"Okok, rock, paper sci-" the carriage lurched to a stop.

"Hold on," Levi pulled back the curtains covering the windows of the carriage, looking out at our surroundings. The sun had set an hour ago leaving only faint moonlight and the glow of torches close to the carriage as the only thing to go off of.

i don't see anything-

"It's getting darker, they're worried about running into danger further down the road," a knight came up to the carriage, explaining the situation to Levi.

"We can stop for the night can't we?" I leaned closer to the window to join in on the conversation.

i'm fine with sleeping in a carriage for the night

"There's a town with an inn nearby, we can redirect," the knight nodded before pulling away from the carriage leaving Levi and I alone again.

if the first princess really did attempt to attack us it would only make her case more difficult

"That one seems unlikely," Levi rolled his eyes at me, reaching for my hand. "Duke and Duchess Ackerman overthrow the throne."

"Y/N, we've arrived," Hanji came around to the side of the carriage, tapping on the window.

you know it's actually a bit of a relief to see a familiar face that isn't levi's

"Hold on Y/N," Levi turned to me, pulling two heavy dark cloaks with few embellishments out of a small storage space. "As much as we can, we should avoid drawing attention to ourselves."

"Alright," I quickly put it on, pulling the hood down over my face. "All good?"

"All good," Levi breathed out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Hey, we're going to be fine."

"I know."

"In that case! Let's go sleep in a bed," I hurried out of the carriage, waiting for Levi. "You coming?"

"Yeah yeah, give me a minute idiot."

"Shall we?" I held out a hand, staring up at Levi's figure in the carriage.

"Lead the way."
