"Mom, Dad, I have something to say."
Mim's parents drop everything they're doing to focus on their daughter, concerned at her serious expression.
"You can tell us anything sweetie, take your time."
Mim sighs, pulling on her hair.
"I... um... I like P'View."
"More than a friend... and not like an older sister." Mim looks down at the table not because she's embarrassed but because this is the first time she has said it out loud to her parents.

She instantly gets wrapped in a tight hug.
"That's great baby, the two of you will look amazing together." Her Mom smothers her with kisses on her head.
"I believe View can keep you grounded, no more going around breaking hearts."
"Daddd, and why do you guys react even more now than when I come out?" She remembers they're so cool and calm, almost like she's telling them about her normal day at school and not actually confessing to being a lesbian.

"We love you no matter what Mim, you're the best gift to us."
"We worried about a lot of things when it comes to you, but you liking girls never made it on the list." Her Mom looked 'sorry' while her Dad nodded along, making Mim cackle.

She's so lucky to live and be raised by them.
"Thank you Mom."
"P'View, hmm?" Her Mom teased, smiling knowingly.
Mim chuckles.
"Yes, I only realized my feelings for her because of Bonnie."

Her parents secretly give her disbelief eyes, they've always been kind of obvious. If Mim hadn't sat them down, having this conversation, they would have assumed the girls were already dating.
And they didn't ask her straight away because they wanted Mim to come find them and tell them when she was ready or needed to share.

"Are you going to tell her?"
"I will Mom, hopefully it goes well."
Even though the hints are super loud and clear, Mim can't help feeling worried.
"Aww, from what we see, it's definitely positive."
"View's a great person, and she's very compatible with you hon." Her Dad nodded across the table, already approved of this daughter in law.
"Tell her soon sweetie, we're expecting a winter wedding. Preferably December."
"Ugh, I'm literally sixteen!"
"We're not opposing."
Mim cutely huffed before running up to her room.

_____

The next morning when Mim opened the door to a regular delivery.
"Good morning, special delivery. Cakes for Mim from View." He reads the note.

She grins widely whenever someone mentions her name with View together.
"Thank you so much, wait here a bit please."
Mim comes back with money in her hand.
"I don't know the specific price but here."
The delivery guy immediately rejects the money.
"I can't take this Mim, the Benyapa pays me well to have this delivered to you."
"But I always have it for free, it's not right." Mim pushed the money into his hand.
"I can't, this is too much. View will yell at me."
Mim helplessly laughed.
"This is only between us, I promise not to tell her. Please, take the money."

The moment he sighs in defeat, there's a voice coming up behind him.
"Hey, why are you taking her money?"
They jump as View reaches the house.
"I... I already told her that I can't take it, but Mim..."
"It's not his fault, I want to pay P'View~"
The older girl shakes her head aggressively.
"Uh, uh, no way. What do you think you're doing? And where did you get the money from?"
Mim giggles as she steps forward, linking her arm with View's.
"This is the money I saved up from my part-time job in the summer."
View face darkened.
"Then you should save it Mim, you've worked hard to earn it."
"This is nothing compared to the amount of baked goods your family sent me over the years P'."
"Come on, don't be grumpy, please let me pay just this time, please~" Mim pinched View's cheeks and pulled them up to make her smile, it worked flawlessly.
"Fine but only this time okay? If my parents find out, I will be the one who gets scolded."
Mim cutely holds up an okay, while View pinches her nose.

"Uh... can I go now, boss?" The delivery guy stands there awkwardly, forcing him to watch his boss being lovey-dovey with Mim, he totally supports them and is super excited for his boss and her girlfriend but this is cruel.
"Oh, yeah, you can. Thank you for delivering it safely to Mim every time." This is one of many reasons why View is so famous in their neighborhood and her school. Everybody dreamt of experiencing her gentleness along with her charming, gentlewoman personality.
"Of course boss, have a nice day."

