The Differences Are A Sin
Racism and discrimination.
What are the first images or thoughts that come across your mind?
Let me try and read your mind.
Probably Asians who look different due to the shape of their eyes or people with their skin color darker than yours?
Am I right or am I right?
This is the problem.
We hoomans just totally disregard the fact that all of us our different. I mean starting with Indians to Latinos to Africans to Japanese to the Spanish and many others, we all differ by how we look and how we speak.
Why do we want to make a person feel like a target when he or she did nothing? If you do want to point those restless fingers somewhere then I suggest you point them at things that aren't right.
Now our problem was supposed to end here but oh what the hell! It only ends racism. There is another term which is even more vast and hence larger the stupidity. It's called discrimination.
It's hilarious how everyone judge us based on our clothes, habits and music taste. I don't know about you but to me that is also discrimination like Hello? You're wearing a mini-skirt to school. No one wants a flash of your underwear thank you.
Since I love kpop I'll take its example. Certain people act as if kpop was developed or introduced to the world by another species from the Jupiter. It's just pop with korean and was always there only it became more famous to the world NOW. If you don't like it then don't listen to it but don't hate on it for no reason.
Similarly I've seen that people listening to retro music are deemed 'boring', bass music listeners 'vibeful' and kpop listeners as 'weird'. Wow! Way to go, president!
Our choices and personalities actually affects our social life. This is the root of the reason why teenagers tend to hide their likings and and pretend to like things they don't.
We all are afraid of being judged for something that we love. There are people(like me to be honest) that either don't say anything but who will stand up for things they love and kick their asses if needed and then there are those who don't say or stand up. Not because they are weak. Perhaps because they choose to remain silent due to which a constant fear builds up inside themselves.
Differences make us unique. It makes us who we are deep down. It gives us different colors else we might end up looking and being as similar as the drops of water.
Can we distinguish a drop of water from others unless they are drops of various colors? We can't. However we humans want to be recognised. But pretending to be alike will just make us a part of the crowd until we aren't unique as an individual anymore.
Nobody has asked you to shout out your tastes and opinions in public. Hence, when uncomfortable don't say anything at all. Choose to stay silent because this is not harmless and because we don't need to waste our time and energy on little disappointments. Mind you! I am not telling you to remain silent. Sometimes silence is stronger than your words. Your choices don't always have to define who you truly are.
(However if things get out of hand a little strong punch to the face is always appreciated)
For today that's all I've got but please don't judge a person based on these things. Discriminate against them when their personalities are ugly, not their faces.
Thank you! ^^
