THE NOISY TREE
Three days have passed...
I walk on the long street for nothing. Don't know what is happening. Look like my feet are no longer mine. I am walking like a puppet controlled by some dark force.
"You need to slow down..." a strange voice whispers in my ear. "You were always running in your whole life, why you still wanna run in a dream?" the voice continues. Is that just an illusion made by my tired brain to cheat my mind?
All I wanna do is getting out of this bloody road but no hope. There is no point of return. I am not in my world, I can realize that... There is no sun here, the long road is shined by street lights but strange. A kind of dark blue light escapes the empty glass box of that street lamps.
Suddenly, I see something in the street gutter. It has plenty of bitten apples. They roll in line slowly and slowly to the drain. Maybe there is an apple tree near here by which I can quench my thirst and silence my noisy stomach. The call of hunger blurs my mind from questioning what makes those apples move...
I run. I run forward as fast as possible to where I believe there is a tree. Imagining biting those juicy fruits makes my mouth water. Surprisingly, I have reached the end of the road. The apple tree stands right there, big as a house. But there is something even bigger. That's the tower behind it.
Now I am not sure the tree is some kind of apple or not. I was amazed by the amount of the fruits. They are the juiciest apples I have ever seen. But they have the mouth. And of course, a mouth is used to make noise, especially in this case ."Come and bite me, you will enjoy eating me, sir. Let me be inside you. Come Come!" That's the only thing they say but constantly. Some of them like to speak, some prefer singing, some even scream. They all pop out the same sentence in both genders. The mix of noise makes me dizzy. I grasp one.
A big mouth suddenly appears in the middle of the tree and sings with an opera voice: "It's not the mother that forsakes her children. But the children that forsake their mom". The noisy-apple on my hand turns to silent after listening to the voice. It looks like a normal one now. I pick another one. The same thing happens with the tree and the apple. I eat one by one until my stomach is full.
Sitting on the tree trunk, taking out the guitar and playing the riff again, I think about Death. Everything has gone worse after I meet him. I wonder: "Damn it, walking on the longest road ever to eat those strange fruits and suffering those noises, casting an adult version of Alice in wonderland huh? What's next?"
The tree seems to read my thought. It sings in reply: "You have eaten my children. You must pay for your sin".
Suddenly, I feel like thousand of sharp sticks sting inside my stomach. "Alice gonna die soon" I weep. The tree still descents in a higher tone, and longer repetition...."For better or for worse you don't care which. Running into trouble, you skitch. Feeding your mouth, you skitch. Now be my fertilizer, you skitch!". The tree sprawls its limbs to grasp my dying body. I feel completely exhausted. A small victim that has no power left to escape from the predator's fang. Crawling to the tower's entrance by the very last strength remains, I sigh for the last breath of my life.
