Chap 3 Layla loves Terra?

Class 11-B looked delightfully chaotic last-minute homework copying, conspiracies about the math teacher's mysterious bald spot, and half the room scrolling under their desks like covert agents.

Terra slid into her seat and stared at her tragically empty notebook with the soul of someone who had just opened a tax form.

"Sh*t... I didn't do the homework," she muttered.

Tobas-still stuck in his "pure maiden" version thanks to the Cursed-sat beside her with the poise of a blushing anime heroine. He leaned in, voice sweet enough to trigger alarms at a candy factory.
"Terraaa, maybe the teacher won't notice. Just look innocent."

"Innocent, my ass," Terra said. "She's got laser eyes. She once caught a kid hiding chips three rows behind her. No survivors."

Before Tobas could defend the honor of innocent smiles, Layla dropped into the seat ahead of them, tossing her bag with the grace of a rock into a puddle. Layla had a razor tongue, quick wit, and a talent for swearing like a sailor. She shot Terra a smirk.

"Don't tell me you didn't do the homework again, piglet."

Terra blinked. "Piglet?!"

Layla's grin widened. "Yeah, a cute fat pig. That's why I like you-you're real. You say whatever the hell you want. No filter."

"Shut up and lend me yours," Terra said, hand already out.

"Fine, fine." Layla shoved her notebook over. "Copy fast before the old bat shows up."

Terra started scribbling like her life depended on it. Then, without thinking-more reflex than choice-words slipped out of her mouth, hitching a ride on the Cursed.

"I wish you'd just say what you're really thinking, Layla."

The air gave a little electric twitch. Terra's fingertips tingled. Tobas clutched his chest like a daytime soap diva.
"You maniac! You triggered it again!"

Terra froze mid-stroke. "No way. Don't tell me-"

Layla blinked. Her smirk flickered-and then the truth poured out like a busted hydrant.

"You know what, Terra? I f*cking hate Tobas. Every time he opens his mouth I wanna stuff a sock in it. This whole 'cursed maiden' shtick? Makes me gag. The only reason I even show up to this hellhole is YOU. If you weren't here, I'd have ditched ages ago."

The classroom noise dimmed into stunned silence. Terra's jaw nearly dislocated. Tobas looked like a goldfish discovering oxygen is optional.

"LAYLA?!" Terra squeaked.

Layla slapped a hand over her mouth, horrified. "What the-why did I say that out loud?!"

Tobas flailed, lace-sleeves and all. "How could you hate me? I'm- I'm adorable!"

"Adorable my ass," Layla snapped-then winced, realizing she couldn't stop talking. "You look like a discount romance-manga knockoff. And your voice makes me wanna punch drywall."

Terra collapsed into wheezy laughter, smacking her desk. "Oh my god. This is priceless."

"Terra, stop laughing!" Tobas clung to Terra's sleeve like a damsel in distress. "I'm being emotionally destroyed in HD!"

Face in her arms, Layla groaned. "Terra, you cursed me, didn't you? You menace."

Terra cleared her throat, trying on innocence. It didn't fit. "Okay, maybe the Cursed slipped a little. But hey-silver lining-you're finally honest!"

"Honest my ass," Layla growled into her sleeves. "Now everyone knows I only endure this dump for you! If people find out, I'm dead."

Right then, the math teacher stormed in with prison-warden energy.
"Settle down! Homework out. Now."

Terra slid Layla's notebook under her own like a magician palming a card. Tobas sat statue-still, glowering with tragic elegance. Layla bit her tongue so hard it might file for workers' comp.

The teacher hawk-walked down the rows, eyes scanning pages like barcodes. She stopped at Terra's desk.

"Homework," she said flatly.

Terra produced the notebook and a smile so fake it could have its own plastic recycling code. The teacher flipped through the immaculate answers.

"Hm. Acceptable. Barely." She moved on, muttering about standards and sloth.

Terra exhaled like she'd just survived reentry.

But the Cursed wasn't finished with Layla. Words yanked themselves out of her throat again:
"And by the way, Terra, I lent you my homework because I like you. Like like you. Not the friendly kind. Whatever. There-I said it."

Silence detonated. A paper plane stopped mid-flight. Somewhere, a pen hit the floor like a gunshot.

Tobas pointed, trembling. "WHAT?! You're in love with Terra?!"

Layla thunked her forehead onto the desk. "Please kill me."

Terra sat very still, cheeks on fire, brain buffering. Laugh? Scream? Jump out the window? She settled for a strangled whisper:
"This curse is going to ruin my entire life."

Tobas dabbed at imaginary tears. "No, Terra... it's going to turn your life into a love-triangle anime."

"Shut the hell up, Tobas!" both girls snapped in perfect harmony.

Aftermath

By the end of class, Layla had barricaded herself in the bathroom, Tobas was sulking about being "hated," and Terra was gently banging her head against a locker, trying to concuss the day into a reboot.

The Cursed wasn't just a gloomy Sentalos inheritance anymore. It had invaded the school day, weaponized honesty, and planted a neon-lit confession right in Terra's lap.

Dragging her bag toward the door, Terra sighed to the ceiling.
"If this is just the beginning... I'm so screwed."

Somewhere deep inside her bones, the Cursed chuckled.
