Family

When Jimin's father showed up that morning, Jungkook should have known that something was up. He didn't bother to stick around while Jimin came out to greet him and left to the kitchen to stir the porridge he had started for breakfast. For some reason he felt antsy, a bit concerned as to why they were taking too long talking outside on the porch rather than inside the house where it was warm and comfortable. It felt as if there was bad news coming his way, there was just something strange going on.

He should have known something was up, but it was too late for that now. He was walking beside Jimin, his hand on the small of his back. The omega happily tells him a story from his turn in the kitchens that day as they walked to his parents cabin. Apparently Namjoon had come by to ask Jimin to spend the night with them, per his other fathers request. Jungkook had barely managed to get out of being dragged into the whole staying the night invite. Even lied about having a night patrol shift and had to run to switch places with someone else. He knew very well he would not survive a whole night with his mates' annoying brothers.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay? Maybe you can switch with someone else?" Jungkook coughed when he looked away from Jimin's small pout. He didn't have the heart to tell him he had done just the opposite to ensure he didn't spend the night there.

"Don't worry, it'll just be one night. I'll be there bright and early to get you."

Jimin nodded and hugged him as they walked, his childhood home coming closer into view. Namjoon was already waiting at the front, his arms crossed and gaze focused on them as they approached. Jungkook had to look away from the intensity and instead focused on the sky above. How much more awkward can this get he thought to himself.

"The pup and I will miss you lots, be careful and don't do anything reckless." Jimin breathed out with a small whine as they stopped.

Jungkook looked down at him and smiled as he leaned down to run his nose against the omegas jaw. He left a small kiss against his mating mark and then grabbed both sides of his face before pulling him in for a kiss. Jimin hummed against his lips, his short fingers tightening their hold against his shirt. Before the kiss could continue deeper, a loud cough interrupted them and Jungkook looked up to see Namjoon scowling at him.

Leaving one last peck against the omegas plush lips he whispered goodbye and leaned down to plant a kiss on the small curve of his stomach. Jimin smiled happily before turning and running into his fathers waiting arms. Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Namjoon pulling Jimin into the house when the omega didn't stop waving at him. It was going to be a long night.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Jimin sat on the couch and began to pout. This was the first time he was going to be spending the night away from his mate. He had never been away from him during the night and he could already feel the heaviness in his heart from not having him there.

"Can you at least pretend you're happy to be here?"

Haneul frowns as he walks into the living room and sits next to him. Jimin rolls his eyes and pulls the widest smile he can muster before turning to him. But all that gets him is a flick on the forehead and an annoyed sigh. The two end up turning away from each other in annoyance. Jimin seemed to lighten up when he picked up the smooth comforting scent from his father. He turned in his seat and saw him coming out of his room with a small smile.

"Stop fighting and get in here. I just want all my pups with me tonight."

Haneul groaned, but was the first to stand up and walk into their parents room. Jimin followed after and walked into the bedroom to find a perfectly rounded nest. There were furs piled up delicately and pillows all around, positioned into perfection. Hyun was already settled in it, a thick quilt covering up his lower half, while Haneul waited on the side with his arms crossed.

It reminded Jimin of his younger days, when their parents would carry them to their bedroom after dinner and cuddle them in the softest nest his father would always make. He remembers Haneul clinging on to Namjoon, wanting to be carried after drinking a warm cup of milk. He hadn't realized how much he missed having both his parents besides him, cuddling into him and whispering sweet love you's as they were lulled to sleep. Jimin didn't think twice before jumping in and snuggling into Hyun's side. His brother instinctively hooked an arm around him and scented him back. Haneul followed quickly, despite his tough personality he was a sucker for his parents' comforting scents wrapping around him. Jimin always knew Haneul secretly loved being cuddled the most out of the three, pretty sure why he acts so tough sometimes. Jimin couldn't stop giggling when his oldest brother whined for attention. His alpha father chuckled as well and laid down, throwing an arm around all three of them and he began releasing his scent in comforting waves.

Jimin sighed, it was the perfect night and he realized how much he missed his family. He missed his fathers petting, his dad's cooking, and despite being annoyed most of the time he missed bickering with his older brothers. His thoughts were interrupted by quiet sniffling, he opened his eyes and looked to his right where Hyun was scrunching up his face in an attempt to not cry. Jimin couldn't handle the sudden change in atmosphere and began tearing up.

"I miss Jimin, can't he come back home?" Hyun let out a soft wail.

"Why are you crying?" Haneul groans as he looks up and stops his eyes from blinking the tears out.

"Why are the both of you crying? You're making me cry." Jimin covers his face from them, trying to muffle his cries.

Namjoon sighs and starts running his hand through Haneel's hair while Jin hugs onto Hyun and pats his back lightly.

"My big babies, stop crying. It's not good for the baby." Jin says softly.

Haneul is the first to stop, sitting up quickly and looking down at Jimin's stomach. And it's a whole train wreck after that. Hyun wails out louder, his eyes spilling tears like a waterfall. While Haneul whines low in his throat when Jimin puts a hand on his small bump.

"Why does he have a baby when he's still a baby?" Haneul stutters as he rubs his eyes furiously.

Jimin realizes then how important family was. His oldest brother's hearts were pouring out from the sadness of him leaving the nest. He needs to thank his parents one day, for raising them to be the way they are. He knew now that the first thing his pup should know is the value of family forever.
