She sang.

"Meet me at the bottom of the ocean
Where the time is frozen
Where all the universe is open..."

Her voice was soft,
just a hum against the empty car,
the late-night road sliding under her wheels.
Neon signs blurred,
streetlights flickered.
It felt endless,
but quiet.

She wasn't thinking of anyone.
Just singing,
chilling,
half-lost in the rhythm.

And then—
for less than a second,
something tugged.
Not pain.
Not memory.
Just a flicker.
A thought, gone almost before it formed:
maybe I have someone to meet there.

She shook her head,
smiled at nothing,
turned the volume up.

It was nothing.
Just a song.
Just a ride.
Just the night,
passing by.

But somewhere,
he felt it anyway.