After he left, View turned to Mim, who was looking up at her in awe.
"What? Is there anything on my face?" View asks, touching her face.
"Nothing, just pure perfection." Mim brings a hand up, knuckles grazing View's cheek.
"Gosh, where did you learn that hmm?" View hug her waist.
"What makes you think I needed to be taught?" Mim's words are as shocking as View's face right now.
"Woah... okay Miss Rattanawadee, have you opened the box?" View swiftly changes the subject.
"Not yet P'."
"There's a message in there for you."
"Oh? I should open it now then."
View nodded but didn't let go of her waist.
"P'View~ I need to get inside to open it." Mim whines, pursing her lips.
"You can open it here~" View rarely uses her baby voice but when she's with Mim the voice slips out naturally.
"But I still need to go inside to get it back out here."
"Okay, get back soon." She finally let go of Mim, and they laughed at how clingy they were.

Mim only needs ten steps before standing in front of View again, with the box in her arms.
"I'm back P', you miss me?"
"A little, I immediately get lonely when you're gone." View's lips curved up while her eyes shone.
Mim tried to search her face to see if it was high level flirting or if she meant it.
"You want me to open this here P'? Why not inside the house?"
"Hmm, the weather is very nice today, and I hope all the luck is on my side."
The younger girl looks confused, she also thinks the weather is nice but the second part is strange.

"Let's see what message you got for me P'." Mim opens it and inside is a normal-looking cake with frosting decorated as letters.
View waits but doesn't expect Mim to read it out loud.

"Will... you... go... on a date with me?"
"Yes/No."
"Huh?" Mim is lost.
"What's your answer Mim?"
The younger girl looked up at View and then down at the cake quite a few times before her eyes widened, her lips parted.
"This... this question is for me?"
"Yes, only for you." View shyly darted her gaze away.

Mim stared at her, she thought this scene would only happen in her dreams. She might have dreamt it to live because this couldn't feel more real.

Without giving View a straight answer, Mim dipped her finger into the 'Yes' frosting and had a taste.
"Delicious, did this answer your question P'View~" Mim smirks cheekily at View's red face, but the older girl is not gonna let her get her way that easily, clearing her throat View says.
"I want a verbal answer baby Mim." She grabs Mim's waist again, hearing her giggles.
"It's a yes P'View, always."
View face is gonna break from smiling.
"Can I have a taste as well?" View touches Mim's forehead with hers.
"Next time just say you wanted me to feed you P'." A new flirter has been discovered.
"I want you to feed me." She casually says it while Mim's cheeks turn a darker shade of red, still not an opponent to eighteen years old View.

Mim takes the frosting on her fingertip again before holding it up to View's lips.

View gently lick it off her finger, biting lightly.

"You bite me P'?" Shivers run through Mim's body, and her knees almost give out.
"Did I hurt you?" View asked worried. Mim let out a laugh, shaking her head while holding View's face, thumb smoothing over her cheeks.
"Thank you for asking me out P'View." Mim lay her head on View's chest, hearing their heart beating in sync.
"It's inevitable, I know that I need to ask you sooner or someone might come and sweep you off your feet away from me."
"That's hard to happen." Mim mumbles.
"But it might... I like you Mim."
View dropped a kiss on her head, rubbing her nose into Mim's hair.
"I like you too P'View."
...
There's a flash of camera that caught their attention.
"Mom, Dad?"
They saw Mim's parents at the window, waving.
Mim rolls her eyes playfully.
"We're so glad you finally got together, now can you guys come inside so we can celebrate?" Mrs Rattanawadee stands by the door.
"Um... we haven't officially been together yet. Mama." View takes the box, and walks inside the house with Mim.
"Still worth celebrating, let me call your parents over as well. They would be thrilled at this news"

ViewMim looks at each other and cackles at their reactions.

_____
On the day of their first date, View picks Mim up after school without telling her any information about where they're going or what they're gonna do.

