Chapter 1
What just happened?
Her voices echoing in her mind, her eyes barely focus, but she could feel it. The cold surrounding her body, the air slowly escape from her lungs.
Her mind play back at the memory just fifteen minutes ago.
She remembers there was a group of girls suddenly blocking her way when she was heading to the library, they're dragging her to the school swimming pool and said something nonsense that she couldn't understand. When she was most off guard, one of them push her off the swimming pool, so fast before she could even react.
Man, she knew that there plenty of people didn't like her, but, drowning her? This is new she's gonna say.
She knew college life was being tough, and she was ready for any situation, being bullied is one of that too.
She not complained, but, she didn't know how she became a bullies' victim when she just a nerd. It was start to happen when she was in high school at Rintis Island, now she was moved to Kuala Lumpur to study college, yet she still a bullies' victim.
And the reason she got bullied through those years only have one, because she had stolen their boyfriend, even though she didn't know whose their boyfriend. And that the same reason they said before she was space out and end up here.
Maybe she should stop thinking how bull**** this is and start to swim before she was out of air and really drowning.
When she was reaches the water surface, she immediately sprayed all the water that been spilled into her mouth. "Guakk, cough cough cough. Urrggg, disgusting."
When she starts to swim towards to find the cold of tile floor of the pool. "Hope the school will consider changing the janitor, clearly that they didn't take their job serious." Yaya muttered "If I were the President, this will be on top of list problem need to be solves."
But, when her hand reaches a dry surface. Her palm touches some plant or more likely - grass.
"Heh?" Yaya stunned and looks where her hand landed on - a land surface where grass growing, and it wet.
She eyes grew big, and she snap her heads up to looks.
Trees. Everywhere
What the....
Yaya trembling pull her hand back, she can't believe in her eyes. Just minutes ago she was sure she in the school pool, now she isn't sure anymore.
"Hey! Are you okay, young girl? You look pales. "
Yaya startled at the voice, she turned back to see an old man likely have the same age as her grandpa was approaching her.
"... Ah, I'm.. I'm okay." Yaya stammered in her words.
"If you say so, but, I advise you should get out of there soon. In this weather it's not good for your health, you could get sick."
"Ah, right." Yaya nodded to him and put her hand on the land to make a push for her weight. The man smiling as he saw the girl was completely out of the lake.
"Uhh, can I asking you something mr..." Yaya spoke haft and then stop, she didn't ask the grandpa name.
The man filled in her awkward silence. "Tok Aba, you could call me Tok Aba. "
"Tok Aba, Can I ask you where are we?" Yaya asked with a small smile in her lip.
Tok Aba looks at yer with a worries gaze. "Oh, I suppose that you were lost, Am I right? "
"Uhh, You could say so. I honestly didn't know where am I." Yaya shrugged, she didn't lie.
"Well then, we are in the main forest of Earth land. And from here it didn't be far to come to the nearby village. If you want, you could go there and offer to help. It will take 5 days to go there." Tok Aba pointed to the front.
"However, to consider your situation right now. You should dry your clothes first." Tok Aba said as he pointed at her outfit.
Yaya stunned and looks down at her clothes, it soaked and cover with some grass on it. "Ah.. Hahaha.. I guess you were right." Yaya sheepishly scratched her neck.
"If you want, you could come to my house. It only takes 15 minutes walking, and I think I could find for you more decent clothes more than the one you was wearing." He said.
"Does that bother you?" Yaya hesitated.
"Not at all, back at my house there are my grandsons too. I think he won't mind." He cheerful laughed.
"Then, thank you, Tok Aba." Yaya happily bow to thank him.
"Don't be so polite. Just see me as your grandpa. "
"Well, then. Atok." Yaya give him a sweet smile.
Yaya follow him back to his house, when she goes pass the trees. She took a glance at them, and remember every different detail on the path back to Tok Aba's house. In that way, she won't get lost if she needs to go back to the lake or find the way to the village.
Don't mistake her, yes, she confused and scared because she has no ideas where is this place, even though Tok Aba already said it before. However, in her opinion, panic won't help her in this situation.
"We here." Tok Aba voice snap her out of her mind.
Yaya turns to looks at the wood house, with a looks she could simply guess that the house has two floors and a fireplace. In the front door there are an old classic glass lantern hanging on the wood ceiling.
Creak
Tok Aba open the door and say. "Come on in. I'll set fire for you. "
Yaya beamed and follows him to fireplaces, she wants to help him put the wood in the fireplace, but Tok Aba quickly stop her.
"No no, young girl just sit down there. I'll do it."
Yaya takes a step back as he said. When the fire was setting up, Tok Aba turn to her. "Now waiting here, I'll find some clothes for you. "
"Thanks Atok."
"You were thanking too much, young girl."
Yaya watching him slightly shakes his heads as he's heading to the stairs not far from the fireplace, her head hung down as he out of her view. Yaya hugs her body tightly press her nails into her skin, a part of her was hoping all of this is an illusion.
Then again, besides cold and the pain from her nails, she couldn't tell if she was injured or have a brain's damage. It's making no sense, how could she in a lake in middle forest right after she fell down the pool?
Yaya groans, and she hides her face in her arms, the heat from the fire make her eyes lids feeling heavy.
"Young girl?" Too Aba voice echoing behind her, Yaya startled and turn around to looks at him.
"Atok.." Yaya whispered in sleepy voice.
Tok Aba gaze's soften as he looks at her. "Here, I bring you some clothes. The bathroom's at the end of the hallway on the second floor. Try to stay awake, okay? You haven't eating yet."
"Thanks Atok." Yaya gently takes the clothes, she tries her best to show him a smile.
"Makes yourself at home. " Tok Aba looks at her slowly heading to the second floor, he lower his heads and sigh. "Poor little girl, she must've exhausted. "
Yaya walking on the stairs and along the hallway, her eyes watched at every door she go through. When there only one left, she takes a deep breath and open it.
She step inside and looks herself in the mirror.
Oh my god, it has just been a few hours in this unknown place. Yet, I look like a homeless person.
Yaya trembled, her vision start to blurring, and she could feel the hot tear rolling down her cheeks. She startled, her mind was confused, she was never have this feeling before. Feared has clawing up to her stomach, she couldn't stop the thought she was being alone, a place she can't tell. Normally, when she lost, she could just ask for people around there or calling for her friend. But now, she feels like she was not in Kuala Lumpur anymore.
She hiccups as she was trying to keep her voice down, knowing that panic or crying won't help her in any situation. But the fear of lonely has takes over her mind, she couldn't stop her tears or the trembling she had. Yaya slipped down to her feet, silently let all her tears out.
