first impression.

The doorbell rang, abruptly stung Joseph's eardrums. Someone came in. Joseph could hear a drone sound of high heels approaching his table.

Joseph turned his head back when he felt that something had touched his skin. At the first sight, he was immediately overwhelmed. A woman who was wearing a red wine coloured dress stood right next to him. Her pearl necklace was so bright that it blinded his eyes. Not let him to wait, the woman's lips tenderly opened and started the conversation:

-Hi. Are you Joseph Han?

-Yeah, that's me. You must be Ms Lucy Blair.

Lucy's voice startled Joseph. He felt unsure, awkward, or even perhaps a bit embarrassed when he had to face a true definition of goddess. He wished that Lucy would not mind his weird perspective to her.

-Actually, I'm Mrs Lucy Blair. I have been engaged since last month.

Lucy put out her hand. There was a silver ring, marvellously decorated by diamonds and rubies. "It seemed to remain stable on her finger"- A train of thoughts brushed over Joseph's mind. His face forced a smile as soon as he continued:

-So, why did you ask me to go out for a drink? I don't think we have anything to talk about.

-I saw your post on the XY+XX blog. All your satires are against my husband and I need you to delete them. That's my first warning.

Lucy said matter-of-factly. Her voice tone was a cool breeze that no one could see a sign of angriness on her face. Although he knew that he had done an unacceptable thing for her and her husband, Joseph did not want to condone Lucy's husband fault. The true story had its own profound reason.

Contrary to Joseph's nervousness, the young woman intently fixed her sideburns like she did not actually give attention to the topic they were discussing. Joseph sighed. Did Lucy care about her appearance more than Mr Blair's reputation ? Or did he just overthink?

In general, her mindset was not his business. Joseph took a sip of coffee, calmly asked back:

-You don't know about the mean things your husband had done , do you?

-What had my hubby done, little boy?

Joseph stroke the wrinkles on his vest. He had acted as a neighbour child for eighteen years. Making his parents proud was his life desire and the first time he tried to get away from the shadow of a dutiful son was taking a stand against Mr Blair, Lucy's unimaginably rich husband.

-He tried to steal Jane 's house!

His voice started rising up. Joseph gasped. Lucy pulled out her portable mirror and nipped it open, her face was a perfect picture of nonchalance.

-Who is Jane?- Lucy grumbled. She was applying lipstick to perfect her beauty.

-She is my friend. Oh God, could you please put your mirror away and focus on our conversation? I won't delete it, do you understand?

-Geez, you are trying to convince me that my husband is a nasty man right? Dear, how could I believe your naughty mouth then?- Lucy covered her mouth, giggled. Her body leaned back and it touched the chair. She could help laughing with Joseph's innocent manifesto. A handsome young man, under twenty years old, mild, amiable, and well made? Maybe that was the way he showed off to another person, not her at this time. – You should hurry up. You are depriving me of my spare time to go to the spa and try the latest nail collection on my gorgeous fingers.

-He persuaded Jane's father to sell his family's house. His mother needs money for heart surgeries. However, there was nothing at all! Mr Blair even vanished out of our sight in less than no time!

Joseph's lips touched the cup. He was trying to create the space for wisdom. More than that, the way Lucy smirked made him feel miserable and humiliated. She moved her hand closer to her eyes to have a better look at the watch. It was 2 p.m.

-That's my first, and also my last warning. If you refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit, the consequences will come soon – Lucy stood up then walked deliberately away. – Now I have to go. Want more information, contact me at the number I left on the table.

-Wa..wait!- Joseph shouted. He was hasty to pursue her, but Lucy had opened the car door and left him behind.

-Such a vain woman!- Joseph muttered. He put his hand into his trousers' pockets, wandered back to the table. He ordered a new cup of coffee with some sugar. His insulin should come back before he completely lost his consciousness in the sixth dimension. Joseph had a bad day and one Lucy was enough. Life obstacles were not easy to pass through.

-Hey...Are you Joseph Han? My highschool senior...right?

A tall boy heckled him in the back. Fluffy brown hair and ocean deep blue eyes. That was how Joseph described a tiktok celebrity or just this person standing right behind him.

-Who are you?- He asked.

-I'm Leon, from GZ Highschool. You graduated last year and I'm one of your fans. Your speech when you achieved first prize at the National Maths Contest intrigued me and dragged me into falling in love with numbers and trigonometry! – Leon's rapid-fire compliments surprised Joseph.

-Oh thank you for that. You are a nice guy. – Joseph nodded his head and suggested a hand shake.- I'm Joseph Han.

From the flash of Leon's eyes, Joseph could see he was in the seventh heaven. He did not know where this boy came from and why he loved him so much. Leon looked so young and lovely with soft cheeks. His smile was as bright as the sun and it lit up Joseph's drought soul after the meeting with Lucy.

-How long have you been waiting here?-Joseph asked

-Just two hours actually. I had followed you from the flower shop, you dropped your wallet and I want to give it back. But you were having a conversation with that pretty woman. I don't think I should interrupt you so I have waited until now.- Leon smiled and replied.

-Oh really? I'm so sorry for bothering you.

-It's okay. I'm good with it.- Leon brushed aside.

-Wanna have some coffee?- Joseph suggested and asked the waiter for another cup of coffee.

-Sure.
