to drive View?" Love asks.
Quiet.
"Something happens, View?"
"You can tell us P'View, whatever it is, we will help you."
Their words make View, who's on the verge of tears completely break down.
Love moved fast, hugging her, patting her back, Tu and Prim leaned forward, almost standing up to comfort View.
When cries turn to quiet sobs, the trio, without planning ask one question that they know the answer to.
"Do you still love her?"
View look up from Love's shoulder.
"I don't think I've ever stopped."
....
"It feels better to let it out, right?"
"Good, we're all here for you."
"We will help you win her back, P'View."
View chuckles.
"Thank you, Prim, but I don't think she still has feelings for me."
"Huh, let's not jump straight to conclusion there. Besides, you forget we have Bonnie on our team?"
"If anything, we will send Prim to go on dates with her in exchange for information." Tu winked while Prim shrugged agreeing.
View laughs loudly, her tears have stopped falling.
"Before we get into any of that, let's go home and rest."
_____
Next day at Mimetta cooperations, in the afternoon.
Bonnie finds View in her office alone.
"Quick question P'View, how was it like going back to work?"
View rolls her eyes at Bonnie's tease.
"You're not creative with those lines at all, Bonnie."
"I've tried, any news last night after I went home?"
"Why would you ask?"
"I'm only human P'View. It's nature for us to be curious." Bonnie walks around the room.
View chooses to tell her the truth. There's nothing to hide anyway, except the part where she kisses Mim on the forehead, and might or might not overstays her welcome.
"I drive her home safely."
"And her mom asked me to put her in bed."
"Wait, how's Mim like when she's drunk P'? I haven't seen it in a while." This question is actually irrelevant, but she wants to hear it from View.
"She's a cute drunk, sleeping all the way through." View is focused on the task in front of her.
"Hmm."
"She's clingy and touchy as well, right?"
.... "Yeah."
"Wow, nothing has changed."
Bonnie once told View of the one time Mim got drunk and tried to kiss her.
The story traumatized View. Since then, the older girl has never let her girlfriend drink too much and never leaves her alone when she is just close to being tipsy.
Bonnie noticed how anxious View was last night, when she watched Mim having drink after drink and couldn't say anything, because now she needs reasons when it comes to Mim.
"So when you bring her home, she just sleeps?" Bonnie lurking around View.
"Don't ask questions you already know, Bonnie." The paper in her hand was crumpled.
"Hmm, indeed, but I care for details of the story."
"Ha, like you're gonna get it. I like your confidence."
Bonnie backed up, she would try again with her best friend later. When she's not a grumpy hangover mean monster.
"Mim ask for you by the way P'View."
View's chair scraped back as she stood up abruptly.
"What? When? Where?"
"Let's see, I think 6 minutes ago and on the highest floor."
"You do this on purpose." View scowled annoyingly and rushed over to the photocopier.
"What're you doing P'? Aren't you supposed to run straight to her? She doesn't like to be kept waiting."
View muffled out Bonnie's voice.
"Ah, wrinkled papers give off bad impression." Bonnie's talking on her own while View hastily gathers her things and leaves the room.
_____
"You want to see me, Mim?"
"P'View, that's 15 minutes late."
"And you shouldn't barge into a lady's room like that."
View walked deeper inside the room until she saw Mim behind her desk with her sunglasses.
"I'm sorry, Bonnie do me dirty." She mumbles the last part. Somehow, Mim still hears it.
"I told you before Bon can be super annoying when she wanted to."
"Um, you call me here to talk about her? Or..."
Mim let out a laugh.
"Tired of me already P'View? Of course, the reason I'm calling you here is for the papers in your hands."
'that makes more sense.' View put the papers on her table and stepped back. She contemplated for a second before asking.
"How's your head?"
"The hangover sucks P', it's beating my ass."
View couldn't see her expression to know when she was joking or serious.
"Sounds bad. Have you drunk the pill to help with it?"
"I have too much work."
View's concern, she wishes to force Mim in her car and drive her home.
"I thought you wouldn't be at the company today."
"I can't skip a day in this sensitive time P'View, these contracts are not going to sign themselves."
"Is there anything I can do?"
Mim lips curved up.
"You already did. What you did with the marketing department is outstanding."
Hearing her ex's compliment is really something, View feels like she could walk out of the room with her head held high and throw her fist in the air.
"Thank you... by the way I think you shouldn't call me P', if anyone hears that..."
Mim put away her glass, her brows furrowed.
"I will not under any circumstances change my ways of addressing you P'View."
"But we're.."
"We're in the company? I am your boss? It doesn't matter." Mim's clear words and her ability to take control of the situation ended the discussion.
View almost wince, she's being scolded like a kid caught stealing.
In front of Mim, she's just a nervous little bunny and Mim? Now a boss lady through and through, sharp, demanding perfection, and leaving no room for protest.
