I never know it could be a life-changing turn of events in my life.

After arriving home, I went directly to the bath.

My mom called me and asked how I was doing. I told her I got some drink with colleagues and just got home. She was worried, but I told her that I was feeling very much fine. Yeah, very much so. She was talking about health for a while and told me to take care of myself. My dad was planning to travel to Singapore on a business trip, so they might go over to check me out. I knocked myself out of the dizziness and told her I'd be preparing.

I never liked alcohol, did I?

I didn't know where to seek a dose to cure the uneasiness inside my chest. It wasn't from the brandy, it's just something within me that didn't sit right.

What is it that I want to do? I asked myself.

I didn't know anymore.

I'd become more stupid with every passing day. No challenge, no competition, no hardship. I didn't feel so alive.

"Take your call, Hiro!!! Take your call, Hiro!!~~~"

That moment, I didn't even want to take anymore. However, I still extended my hand out of the bath to take the call.

It's Erik. He rarely called me, so I took the call.

"Yeah, Erik? What's up?"

"Hey, where you be, Hiro!?! You went home?"

"Yeah!"

"Nice, could you let Steven and Luke stay for the night? They're dead drunk!"

After settling them in, Erik took out from his work backpack four bottles of beer and some manga even.

"You always bring all that to work? Bro, damn!" I chuckled. I thought Erik was a serious working guy, going to work with absolute focus and attention.

He lifted his glasses and looked at me. Well, I believed that Erik's gay, but I'm straight... you know? So I was scared for a second. 

"Yeah. I didn't know what to put in my bag otherwise"

I remembered that I laughed so hard that my stomach ached.

"So what's up with those two? You guys went to drink right after work?"

Erik told me that they didn't intend to, since we would be drinking anyway in Universal. However, those two got in an argument so they wanted to compete whoever lost in drinking would apologize to the other.

"Dumbass lol"

"Yeah, right?"

We both broke into laughter. 

Such simple-minded people.

"You went there? Did you get to see your Eric with a C?"

Erik chuckled.

"Yeah, she's as beautiful as ever!"

"Haha fair! You still have the strawberries?" he asked me

"Strawberries garden was half a year ago already, now I only grow onions and tomatoes in the garden"

"Wait, why are you sitting farther and farther? I'm not gay, you know?" 

"You're not??"

We both drank and talked all night like that. 

If you asked me what's life-changing about this, I'd say, this is the first time I felt having them as friends are truly a blessing. I was relied on, felt like I was worried about, and thought fondly of.

If my life's supposed to be this ordinary, I feel like I could hang in there for a tinny while.