"Where are you taking me P'View? Are we going to the cinema?"
View chuckles when Mim looks out from the car window excitedly.
"It's a surprise, I can't tell you."
Mim strikes her bambi eyes at View, pursing her lower lip.
"But I want to know P', I'm nervous."
View glances at her.
"Nervous? Aren't you jumping up and down happily right now?" View takes Mim's hand in her bigger palm, liking the way it fits like a puzzle.

Mim instantly blushed, something she had been doing too much after realizing her feelings for the older girl.
"I'm the happiest, but I don't want to be underdressed next to you." Her voice gets smaller as she plays with View's fingers.
"What are you talking about? Have you seen yourself in the mirror Mim?"

View's driving in a white tank top with blue jeans, and Mim's worried about being underdressed next to her? She hoped this would be the last time Mim felt insecure about herself, since View could make a whole album praising Mim's beauty and still feel like it was not enough.

"You're so beautiful no matter what you wear, and we're not going somewhere fancy okay? I will only let you know that." View kisses the back of her hand.

Mim beams at the older girl's sweet words, almost melting.
"This is already the best date I've ever been on."
"Hmm, wait to be impressed. You have seen nothing yet, little Mim." View smiles smugly at Mim, focusing on driving them to their date.

Before getting out of the car, View pulled out a blindfold, holding it in front of Mim.
"To make the date have a more wow factor, I need you to put it on."
Mim giggles.
"You're acting so suspicious P'View, I'm sure whatever surprise you've prepared for me, I will love it."
View shakes her head funnily.
"No more talking, let's help you put this on."
View gently placed the cloth over Mim's eyes, tying it carefully behind her head.
"Is it too tight?"
"It's fine P', but I'm about to pass out from excitement."
View chuckles, lightly ruffling her hair.
"So impatient."
View quickly got out of the car and went to the other side, opening her car door.
"Give me your hand."
"Where P'View?"
Mim is so cute, making View want to hold her and glue to her all the time.

After successfully helping Mim out of the car, View started to guide Mim uphill.

The younger girl could feel the breeze of wind against her cheeks, the soft soil with each step she took, and the fresh, airy smell filling her lungs.

"We're close."
Mim can only hear View's voice in this state, a sensation of comfortable warmth, and certainty instantly washed over Mim. She feels in her heart that she can trust View with anything, the older girl is a strong shoulder for her to lean on and to fight for. Kinda like her comfort blanket where she can feel protected and pure happiness.

"Don't let go of me P'View.." Her vulnerable words must have caught View off guard as she stopped walking, even Mim didn't know where that came from.

Mim can sense View's presence and is pretty sure she's just an arm's length away since they're still holding hands. If Mim wanted to, she could easily pull View into a hug, but View is always one step ahead when it comes to making moves.

She steps into Mim's space, then reaches up, brushing the tip of her finger lightly along Mim's high straight nose.

"I will never let go of you, no matter what." View husk with thick emotion in her voice. She feels a firm, reassuring squeeze from Mim and that's all she needs to know without the younger girl having to say it out loud.

____
"We're here. Are you ready little Mim?" View moves to stand behind Mim, her hands resting on the blindfold.
"I can't wait."
As View gently removes the blindfold, a soft gasp escapes Mim. The scenery that appears before her can only be described in one word: magical.
She can see an overview of the town they live in, bathing in the afternoon sun.

Turning around, this time Mim sees a picnic laid out before her. She lets out another soft gasp because this is all Mim ever wanted, not flashy gifts or flowers, not expensive dinners or fancy restaurants. Just this, a simple, thoughtful picnic with the one person who makes her feel loved for the first time.
She wouldn't tell View this little secret on their first date, though.

View is already seated, gazing up at Mim with a look full of quiet adoration. Her affection has long passed the point of simple fondness, she can't stand the thought of sharing Mim with the world, not when she knows how incredible she is.

View is proud of her, wants to show her off every chance she gets even before she ever understands why her heart feels calm and soothed in Mim's presence, or why jealousy burns when Mim gets too close to someone else, even Bonnie.

