Topic 18

1    How much time in a day do you spend on your computer?
I usually spend around 6 to 8 hours a day on my computer. Since I study at Academic Banking, most of my tasks require me to use it. However, I try to take short breaks every hour to avoid eye strain and fatigue

2    Which do you use more often, a computer or a smartphone, to access the Internet?
I use my smartphone more often because it's convenient and portable. I often use it to check emails, scroll social media, and read news when I'm on the go. But for serious assignments like writing or a project, I definitely prefer a computer

3    What skills do you think you have lost since you use a computer?
I think I've lost some handwriting skills because I rarely write with a pen nowadays. Y spelling has also gotten worse since I rely on spellcheck too much. Also, I feel my attention skill has shortened because I switch between tabs and apps so often.

PART 2: A MAJOR CHANGE THAT THE BENEFITS YOUR LOCAL AREA

About three years ago, the local government decided to turn an abandoned piece of land into a green space for the community. The project took around eight months to complete. Now, the park has walking paths, playgrounds for children, a small pond, and lots of trees.
The park has brought many benefits to the neighborhood. It encourages people to exercise, socialize, and spend more time outdoors. The area looks much cleaner and greener now, and the air quality has noticeably improved.
I contributed by joining a volunteer group that helped plant trees and clean up the site before the construction started. It was a great experience, and I felt proud to be part of something that helps the community.
Local people were really happy about the change. Many families now bring their kids there every weekend, and even elderly people enjoy walking there in the morning. The feedback from the community has been overwhelmingly positive.

PART 3
1    In what ways do young people in your country make changes to their community?
Young people today are very active in making positive changes. Some participate in environmental campaigns like cleaning up rivers or planting trees. Others join charity groups, raise funds for education or help the elderly. Many also use social media to raise awareness about important local issues.

2    Why is it important to make people aware of problems in their community?
If people are unaware of local problems, they can't do anything to solve them. Raising awareness helps communities take action, work together, and find solutions. It also helps prevent issues from getting worse. More importantly, when people feel connected to their community, they are more willing to help improve it.

3    Is it necessary to give students credits for their activities that improve their community?
If people are unaware of local problems, they can't do anything to solve them. Raising awareness helps communities take action, work together, and find solutions. It also helps prevent issues from getting worse. More importantly, when people feel connected to their community, they are more willing to help improve it.
