starlight falls from the galaxies,
forming a pool at my feet —
it is a lake of space's tears
and mine.
the light from the sun
reflects onto the moon pool
and on the milky surface,
i can see my reflection.
but the girl i can see there
is not me.
the girl i am looking at
has cried too many times,
has been too angry,
has left too many words unsaid
to be me.