The worst moments were always when Mim went on dates, whether with boys or girls, it didn't matter. View hated it. She'd try to avoid hanging out with her during those times, or if she had to View would steer the conversation away from the topic.

Looking back now, she knows it was toxic and selfish, but back then her feelings were overwhelming, locked up, and pushed aside by her own fear. Just like Mim, she was scared. What if her feelings were one-sided? What if they weren't returned? She couldn't risk ruining their relationship. Her immaturity also kept her from being able to celebrate Mim's happiness when it wasn't with her.

And then, one day she simply stopped suppressing her love for Mim and began to act on it. Strangely enough, it was Bonnie who gave her the final push. Saying "Why miss out on a chance of being with the person you care so deeply for?"
"Only to lose Mim to someone who doesn't even deserve her" Those words stuck with View, and Bonnie is right.

That's how she ended up here, relaxed and content while waiting to see Mim's adorable reaction to everything she'd prepared for their date.

"P'View, this is beautiful, I love it so much." Mim walks to her, plopping down beside View as she observes the decoration View prepared for her.
"I'm glad you like it princess."
"Like? I love it P'."
View grins back, mirroring Mim ones.
"I know it's nothing much, and I didn't actually cook but.." View pulled her eyes away from Mim shyly.
"No, it's even better P'View, this is everything." The younger girl intertwined their hands and leaned in to place an appreciative kiss on View's cheek.
"Thank you P', I've never been on a picnic date before."
View's smile couldn't be any softer as she slightly tapped Mim's nose.
"Then let's enjoy it to the fullest. You should try that strawberry covered chocolate, Mim."
"My favorite, but it would be nicer if someone could feed me P'~" Mim lay down on her back, fluttering her eyes at View.

View chuckles, following her movements, lying down but on her stomach with an arm supporting her body.
"Hmm, there's no one else here. I guess I will be the one to do it. It's my job anyway." View picks up a plump strawberry from the basket, holding it out to Mim's lips.

The younger girl lifted herself slightly, it was enough for her lips to brush against View's fingers. The touch was barely there, fleeting but it sent a jolt of electricity through both of them. For a heartbeat, neither moved.

Mim bites into it slowly, the sweetness of the fruit mixing with the warmth blooming in her chest. Their eyes meet, soft, lingering, and filled with devotion.

View hadn't blinked, nor had her gaze strayed for even a second since Mim's lips wrapped around the strawberry. She was completely captivated by Mim's eyes, the slow way she chewed and the way this moment felt far more intimate than it had to be.

Leaning back without breaking their intimate gaze, Mim stared back with equal intensity. She could feel it, this was the perfect moment for their first kiss, her heart raced but she didn't move. Instead she waited, patient and hopeful, giving the older girl the space to take that first step.

Taking advantage of being on top View starts with her signature move, tucking Mim's brown locs behind her ear, while slowly closing in the distance between them. When her lips are hovering above Mim, View sucks in a breath.

"Can I kiss you, Mim?"
Their breaths mingle, making the kiss more desirable.
"Yes P'."
View pressed her lips to Mim's in a kiss full of love, tasting her sweetness from the strawberry and chocolate lingering on her tongue. She deepened the kiss, hand carefully cradling Mim's neck as they sank back onto the soft picnic blanket beneath them.

View swipes her tongue over Mim's bottom lip and immediately gets granted access. The younger girl's tiny whimpers can be heard, and her fingers thread into View's dark hair, pulling her down closer. View leans back slightly only to quickly surge forward for a second kiss.

When they're out of breath, the two rest their foreheads together smiling widely and in delight with the intimacy they shared.

"I like you a lot P'View." Mim sighs, kissing View's head on her chest, massaging her head.
"I like you more princess, no argument." View lifts her head from her safe place to shower Mim's face with a rain of kisses.

Their first kiss ends with Mim's giggles and whispers of sweet nothings, exchanged under the golden glow of the sunset now as girlfriends.
